well, that was quick! after heading to my classes for the day and heading home, i managed to figure out the chokepoint pattern and blaze through it to get Vandalism (FTR-9+, MAX-16) as FTR PM #245!!!

but that's not all!!! i understand the past few posts have been solely arcaea quickies, but this one has me visiting another smaller arcade for the first time in a bit and playing my heart out!!! they actually got a IIDX cab too, which is HYPE!!!! just uhhh ignore the songs being played

but compared to IIDX, the REAL treat for today's session is ITG!!! DANCE GAMIN'!!! WAHOOOOOOO!!!! i got help with setting up my GrooveStats profile on one of the cabs so that i could play in the ITL2025 season on this beautiful cab and its beautiful pads, leading to some incredible scores and FCs/FECs coming out of it -- like a 99 FC on roppongi EVOLVED ver. A+B [SH10], or several FECs on charts like Move That Body! (SX10, 20e), being torn the sky (SX10, 22e), Lover (CE Style) (SX10, 21e), Overjoy ★ OVERDOSE!! (SX11, 51e)!!!, ACE (SM9, 29e), and even wrapping back around to roppongi EVOLVED (SH10, 35e) just before leaving for the night!!! really good session overall, though i wanna work on those Excellent counts at least a little (dunno about overjoy tho, those 64th swings are TOUGH)

April 5th, 2025 - maimai DX PRiSM, CHUNITHM SUN PLUS, PIU XX, EZ2AC, ONGEKI, beatmania, DanceEvolution, Arcaea

ARCADE DAY!!!! BACK AT IT AGAIN AT THE HUUUGE GAME CENTER!!!! it's been so long since i've gotten to play these games omg... literally since last year i haven't been able to play a majority of these games, but i'm here!!! i'm back!!! and i'm ready to kill it here!!! may or may not go over the image limit here, in which case i'll split this into two posts, but let's make the most with the images we have and get this party STARTED!!!

so first thing to note: the DX cabs have been upgraded to the second-newest maimai DX PRiSM!!! and so while my rating dropped a bit as the new version songs rotated out, there's plenty of new songs to gain rating and have fun with playing!!! ...though i did get a bit cocky with playing some of the 13s here www (scored p bad) . but in due time, after choking and only getting AA-AAAs on 13s, i got back up to my beloved purple 10k rating!!! sets were split and broken up past this point, but i found it easier to combine everything into this section and giving the rest of the games their own spotlight, so make of the scores what you will...

quick break from the maimai to bring you... PIU XX!!! FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A REAL LONG WHILE!!! AND WE'RE PICKING BACK UP WITH BOONG BOONG D19!!! gahghh i missed the kpop licenses from this version so much and this was one of my favorites, i don't think i even got to play the D19 before it was removed!!! maybe i'm did, but am glad to have (probably) upscored it now regardless :]) and later on, i upscored it a ton and also cleared Rooftop D20 for the first time!

NOW IT'S 5KEY TIME!!! first the korean, then the japanese -- a quick and fun A-rank on Morgenglut 2012 (NM 8) (5K Standard) in EZ2AC (and upscored it to an S in two more plays!) before moving onto beatmania THE FINAL and figuring out how to play Another charts!! and with this newfound knowledge, i got to play R3, Jam & Marmalade, and SHOX (fail lol) on ANOTHER, plus SALAMANDER BEAT CRUSH MIX ~CRASH MIX~ on HARD since it doesn't have an ANOTHER lol

misc score time!!! just to hopefully end off this post clean and complete :] got a teensy bit of ONGEKI in (not as much as i'd normally want to, though) and cleared some new 12s with very bad acc :3c then i played Daisuke on DanEvo today in between the already-sent scores, and then back at hope as i was recovering from all the energy expended today... i got a sweet new PM on STARGATE EXTREME (ETR-9+, MAX-20) as ETR PM #14!!! yippee!!!!!

more misc scores, with unfortunately none of them being upscores... but the Vicious [ANTi] Heroism [BYD-11] is promising!!! studied up, feeling a bit more confident on some of the sections, and maybe i could raise that like i did with World Ender...?

