Musician Alex Payler performed a unique arrangement of the iconic “James Bond Theme” from the equally iconic film Doctor No on his Yamaha Electone (electronic organ). Payler quite skillfully captured each track of the multi-instrumental theme using various functions on the keyboard.

I'm right there with you.

We're visual creatures, unfortunately... Art provides a quick dopamine hit, whereas reading is work.

I've considered what a writing commission system for DA ships would look like for me, but I feel like the rate would have to be so insulting low to generate interest (like $5-10 per 500 words, or .02c per word, whereas the lowest freelance offer I'd even consider for a hard news/feature piece is $50 per 500, or .2c per word, and like 70% of news writing is just reprinting/rephrasing stuff other people say.) that I'd rather do it for free.

I've realized that the best (only) way for me to write a longfic is to do it for my own enjoyment without showing anyone and with the vague possibility of maybe someday putting it out there through a Patreon account or something when I'm done(?) rather than trying to treat an in progress fic like a potential income stream or trying to build a readership, because I'm so easily discouraged by getting no response that I stop writing.

Should I be more resiliant? Absolutely, but I'd rather be running around in Thedas and my original works than fighting to be seen - I'm genuinely concerned that my inability to play the social media game will kill my fiction career before it starts, but that's another matter.

*Shrug*

I'm just one writer, so no big loss at all, but the "take it and leave" mentality surrounding writing could kill what would've been your favorite book, fic or fictional universe someday. #Art Should Be Shared

One thing I have to get off my chest, that infuriates me with the fandom. Any fandom. Artists do commissions and writer’s take requests, struggling for them tbh. But artists get payed(seriously I spend 50$-250$ a month for commissions) for drawing characters that aren’t even THEIRS?! And writers have to shove their writing, self reblogging and recommending just to get acknowledged? What is that shit? What is going on? Why is one worth more than the other? As someone who does both, granted I’m not good at either, they are equal in effort. I would understand if paying for commissions means providing supplies to get the painting done but it DOESNT. It’s all digital, I’ve yet to see an artist that uses canvases and paint. I even had one artist ask me to pay more to get work printed, so that I could hang it on my wall. But if I comment on a writers work; “I’ve printed this so that I can read it forever” they are reduced to tears?

I pay for both writing software and painting software, if that is relevant.

WHY ARE THE WRITERS NOT VALUED AND WHY DO WE PAY RIDICULOUS AMMOUNTS FOR ART WHEN THE CHARACTERS ARE NOT EVEN THE ARTISTS OWN???! WHY ARE THEY EARNING SHITLOADS OF MONEY ON IT, SOMETIMES EVEN MAKING A LIVING WHEN SOME WRITERS SQUEEZE EVERY OUNCUE OF FREE TIME TO WRITE A MASTERPIECE, to receive two kudos and then be forgotten?

Why are we being so unfair?

I also recently watched a video about a comic and got a bit inspired by the comic layouts, so I'm trying smthing a bit different w it in that regard, but thats all next pages.

as you can see here, i stuck with the new shading style, and i think it looks really great! Definitely has more mood and interest now. i've also been trying a bit more on the backgrounds and environments, as you can see where the setting takes centre stage for a few panels (i love doing it :D)

anyways, get excited for the small fight scene next up! i know i am!!!

finally finished these pages!! sorry about that lol, got busy n stuff

anyways, for these pages i was testing what i wanted to do for the shading of the comic (mainly just tested with coloured filter, coloured filter + coloured shading, coloured shading, in that order), and i think i'm gonna just do coloured shading. i rlly like how the colours pop out more, maybe i will add a tiny bit of a coloured filter, but otherwise, i like that one :)

omg these works took foreverrrrr, they look super nice tho :D

I was a bit lazy w the background and i wish i made the smoke look more like smoke, plus the lighting could be fixed up in a few places. HOWEVER, the lighting still looks rlly nice :DDD i especially like their poses and the composition of the whole thing :) rlly proud
