2:59 Interviewer: Why do you think that, uh, Dean has had such a hard time forgiving Cas when he did forgive Sam for a similar betrayal?

Jensen: I mean, I think- I think the easy answer is- is blood. I think the easy answer is family. Uh, even though, you know, if- if- if there was a family in this show, it- it would include Bobby, it would- it would include Cas, it would include, you know, these- these kind of broken war-torn heroes that- that we’ve, you know, that we’ve come to know. Uh, you know, and- and even, y’know, Bobby has that famous line, it’s like, uh, y’know, family don’t just end with blood. Um, but I think, y’know, the short answer is that it is his brother, and, you know, there might be grudges held between them, but at the end of the day, that’s- that’s the closest that he has to a companion and has had for- as- as, you know, a companion for- for many years. So, uh, I think with Cas, I think there was always… you know, he’s- he’s- it’s unnatural. He’s- he’s an angel. (opens hands) He’s not a human. And, I think that- that Dean relating to somebody like that, uh, is- it’s tricky. You know, there’s, it’s like relating to monsters, relating to anything supernatural. His brother is flesh and blood. (chops hand on table) He can- he can- It’s tangible, he can touch that. Um, Cas is, you know, (shrugs) Cas is Cas. So, I don’t know if… if it’s a… if it’s just a grudge that- that Dean is- is gonna harbor, if it’s something that he will eventually let go if Cas does come back into the picture full force? (shrugs) Anything can happen.
