“ What’s the matter? “

Disembodied voice takes form, first as a flock of bats then a young vampire in the form of Eiden. He’d noticed the other sitting on the roof in lonesome.

Now, Eiden didn’t outright welcome the changes that came with the costumes - at least the personality changes were a little embarrassing. In the end however the fun of it all still prevailed. It was a shame to let go all of those abilities too so he just had to try it again. 

This time none of that seemed to happen. The outfit this time was cheap, just cape and some fangs - take candy and bam! He was even able to turn into flock of bats - it was so convenient to move around like this.

He is a little thirsty though. 

“ We’re matchies huh? “ he says as he floats to sit next to Ryuki, then he lightly jabs the other with his shoulder and lowers his voice in excitement,

“ Hey hey!! Have you tried blood yet? “

“ Wait a moment princess! “

Had Eiden known the effect would be this strong, he’d have second thoughts. Perhaps he would try anyway but even so right now he’s not thinking about it. Clad in fabrics of a makeshift loyalty, storybook prince so to speak he surges ahead to fulfill the role that compells him so. 

The direwolves are in the world of a surprise when the young royal sweeps the little girl into his arms leaving a trail of sparkles after him.

“ Be not afraid!” he declares, “ for I’m here...  “

His voice possesses a note much softer than his usual chatter. He turns smooth, pointing toysword towards the wolves and as he does it begins to emit light. Soon a beam of sorts blasts ahead, glittery, twinkling sound following. 

As it fades the direwolves have been replaced by couple of poodles. Now the prince turns onto the little lady, small hand in his.

“ Everything alright my lady? You haven’t attained any scars have you? “

“ Well, this is awkward. “

Among the many equipment that were laid out on the table lay a crucifix. He’d thought that vampire joining ghost hunt would be kind of hilarious which is how he found himself here. 

“ Look haha. It doesn’t do anything? “

He turns to the robot next to him - really rad outfit pick he has to say! 

“ You think it’s malfunctioning or something? Or maybe it just doesn’t work for me... “

“ Hey, hey. Which equipment should we get? I’m def taking spirit box because it’s fun but how about you? “

“ Trick or treat! “

“ Eiden’s here! For something sweet! Unless you choose a trick then you’ll get a... “

Pause.

“Uhhh ...................kick?  I don’t know. You can pick. “

“ Oh this is a little.... “

It was burning his cheeks... And it made sense! It was supposed to! It was from the hot challenge tray after all! There wasn’t even anything to win it was just a fun game within all the merriment of the ball... But even if it was a challenge Eiden had another reason for the feeling of needing to finish it. 

He takes a long long sip from the milk glass, stuffing his mouth full of whitebread. Still all four of the hot chicken wings left.

“ No wasting food though.... Alright Eiden you can do this!! “

"Ro~ma~nu~sss!

Spotting a familiar face in the crowd Eiden rushes ahead hand waving excitably on his side.  Before there’s any proper time for a greetback Eiden’s got his wrist that he’s tugging with fullforce ahead.

“ Cmon! This is a good one! How’s your pairdancing? We can eat and drink after alright? I mean I’ve already had some but there’s time for you too okay? Now come come! “

The hall looks pretty amazing, Eiden has to stop to really look at his surroundings before turning to look for Charlie.

“ Hey! “

These kind of occasions certainly come better when shared with a friend. Charlie’s also punctual to their meeting, Eiden can only hope he hasn’t kept him waiting for too long. Preparing took so dastardly long today but he’s excited for the party. Charlie always looks handsome but Eiden had no intention of losing.

“ Sorry to keep you waitingl! “

“ I don’t have much to offer to compensate for the time lost so how about a dance? “

“ Hmm.... “

Eiden tilts his head looking at the phone he’s got up in his hand, looking for a good angle. Positioned like this you can’t see the foods properly huh? He takes few steps back, fixing the angle as he does. 

It seems like someone else has a similar idea though Eiden doesn’t pick it up quickly enough and their backs end up colliding. Good thing it’s not a strong bump! 

“ Oop! Sorry! Didn’t see you there! “ he says head turning to the one he bumped onto.

“ Sorry about that. Everything ok? I didn’t ruin the pic or anything? “

Eiden holds quite confidence on his dance abilities, even though admittedly he’s more experienced on the modern dance and such, all the skills that he developed on his dance troupe days... But even then, he’s sure his waltz doesn’t fall too much behind.

Hand extends forward as Eiden flashes his winning smile, approaching as the song starts playing.

“ May I have this dance? “
