Now that I’m on my lunch break…

I’m not sure what they would think of 3tan, but I think they would be this kind of reader:

Jin: a silent reader but who probably discuss it with the other members what he thinks about the stories. Most likely loves that he’s portrayed so far as someone who wins the games he plays.

Yoongi: he loves it, we all know it (you can’t deny it, Ryen) but he doesn’t show it.. but the members would catch him every now and then on his phone and get a glimpse of what he’s looking at (which is probably how some of them found it out). And I’m sure he’s the type of reader that leaves anonymous messages with some insightful thoughts about the chapter, and upon seeing the challenges you laid out, he messes with all of us showing up publicly during some curious times (refer this to the ok mr min tag) hahahah

Hobi: he’s in love with the side characters and wants to know everything about them, and looks forward to every drop, be either a chapter or a drabble, and it’s an enthusiastic fan: will hype you up all the time and share this to everyone

Namjoon: this guy! I just know that he is that reader who gives the most thoughtful and insightful feedback! He loves the imagery and the way you write it so poetically and does the same when writing his review/feedback. He also catches the smallest details of the story.

Jimin: he’s a menace, ofc! He was the one who caught Yoongi reading 3tan and was curious enough to look for it and now it’s addicted to the story! He LOVES horny hours and loves to cause chaos and will bring insane ideas for you to write and us to beg you for it. (If horny anon is not Yoongi, like I once thought, then it’s Jimin)

Tae: he’s in love with you! You have a spotlight for his baby, Yeontan, how could he not? Another one that just loves how you write things, but sometimes he gets lost while reading because his mind keeps wandering in this universe, which is why it takes a little time for him to catch up on all the reading and reviews/feedbacks… and sometimes he honestly forgets to send you things. But one thing that he’s the most impressive and will always send you theories that are so spot on that you cannot answer it, afraid to give away too much.

JK: he’s so immersed in this story that he’s feeling a little annoyed that he doesn’t get things the way he would want to! How come reader doesn’t want him anymore? “I would definitely try to use my puppy bunny eyes to convince them that I’m the best choice here” but also is the one who is rooting the hardest for our favorite couple. Wears he hearts on his sleeve, so you can actually watch his reactions to the story in real time: he gets angry, happy, frustrated and boy does he cries!

I often find myself picking apart dialogue in tv shows, movies and written stories and compare it to how real life people talk, and it’s so freaking nice reading your work because the way you describe things and write dialogue makes it feel like a real conversation

it’s not stiff, each character has their speech style defined, you can actually imagine it word for word and it’s so easy to feel like you’re just watching these people interact in front of you

taking 3tan as an example, even in the smut the dirty talk is so so true to how it would be in heated moments, nothing over the top or unrealistic, still insanely hot and simple and real, sounds emitted between lines, etc

just really really love your writing <3

JUICEBOX😭😭 this is incredibly kind of you to say wow.

I do think that dialogue is one of the things i am strongest at, and I know I still have a ways to go on it. But the main goal I always have with speech is to be real and believable, so yay!

It helps saying stuff out loud to see if it sounds just as good as it looks on the page. If it runs on too long, I cut words; if it needs a break in a sentence, that’s where I break it with a comma or period.

So technically, these have been said aloud! Just by me, someone that definitely laughed at themselves saying some of the lines🤣

But yeah! That’s how it’s happened. Thank you so much for this feedback, I’m really glad you like it🥹

Unrequited 3tan!bro theory re:upcoming chapter:

My theory is that 3tan!bro will actually be pretty cool with oc and Yoongi dating. Lemme explain.

For reasons unknown he behaves like his sis is a Victorian maiden who is not allowed to ever think of a man, let alone be in a vicinity of one. Like, if bro had his way, she’d be thinking of England and crocheting warmers for basketballs (I am exaggerating heavily here, don’t come for me) - and we know Yoongi has a reputation that bro is probably far from pleased with.