March 1st, 2025 - DJMAX RESPECT V, ProSeka, Arcaea, SDVX IV, PIU 2024 PHOENIX, jubeat festo

quick post before i head out to the arcade again: was minding my business and grinding out a new tetris sprint record for myself (finally got sub-50 today!!) when i suddenly realized... the DJMAX season pass was ending soon!!! panicked, i asked my good buddy ol friend pal Zolder about it and he actually offered to play some DJMAX with me to hopefully get through most of the pass!!! i happily obliged and got to playing random 6B/4B SCs, and it was honestly kind of a blast!!! got some good scores but was still utterly destroyed by him (which is why there's so few screenshots to show) but hey!! finally got an FC on Tic! Tac! Toe! [6BSC 9*]!!!

a quick proseka score (re-AP on Yoidore Shirazu [Master Lv.28]) before i made my way out to the bus and onto the arcade...

...and now, time for the true arcade day!!! finally arrived at the place where i would Gaming for the day, but it seems i arrived a bit too early as the entrance was still locked... so i played arcaea for a bit and got this challenge score rq (rip PM :v)

but suddenly, the door was open and i was able to hop in for some gaming!!! i know, i know, all i've played today so far were hand games (tetris included), but i wanted to warm up and wake up my rhythmic senses before i hopped into the more physical dance games, and so i went about that with some SDVX!!! just one set, sure, but there were some decent scores for a noteskin and frame rate that were impossible to read!!! (seriously, i don't know how anyone played this game at a top level back before VW... it's So Bad !!! ah well i got my volforce class up (to ???), so all's well that ends well :]

but NOW!!! it was time for the dancing gameys :] i was really pumped up for this game and set, but severely overestimating my ability after only physically warming up with a D16 (nice score tho), i kinda fumbled everything afterward and started feeling demotivated :[ so to lift my spirits and mayhaps warm myself up a bit more, my little completionist 100% brain fired up and decided on my next dance game target: TITLES!!! specifically the titles that required you to clear certain charts with an SSS or higher to get a skill title (e.g. Half, Gimmick, Run, Twist, etc.) . i wasn't confident at all that i could get some of the higher titles right now, but that didn't matter because i still had to get the lower titles (lv.1-4) first!!! and that's exactly what i did!!! i started with Half, which led me to get a sweet SSS on Mopemope D17 (hard as hell btw) followed by a sweeter SSS (and Superb Game!) on Butterfly D17 to get Half Lv.1 and Lv.2! then i moved on to gimmick (ig half was a bit too much for me...) to knock out some charts below the Gimmick Lv.4 title i already had, which led to getting PERFECT GAME SSS+ on both Yeo rae a S13 and Ugly Dee S17!!!

alright NOW i felt confident in my pumping skill, and in secret between these title sets i've been trying 21s until something clicked... and it did!!! all of a sudden, amidst all the scoring warmups and gimmick perfects, i got a sweet new AAA TG on Paradoxx - SHORT CUT - S21!!! and they just kept on rolling in after that Ugly Dee score, as i then got a sightread AA+ on Darkside Of The Mind D21, an upscore to AAA+ on Cygnus D21, and perhaps most shockingly... an AA on Extravaganza D21!!!

i wanted to get more, but i was satisfied enough after that last clear to head on and about my way for the day, so i did just that ! however, the bus wasn't coming for a few more minutes, so i dedicated my last set of the day to a quick jubeat sesh where i got a sightread S on Got more raves? [Advanced 7] (with an admittedly poor Owl noteskin) and then a re-clear on AIR RAID FROM THA UNDAGROUND [Advanced 9.7] before i went back home to celebrate my cousin's birthday!!!

