Christmas party 2020

I am proud of myself today. 4 breakfast I had 200cals. Every yr at the daycare we have a Christmas party 4 the kids and their parents bring lots of sweets 4 the kids and I ALWAYS binge. But today I didn’t. I was even offered cupcakes 2 take home and I said no. I feel so powerful. 

But I did go out 2 eat w my friend. We had chicken wings. And usually I always need 2 eat everything I ordered. But I didn’t finish. I felt so full I literally went 2 the bathroom 2 purge. Again that made me feel powerful!

Then after when I got home my mom had a bag of cookies 4 me and I chewed 1 then spit it out bc I didn’t wanna eat it. Then I gave the rest to my bother. Today  was a good day for me

And I came to the realisation earlier this week that I am a terrible terrible friend. I haven’t spoken to some of my closest “friends” in over six months yet I resent the fact people don’t check up on me to the point it’s makes me angry and bitter and depressed. How terrible of me. I hope they don’t hate me and can find it in them to forgive me for basically ignoring them.

Ny mình, đôi lúc có những thứ quá quắt, đôi lúc làm mình buồn, nhưng mình vẫn ở lại vì những chuyện thế này.

Bọn mình đang uống sữa thì gặp bé kia bị hỏng xe. Ny mình loay hoay đề giúp thì tông vào xe trên lề, gãy biển số, phải đền 400 cho chiếc xe rất cũ. Mình tiếc của lòng không vui lắm. Mà ny mình ổng vẫn vui vẻ đền tiền, cũng không trách hay buồn phiền gì dù dạo này tiền bạc mọi thứ khá eo hẹp. Bọn mình đi ĐL cũng cố dè xẻn mọi việc, thế mà...

Mình lại thấy con người đối với nhau rất tệ. Bé gái đấy, đề xe rất lâu mà ở Hoa Sữa đông thế, ai cũng ngó lơ. Không hiểu sao, lòng mình lạnh ngắt. ĐL đôi lúc cũng không dễ thương như mình nghĩ. Mà ny mình lại bỗng ấm áp hơn một chút..

Beberapa hari tinggal bareng ponakan yang masih balita, jadi belajar banyak hal. It's okey cepat nangis cepat ketawa, kalau jatuh? ya bangun lagi, coba banyak hal baru as simple as 'yang penting suka' tanpa perlu banyak pertimbangan 🙃.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

1.Identification of strength and personal growth

Creativity – I attempted many drawing/painting projects during the duration of CAS. Although I still have to work on my techniques, especially the perspective and mixing colours, I do feel that I was able to create many interesting pieces. Although, I do not plan to make a career in art I will engage myself with drawing/painting in the future as I believe it is a great opportunity to develop creative thinking.

Service –  Over the two years of CAS experience I have been one of the leaders of Amnesty International at my School. Thanks to my participation in the club, I developed in terms of working with people and organising meetings that were meant to motivate people to act in Amnesty, which contributed to my personal growth. I plan to further pursue my work in this organisation.

2.Undertaking new challenges and developing new skills in the process

Service- as one of the leader of Amnesty International I developed communicative and leadership skills, which allowed me to organise interesting meetings for my fellow friends at the club. I believe that those skills acquired during my time at Amnesty International will prove to be very applicable during my time at a university.

Activity –  During two years of my CAS experience, I most certainly developed my skills in terms of sports. I became really engaged in my swimming practice and plan to participate in Warsaw Masters Contest this year. Moreover, I tried a new sport, which is tennis. Those activities helped me to develop skills outside school and work on my form.

3.Initiating and planning a CAS experience

CAS project – Me and my friends decided to create an animation and soundtrack. We learned about the difficulties of stop-motion animation, not only including shooting the footage but also planning beforehand and creating the environment. Synchronising the different aspects of the work was an interesting and educating challenge.

Creativity – Some of my pieces of art were inspired by various artists from the past ( e.g Schiele and Klimt.) Therefore, before painting I usually made a thorough research on the painting/drawing techniques used by them, additionally learning a lot about their biography.

4.Commitment and perseverance in CAS experiences

Service – organising interesting classes for Amnesty International required time and commitment. It taught me how to do an accurate research before a speech on a given topic and develop various engaging forms for the students.

Activity- Since I aim to start in a relatively highly ranked competition for the amateurs of swimming, my trainings required a lot of commitment and endurance. Sometimes when I had a worse day, it was difficult to keep on improving my swimming skills, nonetheless, I gained a lot from the process of trainings.

5.Skills and benefits of working collaboratively

CAS project – The CAS project showed the benefits of collaboratively combining different skills. My friends are skilled musically and in filming, whereas drawing was more of my speciality. This is why we collaborated to create an animation with a soundtrack.

Activity – I play Tennis with my boyfriend and thanks to our competitiveness we improve to compete and get better significantly faster.

Service- during the time as a leader of Amnesty International we conducted various big projects, which were done in a group ( e.g the letter Marathon or a statement issued against the discrimination promoted by Polish minister of education - Przemysław Czarnek).

6.Engagement with issues of global significance

Service – one of the main tasks of Amnesty International is to fight for human rights around the globe. Therefore, it was a perfect opportunity for me to develop my knowledge in that area and acknowledge the inequalities and cruelties that are present even in the modern world of XXI century.

7.Recognizing and considering the ethics of choices and actions

Service – during the meetings of Amnesty International we discussed various choices by the world leaders, with the perspective of ethics and human rights. It taught me how to assess choices from various viewpoints and allowed me to gain a broader perspective into the global affairs.