But now we have them both, literally and figuratively, in the game. The way I see this playing out (and keep in mind Ryen, these are just my delulu thoughts, whatever you come up with will probably be way better than this) is one of the assholes from the other team gets into oc’s face/says something innapropes/derogatory. And Yoongi will straight up lose his fucking mind. At which point bro will have a clarity moment, do a double take between Yoongi and oc and the realization will hit him like a trainwreck that is his absolutely rizz free life. He’s probably gonna be like “this is unexpected… but… sorta makes sense. Fuck it”, which will further baffle/annoy Yoongi and oc. But in bro’s mind, any man who’s as protective of her as Yoongi is in that moment, is worth it.

It doesn’t mean that he won’t try to give Yoongi the obligatory “hurt my sister once and I will destroy you” talk, but we probably all know that’s coming either way.

3tan!bro is the cinnamon roll who looks like they could kill you, but is actually a cinnamon roll in my mind.

Dom turns just in time to see you slap a hand over Yuri’s face, shaking her head at the loudmouth. Yuri gets her credit where it’s due, though. That girl will do anything to get to the bottom of something.

But what is Taehyung doing here? Honestly, this is more shocking than you hiding someone. 

Unless you invited him. Which is fair: you being here alone would definitely be strange since your brother is out of town.

Tae tilts his head when he arrives in front of everyone’s shoes. “What’d you say?”

Reia responds instead, “Is Jimin the one she’s seeing?”

Dom folds her lips to keep from laughing. Because the look on that man’s face is enough of an answer. 

It’s enough to almost break her, so she looks away instead. At you. 

Very, very intently watching something on the court. 

What are you...

Yoongi just passed to Jimin, and he made a shot. Maybe you are seeing Jimin? And Tae’s trying too hard to make it not seem that way?

Dom knows it isn’t Yoongi you’re seeing.

Because if it is, y’all are gonna talk.

But your voice saves Taehyung from blurting out whatever sass is coming, “How about we not talk about this?”

“But I wanna know,” Yuri says in her go-to pleading voice, which can escalate quick if she isn’t stopped, “We saw him pretty cozy with you just now.”

Alright, time to step in.

“Y’all, she said drop it. She’ll tell us when she’s ready.” 

“Dominique! You’re no fun.”

“So? I wouldn’t wanna be grilled like this.” 

It’s true. They’re going a little too hard for people saying they were happy for you seeing someone. 

When she sees you wordlessly thank her, the acknowledgement is just as silent. And the conversation quickly switches to another topic: Yuri’s man-that’s-not-really-her-man, as she calls it. 

Dom calls it bullshit, but that’s their business. They really should just date if both of them can’t seem to stop.

You’re watching the game really carefully again. What the hell?

When Dom follows your vision this time, what she sees on the other end makes her chest cave. 

Yoongi’s staring back at you.

Goddamn it, girl. 

Not him.

Quietly shaking her head, Dom thinks about what the hell to do. On one hand, you seem pretty damn fine. Happy, even. 

But on the other hand, whatever the fuck he did to Amari is something she still hasn’t forgotten. Or forgiven. 

She has to let you know. At least warn you if this is something serious. No way in hell is he gonna do the same thing to you.

“What are you doing here, Tae?”

Dom’s thoughts blink away as she also concentrates on Taehyung’s answer. 

He only shrugs. “I didn’t have any plans.”

Huh? Isn’t he the one that always has plans?

Then Reia asks you what you’re doing here, and Dom has to check her nails to keep her mouth shut. Fuck, you’re even looking at him while you’re lying! Girl! 

Dom quickly scans the court—ignoring the blatant staring from Yoongi while he wipes sweat during Yuri’s man’s freethrows—for a distraction. Damn, he really is fine as hell, but it doesn’t take away from his choices. 

Deciding how to save your ass again, she suddenly intervenes, “Yuri.” 

“Huh?”

