Tomorrow, I’ll be 25.

Tomorrow, I’ll be turning 25. I will be 25% living my life because I decided and declared that my lifespan will be up to 100 years old. I may be kidding, but I always say that. The older I get, the lesser I put attention to my birthday. Less celebration. Less expectations. As far as I can remember, turning 16, 18, 20, 21, and 22 were the birthdays I gave so much attention or importance to. 

When I turned sixteen, I celebrated it with bunch of friends and even wore a skirt because it’s like slowly turning into a “lady” and getting out of highschool. Eighteen because, yes, debut. Twenty because you are an adult now and twenty doesn’t end with “teen” anymore. Twenty one and twenty two were more meaningful because those years were my breakthrough. I experienced, learned, and changed so much.

When you’re an adult, you get disconnected with some of your friends and few of them remembers you. You face bigger storms and challenges. You experience quarter-life crisis. You’re more concerned with your career and future. And oh, you get more body pains.

Tomorrow, I’ll be turning 25 and I am not as excited like I used to be. Maybe because we’re on a lockdown and there’s nowhere to go but home. Speaking of home, I am not even at home. Even though I sound less happy and excited, I still am grateful for everything that happened and is still going to happen. I’m thankful for everyday and for the days to come!
