KIND OF A SPOILER BECAUSE I saw the raws!

What do you think of Miyuki's recent appearance in Kindaichi 37 year old case files?

I saw this ask so I had to get the raw lol.

Spoiler below... Well not really a spoiler but just in case.

Miyuki did appear in the newest volume, but aside from talking about wanting to meet Reika and how not solving cases doesn't suit Kindaichi, there was not much info there. I kinda expected her to appear in the middle of a case to help Kindaichi (or get dragged into one instead), but here she just casually appeared lol. There's a new case but she doesn't seem to play a role there so at this point I don't really have anything to say. Fingers crossed she'll have a major role soon.

On a related note, Kindaichi 37 was on hiatus for a while (I think the authors worked on the 30th Anniversary series first before continuing 37). I haven't read the 30th Anniversary series, but Kindaichi is wearing his school uniform in the covers and there's a panel of Takatoo in one of the snippets, which makes me kinda more interested in that at least until something big is happening in 37. I'll probably write something if/when the 30th Anniversary series is released here 👀

Young Kindaichi Is All Grown up and Collaborating with Asahi

Former teen detective Kindaichi is 37 years old, and that means he gets to have a drink after a rough case.

Japanese brewery Asahi has teamed up with the creators of The File of 37-Year-Old Kindaichi to promote their new product, Mogitate STRONG. Mogitate is a line of pre-mixed fruit and shochu cocktails popular both in Japan and abroad.

Following the story of the campaign, the grown-up Kindaichi—who now works for the Otowa Black PR firm—is leading an ad campaign for the new beverage. But since it's Kindaichi, mystery won't be far behind. The story will be told in two short manga installments, illustrated by Kindaichi Case Files artist Fumiya Sato.

There will also be a limited run of Mogitate STRONG cans featuring Kindaichi, in honor of the campaign:

Collaborations between anime/manga studios and alcoholic beverages have come under fire in recent years, notably in the case of Studio Trigger's Kirin collaboration. This latest campaign seems to be taking a more cautious approach from the outset, opting for a highly targeted campaign and and almost entirely online presence.

The first installment of the Kindaichi Case Files collab manga hits the web March 26.

I'm currently reading Young 37-year-old Kindaichi's Case Files. Ahh, one of my favourite manga during middle school. The 17-year-old boy I used to love is now 20 years older.

Now he's working with a PR company (I think it's personal relations?) and even though he's sworn not to take any more murder cases, he's still cursed with murder cases to solve lol

I started falling in love with the manga once again. And then it hits me.

I'm also 37.

We're the same age now.