“Look at your man at the line. Is he a fucking teapot?”

Everyone bursts into laughter—distracting the rest of the mostly quiet bleachers during the second freethrow—while Yuri’s jaw drops.

“Hey, now wait a second—”

“He reminds me more of a noodle.”

“I was thinking noodle, too!” 

“Y’all!” 

“Yuri, pick: are you team teapot or team noodle?”

“I’m leaving!” 

It seems to work like a charm yet again. Truly, you should be paying her at this point, but it’s all good. 

For the rest of the game, Dom keeps glancing your way.

And with every look, the absolute adoration in your eyes is both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time.

Okay so I was at a winter carnival tonight with my son and my niece. They wanted to play this game because they liked the plushies but I told them there's a good chance we won't get them because I have zero hand eye coordination 😒 Turns out I was actually fairly decent and I got 4 plushies. But as the guy (a really freaking cute guy) was handing us the prizes, he looks right at my son and goes "Your mom's a little hustler, kid."

Long story short, I turned bright red because all I could think of is 3tan Yoongi and yeah.. super embarrassing but what can you do 🙃

I went and read @luaspersona's forfeit review that you linked in the ask game. W O W! It's so amazing and truly a product of love TT I highly recommend that people read it! It's so good omg! I learned a lot from it especially with the usage of tangerines in 3tan. I kinda related to the realism, pacing, author, smut, and character development sections. (I remembered mc's character development better than Yoongi's though...) lua explained these aspects in better detail and words than I ever thought about them. Ryen, your writing and replies to asks are so perfect omg. Thank you so much! Idk if you've answered this aspect of lua's review elsewhere but I'm curious. Is the title of "forfeit" about "losing" the past in order to think of/have a happy/better future? Lua said:

"therefore, yoongi thinks she won’t consider a relationship with him due to his past mistakes, and the reader thinks she’s not really lovable due to all the poor experiences she’s had.

OMG ISNT IT SO DANG INCREDIBLE?? like seriously lua went above and beyond and i just sat there in silent awe the first time i read it all. and i was in my car of all places!

the uses of tangerines throughout the fic is something i was proud to see being noticed! and i'm glad you were able to resonate with the other sections. the reason you probably don't recall yoongi's character development much is that he's very, very lowkey compared to reader. that and the fact that we see his pov a lot less! at least, that's what i can think of.

i'm glad you like both the writing and responses to asks! i have yet to craft a response to the full review but i can answer that here: forfeit is honestly a title with layers. there's a lot of references to "giving up" in that chapter:

yoongi giving up after jk's reveal,

reader giving up and almost leaving,

and the kitchen scene and bedroom scene where they both finally give up their guards, lowering them and becoming the most vulnerable they've been yet.

but it's the last one that's the most important. giving up and letting your guard down? that's strength, and they both demonstrated that so well here.

3tan can certainly be interpreted as how lua did, which is the beauty of it. whatever it means to you? that is what it's about.

As someone who's basically silently read 3tan since it first drop, I'm so proud of you! Writing a series is hard. Keeping that momentum is challenging. Bringing the same characters back over and over again without it becoming repetitive and boring can feel impossible. But you did it! You're still doing it! Even if some readers don't get exactly what they want and get upset, always remember that you're doing something so many of us can't do!

This interlude really shows how much love and care you have for your characters. The fact that you know them so well and have been able to write their povs flawlessly to the point where I can tell them apart by language alone is astounding. Take your time! Enjoy this because we are all so happy and proud of you! The last thing I want is burn out leading to something you're not proud of. Remember to rest.

It's getting cold so don't forget to wear a jacket outside if you're in a part of the US where it's needed. I know I am!