February 16th, 2025 - Arcaea, EZ2ON

grahhh need to get this out of the way as fast as possible before i go to sleep, so rapid fire upscores go!! got a slight PM upscore on BREaK! BREaK! BREaK! (FTR-8+, MAX-17 -> MAX-12), plus an all-new PM on Straight into the lights (FTR-9, MAX-16) as FTR PM #234!!! (also got acid from world mode yippeeee)

but the reason why i wanted to get this out so early is that i finally cleaned out my keyboard and replaced yet another faulty switch on it, and now i'm able to play kb rhythm games again!!! to celebrate, i got two ACs on Messier 333 [4S SHD-17] -- one that was pretty bad and worse than my 1-good flag on it, but then one where i MASSIVELY cut the Cool count and almost got an S+++??? maybe someday i'll actually get it... but then instead of hopping off, i got several insane plays on several other charts... like my first FC/No Miss on picking [4S SHD-18], a sightread MAX-130 AC on Air [4S SHD-18], and a pretty good also-sightread attempt on PUPA [4S SHD-19]!!! ACs on picking and PUPA soon mayhaps??? we'll see...

December 15th (and 14th!), 2024 - Arcaea, Phigros, SDVX EG, WACCA Reverse, IIDX 32, GITADORA GALAXY WAVE, CHUNITHM SUN

another day, another... arcade session day? well, kinda? while i didn't have any exclusive plans to visit the arcade today, i was planning on going with my friends to the arcade for our very first meetup in what felt like ages!!! however, that meetup wasn't scheduled until the evening, so i'd have to make do with my devices until then . and that's exactly what i did in the case of arcaea, resulting in finally getting... FLUFFY FLASH (FTR-9+, MAX-37) as FTR PM #215!!!

it was a great score indeed, but the downside was that i accomplished it at ~6 AM when i had stayed up until ~2 AM the night before, meaning i really needed to catch up on my Z's after getting that score, which i did! once i woke up, i felt even more energized than i was when i got that score, but since i'd pretty much ran out of arcaea stamina... i spent it instead on phigros and catching up on my Middle Chart grind that i had abandoned a while ago!!! i got through the Rhythm Master pack's middle charts and the first four charts of Chapter 5, which ended in me unlocking Spasmodic by complete accident!! but i couldn't get a Phi on Spasmodic before my phone died, and that's when i decided i'd stop playing phigros for the day, so all i have to show for the marathon today is this Phi on Sonshin ~The Guru~ [HD Lv.11]

well, wouldya look at the time!! in between phigros and leaving for the friend meetup, i spent most of my time writing that December 14th post and all the super long, super crazy stuff that happened that day . but it was taking too long, and i needed something to engage my fingers a little more so i could stop making typos while writing the post. that led me to get an itch for playing vivid/stasis, which i then did, and i immediately proceeded to go off with this massive jump from SS to V rank on execution_program [FINALE 16] !!!

but alas! time indeed went by fast, and before i knew it i was actually Late to the meetup as opposed to being the first one there (especially given it was one of my favorite places to go...) . i grinded out my remaining arcaea stamina on the super long 20-min bus ride there, but didn't really get any notable scores on it (because . well. bus) besides progressing further in the Absolute Nihil unlocks! to the disappointment of my friends, i did indeed arrive rather late, and so the meetup probably wasn't as long as they'd hoped by a half hour... but nevertheless, i greeted my friends (including one friend that i hadn't seen since pre-covid iirc?), watched them play voltex for a bit, and then we wandered around the arcade doing whatever came to mind!!!

i'll save most of the details for my personal journal writing spree, as none of them really include anything regarding rhythm games or the like and we just caught up with what good friends we were during our middle school years :] but there was still rhythm gaming to be had in the form of SDVX plays while my friends either played SDVX as well, or just sat and chilled or gambled with the cranes at the arcade as we waited for another friend of ours to be free . gave the weekly score attack song, snow storm -euphoria- [EXH 17], a few tries that didn't really lead anywhere as i kept forgetting how to play the chart, but then when our dear friend came over for a split second... i tried Bi [MXM 18] once again to show off the Sheer Comedy of this game and managed to upscore it!!!

