It's a chilly November Sunday before Thanksgiving. And it's a perfect time for a #VinylAndBeerSunday. Tonight, I am spinning a recent acquisition to my vinyl collection. As a huge fan of THE BEATLES, I am less familiar with their solo output (aside from PAUL MCCARTNEY). I liked the few albums of GEORGE HARRISON that I have owned or heard - but tonight is the first time for me to spin his 1976 release THIRTY THREE AND 1/3. According to Wiki, the album had a trouble history but was well received as a return to form after spotty releases in the early 1970s. I knew the hits THIS SONG and CRACKERBOX PALACE - but the rest of the disc is new material for me. I like when I can hear something for the first time from one of my favorite artists. I have come to appreciate HARRISON's work as I get older - and I am wondering if that is the point. I couldn't appreciate his material in my younger years. This disc is a fantastic sounding and finely crafted set of tunes that deserves multiple spins. I have accompanied my recent addition to my collection with recently discovered brew from SEVEN BRIDES BREWING in nearby Silverton, Oregon. Their FRANKENLOU's IPA has a massive amount of hops (according to the label - "we use enough hops in this batch of IPA to make three of our other beers"). The result is a big bold mug of hops that I frankly enjoyed. So....what are you listening to tonight?