Oh my gosh, Lex!! You are just an angel I can’t even describe how big this made me smile. Thank you so incredibly much for recognizing all of these things.. Wow. I really am so shy right now reading this skdkskd I think you broke me😂😂

Part of why it’s easy to still write for these characters is because I feel like they’re part of my life now. Like they’re people I know, and people that I’m truly invested in. Tbh I wish I could just transfer what I’m imagining onto the paper right away, bc there’s so much I want to write for this entire universe. Like I even wanna write about my boy Shiv, and Yuri and Rohan’s story. Even Reia’s got her own thing going on—there’s just always that friend in the group that doesn’t talk much but really is an angel of a person. So I wanna showcase that more than the phone call reader made in Friends.

It certainly hurt to write the interlude but I wanted to show Yoongi’s flaws. He’s got a lot going on, and I wanted us to see it because we have been going on this journey seeing both of their POVs. This isn’t just a story about reader, it’s a story about Yoongi, as well.

I’ve never done this before, at least to this scale. Because I was thinking about this recently: the written parts amount to 133k, but I didn’t even account for all the ask games, extra drabbles, asks messages, responses to your reviews, etc… holy shit that’s a lot of words💀

Totally aware that burnout can happen, and 100% aware that not all readers are gonna be happy with everything that happens. All I really ask is for y’all to trust me and keep being so fun and engaging. You’re a huge part of the whole journey and process—more than you realize. When I feel overwhelmed or less motivated, I read comments and reviews and asks and feedback form responses SO often. I can’t even tell y’all how many times I’ve been moved to tears or encouraged enough to keep going when I’ve doubted myself. Every single word of feedback helps. So thank you all!!🤍🧡

Okay window is probably my new favorite (I’ve already reread a couple times). Yoongi being so determined to show her how much he’s hers is just chef’s kiss tbh, like where do I get one? Lol. Brat reader is my new fave, even if I think she barely scratched the surface of that Pandora’s box. And I can’t wait to see more because that will be fun. (And this may be me realizing that I also enjoy being a brat whoops) Let’s not even talk about how this is Grammys Yoongi because that look is SO killer. Though I am still reeling about Yoongi at the Lakers game. Sports Yoongi is also something I can barely handle lol.

You really had me screaming at their interruptions. Though the 2nd interruption scene may be my new favorite snippet of 3tan. The tension and release and them finally thinking they’re alone. Which omg Tae’s reveal remains hilarious. And Dom, I love her we all need a bestie like her and like the way she read them to FILTH. Sometimes all it takes is someone else laying out. Since we don’t know where exactly this sits in canon I think it highlights that we saw in flutter and forfeit even more. But damn if that type of behavior isn’t relatable unfortunately. Their communication has gotten so much better and that’s so important, personally I think it’s the key to all relationships (platonic or not). If or when brother finds out, it’ll be very very interesting.

dom and tae in this one?? fck. i love them both. as far as reader's behavior, it's definitely showcasing that they aren't perfect and still have things to work on. but that's all of us, you know? none of us are perfect, so my characters don't get that pass to be the ideal person. we're all gonna fail at times, and so will they. it's about the learning process and how they handle things, which i think was handled very nicely by the both of them when they finally spoke.

3tan yoongi! which is definitely a win for everyone bc it looks like that's what a bunch of people are wanting more of (based on the results of the interlude survey!) he's just a source of comfort to write and has been the easiest to work with.

You chuckle, reaching for a napkin to play with its edges. “If he does end up trying anything, I can handle him.” 

“I don’t doubt that,” Yoongi agrees. And you absentmindedly mess with the material before he adds, “But if you can’t handle him by yourself, I’d be more than happy to help.” 

Flicking the cloth one last time, you fold your arms and shoot your friend a smirk. “You’re itching for a reason to fight someone, huh? Been too long, I assume?” 

Yoongi returns your smirk with one of his own. “Way too damn long,” he notes through a laugh, nostalgic with a flurry of memories from your collegiate days. “I think I’ve even grown soft.” 

“You were always soft,” you counter. When he settles into a small smile, you reassure him, “But of course I’ll let you know if I need anything. I just don’t think that’ll be necessary.”