we went over to the above-ground section of the arcade to play the wider selection of rhythm games they had (wacca, taiko, iidx the works), and i got the idea to do some wacca/iidx versus matches with each other!!! unfortunately the local versus play on wacca didn't work, but we still had fun starting the same chart simultaneously and seeing how close the scores between my two other friends were!!! ...and as you can see below, i'm not referring to the third friend who was a decently seasoned rhythm gamer... (songs in the IIDX image: COSMIC V3LOCITY [SPH-10] and Mesmerizer [SPH-9])

and now, for a brief GITADORA spree!!! it's been so long since i played this game, but holy hell it's just as fun as i remembered... even more fun than before, actually!!! i felt like i'd gotten way better at the game recently, and that demonstrated itself in the incredible accuracy/high-level clears that i hadn't gotten before... maybe i could dedicate a little more time to this game in future sessions?? i have only really been leeching off free credits after all, except for today...

but alas! after a long while of rhythm gaming, crane game gambling, and waiting around for the fifth friend to join our pack... she was finally free!!! and we were reunited for the first time in ages!!! it was beautiful, but then we decided to make it even better via challenging each other in SDVX Megamix Battles!!! knowing the sheer gap between me and my friends (i don't even wanna sound cockyyyy i just don't think it'd be fun for them to face me with my level LOL), i stood back and watched, gave encouragement most of the time that they were playing... but one of my friends (probably the second best/most dedicated of the bunch) challenged me anyways, and as expected, i kindaaaa maaaybeeeee BLEW HIM OUT OF THE WATER LIKE HOLY HELL LMFAO . of course, i do feel kinda bad for him about it, but what can i say?? you come at the king, you best not miss!

aaand that concluded the meetup!! we took a group photo, chatted together a bit more, figured out who would go back home with who, and bid our farewells as we headed back to rest up for the night (excluding me LOL) . but i guess while there's plenty of free space for images remaining and nothing else to put down here... i'll just share the cut scores from yesterday's session that i couldn't fit in the earlier post due to the image limit!!!

December 11th, 2024 - Arcaea

a comparatively chiller and much less active rhythm gaming session, as it turns out that i still had a bit of college work to catch up on unfortunately... but while i was out and about away from home, i still worked through all the world mode stamina i had to pull off some... Decent scores... including finally getting a PM on LiftOff (ETR-9+, MAX-37) and following it up with a sorta bad PM on Don't Fight The Music (FTR-9, MAX-42 -> MAX-32 after upscoring it later that day) to clear out ETR PM #12 and FTR PM #210 respectively!

CORRECTION: turns out, when looking through my PM folder in arcaea, it said i had two more FTR PMs than i had written here. the game doesn't just lie about that stuff, so i went back through my entire post history from FTR PM #191 (formerly FTR/ETR PM #200) to now and found that i was missing two new PMs on different posts for different days, both being arcade days with one new PM each . i have since edited the posts to include the scores and have updated everything from then to now (including internet yamero being 10 PM #6 now www) so as to be accurate with the times

December 6th, 2024 - Arcaea

wegh.... as painful as it is to me as well, i've been having to let go of rhythm gaming as much as i've done in the past few days and weeks due to preparation for the dreaded, exhausting, painful... Finals . whereas i would normally rhythm and game without a care in the world, i must actually give a care to advance my position in the world as many of these finals could very much make or break my grade . some might say it's unfair, and i would actually agree with them !

but dread it, run from it, destiny arrives all the same, and so i've had to prepare for this exam with the knowledge that there was no way out -- i either had to give it my best shot and abandon my rhythm gaming to prioritize my preparation for the test, or i could indulge in my antics and drown in darkness during the test's time as a result. and as much as i would've loved to pick the latter should there be no consequences, there were indeed many consequences that prevented me from just rhythm gaming day and night.

and throughout all the studying, all the notetaking, all the commuting and crying out in pain... i got this insane sightread on And Revive The Melody [FTR-10+] as my only score of the day :]

