The mind is everything. What you think you become! The Door of No Return Gore Island, Senegal [Circa 2011] I remember watching African Drum and Dance in Dakar and asking a performer about it. He responded the style was called Djembe Gorée. The movements looked very similar to Capoeira (to me) so to later find out the Portuguese ended up here on Gorée Island in Senegal first is interesting when we think about cultural migration. Brazil had the most Africans sent to their country during the the African Holocaust which is a Portuguese colony.