December 4th, 2024 - ProSeka, Arcaea

IIIIIT'S THE BIRTHDAY DAY!!!! WAHOOOOOOOO!!!!! as of the date being described here (not the day i'm writing this post, unfortunately), it's my birthday and i'm officially turning 19!!!!! waow!!! it's just like sdvx crimson!!!! but jokes aside, it's incredible for me to have made it to this near-20s age despite all the trials and tribulations i've faced from my last birthday to this one . moreover, it's incredible looking back at all the new friends i've made, all the friends i've shared experiences with, and seeing everyone wish me happy birthday despite my lack of enthusiasm really made me tear up,,,, i couldn'tve asked for a better friend circle, i genuinely love all my friends to death and i hope to spend another year making the most of it with them waghhh,,,,,,, so to kick the special celebration off, here's a Blessing [Master Lv.27] for my birthday, and a Blessing re-AP for my everyday!!!!

...y'know, despite it being my birthday, the grind never stops!!! on the way to get some breakfast w/ my parents to kick off the special day in person, i got a ton of cool scores for dailies and personal accomplishment alike -- most notably, an insane 998 on Black MInD [FTR-10+] with a +0.01 PTT increase, as well as a fairly cool lap car score on GENOCIDER [FTR-10+] and a 994 EX+ on Don't Fight The Music [ETR-10+] plus a 991 EX+ on Divine Light of Myriad [FTR-10+] later in the day to show i've still got it!!!

i really wanted to play my old one or eight chart on Sonolus to celebrate my day, but i couldn't get it to load no matter what unfortunately,,, so i played some other random charts and got a few funky passes on custom charts for aterlbus(?) and WIPE OUT MEMORIES (never heard the latter before, so it was a complete shock when the pre-drop yelled "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" dsljfdsjflksd)

aaaand that about sums it up for the celebration today!!! it's not a very eventful rhythm game day, of course, but the main course and purpose of today was to celebrate my birthday and who i was as a person rather than a rhythm gamer, so i feel accomplished in that regard instead :] (nah jk, it was because i had a ton of homework to do and a ton of ZZZ to grind www) . still, thank you all for sticking with me these past few years, whether you're a long-time friend or just a passerby checking out these scores :] love you all from the bottom of my heart, and i can't wait to keep setting scores and doing silly stuff with others this year and beyond . let's give it my all and make this last of my teens the best i've ever had!!!

November 22nd, 2024 - Arcaea, Phigros

phew, MAN was i not expecting today's scores to go as hard as they did!!! previously, on Arcaea, 6.0 dropped and introduced some of the weirdest and harshest chart constant changes seen in the game's history... a disproportionate amount of which directly affected me!!! i was shafted and demolished b30-wise by some of these changes, so i had to figure out some way to improve my scores and prove myself much better than what the CC's seemed to say now... and now knowing that Testify [FTR-10+] got bumped up from 10.8 to 10.9, i started grinding out attempts to get as good a score on it as possible... and while i did suddenly go from a barely-EX+ to a 994 EX+, i unfortunately didn't gain any new PTT from either play.

defeated and disappointed, i just kinda tried whatever came to mind to get me through the struggles of reaching my skill ceiling. one such chart i kinda wanted to try for laughs and hard clears was Tempestissimo [BYD-11] which had actually been bumped up from 11.5 to 11.7 thanks to the update...! (but despite being in the range now, it's still displayed as an 11 in-game) . i wasn't expecting much at all given how much stamina i had already wasted on upscoring Testify, but this score unimaginably blew me away with how consistent and good it was... something i didn't even think i had the ability to accomplish... something truly out of this world

... a 986 EX FATALIS CLEAR??? ON TEMPESTISSIMO BYD-11??? WITH THUMBS??? NEARLY A FULL-ON 100K-POINT UPSCORE???? +0.03 PTT TO GO ALONG WITH IT AS WELL AND GETTING ME TO MY NEW PEAK PTT???? HOW?????? NOT HUMANLY POSSIBLE!!!!! I'M STILL IN SO MUCH SHOCK THIS SCORE IS GENUINELY INCREDIBLE

oh right, the vivid/stasis x phigros collab got announced to be released next week, so might as well pick this game back up and try catching up to where i left off on android... sucks that i couldn't transfer my data though, i had already reached chapter 7!!!

October 25th, 2024 - Arcaea, ITG, pop'n 17

WAAAAAA I'M SO EXCITED TODAYYYY !!!!!!! been waiting for this day since FOREVER (3 days ago) and that's because... it was ITG DAY AT THE ITG PLACE!!!!!! i've spent all this time preparing and grinding out my work so as to visit the place in peace... and now that i'd gotten through most of it unscathed, i headed over as soon as my advising appointment ended to be first in line to play on all the cabs!!! but of course, my hype led me to miss the initial train to class, and thus i had to take the light rail from far, far away to get to both my university and the ITG place . but in the meantime, i grinded out this incredible score in an insanely tough 9+... eventually somehow managing to crack a PM on Far Away Light (FTR-9+, MAX-37) as FTR PM #202!!! that should hold me over as warmup as i get to the place, right?

i eventually reached the place after a super long and late advising appointment, which was . a little disappointing to have used up so much time on that . it was relatively empty besides some construction and another person playing there, but i hopped on the other cab and picked an 11 to start (very bad idea) to realize just how insanely GOOD these pads were . oh my goodness i've never gotten to play itg like this... but it felt So Damn Satisfying and great !!! marvelous even.... i could play here forever!!! or well, as long as my stamina would let me ofc . so that's exactly what ended up happening once i got on that pad and configured my settings...!!! was playing every song i could recognize and every chart within my level range, so many bangers and so many packs featuring songs that i never could've expected to have been charted... let alone charted EXTREMELY well...

briefly took a break from dance gaming to try the pop'n cab in the same place... fun game i missed it very much from round 1 :] (songs played: DanDanDou [NORMAL 34] & Pop Music Ron [NORMAL 27])

ended the session off with some math homework and a bit more ITG (there was also some PIU in the middle, but i didn't get any good scores and was just tired out after playing Poseidon S21...), finding the best chart ever made and also Hypnotize by rejection from the hit mobile rhythm game Arcaea, after which i decided i was tired enough and it was getting too dark for me to stay, leading to my solemn farewell to such a beautiful space... maybe i'll come back here sometime in the future, though! stay tuned for more on that!!!

bad arcaea scores bcuz of work today sory (i just wanna get rid of my stamina...)

but then after work, i saw my mutual was hopping onto EZ2ON to play for a bit . tempted to grind out after a Long Days o' Work, i asked if he wanted to play some EZ2ON multi for funsies, and he said yes!!!! so i cleaned out my keyboard beforehand, plugged in my external SSD, booted up the game, and absolutely GAMED!!!! stole some of the scores i got during this session from this post, but Shoutouts to @inksserafim for some BANGER matches and scores!!! had fun and got to witness the Sheer Power of this beast, go go check him out !!!

October 3rd, 2024 - Arcaea

due to not yet having achieved my then-FTR PM #200 goal (i tried yesterday, but just couldn't get it...), i'm still prohibited from getting any other FTR PMs until further notice . that said, i got a really close attempt this morning while waiting for a class (that i ended up skipping completely), that being a 1-lost choke on Chromafill [FTR-10]!!! sure it's a 10.0 (which i honestly wasn't expecting, but ah well, it makes sense), but it's insanely impressive anyways... ohyeah, and also completely irrelevant score on Lucid Traveler [FTR-10]

i was expecting this trend to keep up for some more time, given how inconsistent i was at accuracy and how mentally taxing this goal i had was going to be. but my passion for the song and its artist triumphed any hardship and any obstacle i've encountered or would've encountered on this journey. no matter how long it took or how insane it drove me, i was going to get this. and so, after finishing my calc homework just in the nick of time, i went on an attempt spree. my previous attempts lasting a little over half an hour each, i was expecting this one to go the same. and yet, after only around 15-20 minutes... i was finally blessed with this score to close it out.

not really much today... just practicing BYD-10s because i am Notoriously bad at those . got some good upscores out of them though, that being EX+s on Purple Verse and Quon [BYD-10]!!! i wish i could upscore Quon a little more, but i have the ending completely mindblocked rn,,,,
