if roman is gonna be exploring his sexuality w men in s4 do you think that means romangerri is dead for good 😭😭
i'm gonna start by saying it is so so way too early to speculate on full storylines in season 4 considering the writers just barely got back in the room and i'm guessing they don't have the full season figured out...but for funsies let's do it anyway lol
short answer: i don't think j is going anywhere and i think roman and gerri's stories and character development are too tied up in each other to suddenly go to nothing. there will be things in season 4 for them together and in regards to each other. that being said...no happy endings is the motto!
long answer about a couple things i think we could possibly see for roman and gerri in season 4 below the cut. and when i say long answer, i mean long answer lmao sorry!
first and foremost, i think they're gonna have to acknowledge the fracture that results from the way season 3 ended. they've had minor tiffs (shareholder meeting, dick pic convo), but i think it would be very sexy delicious for them to have a proper fight about it. kieran and j have both said something to the effect of "gerri wanted to help him, and roman knew she wanted to help him, but there was just nothing she could've done", so what is the outcome of that? i think even if roman knows gerri's intentions weren't to hurt him, he could very well be embarrassed/hurt by how it all went down, and we've seen that when he's embarrassed/hurt, he runs and/or shuts down. or, alternatively, he could confront her about it, they could argue, but it would be a moot point because, again, there's nothing she could've done. i think if they have a real argument about it, they hit an impasse and decide to put some distance between themselves slash take some time apart from their relationship/alliance/whatever you want to call it.
then there's the mencken of it all...
so in rewatching the roman/mencken exchange in 3x06, i think it makes sense that he may became a major player in roman's season four storyline. one of the things that stood out to me when it aired and again when rewatching was the way he does the "i wanted to talk to you about something" line that he does to gerri in 3x02. it's not the same kind of conversation and he's not really asking the same thing of mencken that he was asking of her, but the familiarity of the way he so easily finds himself conspiring with jeryd (sp?) from that point is obviously reminiscent of the way he is used to conspiring with gerri.
i also think the whole pick the president thing will come back big because, if we're following the show's timeline and caroline's wedding was in june, a theoretical "republican national convention", which they reference frequently in 3x06, would likely take place in august, and obvi election would be november. if they lean on needing the president's help to get the deal done, or to keep the regulatory antitrust stuff from stopping them, whatever, then yeah maybe the focal point (because for two and half seasons the focal point was the shareholder meeting lol) is the election.
it's also like...we're moving past the point where the titular succession is about succeeding logan. i think if they hone in on the politics of it all in season 4, it would be about "succession" in the sense of who will be next to succeed the role of president
all that to say MY idealized roman/gerri season long arc for season 4 would be that they have a little fight and take a little "break", roman gets in too deep with the politics/mencken of it all, becomes a little bit enamored with him, tries to fuck him and gets fucked over because of it. i think if something went disastrously with mencken, especially if it had to do with sex or something he was embarrassed/ashamed of, he wouldn't look to his siblings for advice, he'd come back to gerri looking for help. alternatively, maybe it looks like roman going down the politics rabbit hole and gerri, realizing that she does genuinely care about his wellbeing and seeing that he's going a little insane, tries to pull him back out of it.
and that's really more if it goes down the roman/mencken route! i think there's a case to be made that he goes in that same direction but with lukas – he's like i'll endear myself to the new boss because i've got good ideas and he likes me and instead of taking over for dad i'll just take this all over from him in a few years, things goes haywire, he comes back to gerri for help or gerri has to save damsel-in-distress roman
all of that also to say that doesn't factor in a lot of other show-wide things! like sibling stuff – i genuinely don't know what the writers have in mind for the three kids and the fallout of logan deciding to sell, which could also dramatically shift all of their storylines. what about logan and gerri's relationship in the wake of her sexting with his son? do we come back to that at all? where does tom's thing come into all of this? who knows!

This past week: A summary
1. We have had an influx of promos over the past few days, mainly compiled of footage from seasons 1 and 2 with some additional unseen footage from season 3 that the fandom has been alternately salivating and freaking out over.
 • We have another shot of what the fandom is 100% sure is Rio’s hand, placing a gun (notably not his infamous golden gun) in front of a computer. (https://www.instagram.com/p/B8bs4_9JzuS/?igshid=7jx2mam2rss7).
Tumblr media
The majority of the voiceover from Beth is from quotes in seasons 1 and 2, although she does state “This person that you knew, they’re just gone”, potentially in the same scene as in the promo below with the customer.
• Beth is clearly struggling with the guilt and trauma of shooting Rio in another promo (https://ggfanatic0.tumblr.com/post/190764519813/new-teaser), wondering in front of a perturbed customer “It’s a shock when someone dies. The lights go out. One last breath. It’s so weird. Cause like did you ever know him at all?”
• Another promo (https://twitter.com/NBCGoodGirls/status/1225926582839074818) with a voiceover from Rio sent the fandom into a frenzy, as we all attempted to discern what he was saying. Our collective efforts have unveiled:
“She tried to put me away.
But she didn’t think things through.
You wanna be the king you gotta kill the king (1x10)
I know her entire bag of tricks
She’s no good / she’s my girl (You guessed it, we are freaked. It most likely is she’s no good)
But we both know how this ends.”
Could he be speaking to Turner? Or another character?
• A Ruby and Stan centric promo was also released, compiled of footage from seasons 1 and 2 (https://twitter.com/NBCGoodGirls/status/1225926715966255104). While there was season 3 footage of Ruby involved with making counterfeit cash and the girls entering a graveyard with spades, there was no new footage.
• We got our first look at JT in season 3, with the girls standing in front of him at the Qwik Cash counter and him saying “you just levelled up” and the girls laughing and smiling. (https://hereliesbethboland.tumblr.com/post/190709556247/came-across-this-its-not-really-new-hahah)
2. A video where members of the cast (Retta, Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman, Reno Wilson and Matthew Lillard) answered questions regarding season 3 became available.
• Interestingly, certain segments of this video have the voices of the cast blanked out, potentially due to spoilers.
• A huge emphasis has been placed on the efforts the girls will exert in making their counterfeit cash appear legit.
• It has been confirmed that Ruby works in the nail salon for access to chemicals, Beth in the paper store for access to printers and Annie’s valet job was chosen as she would be in receipt of many $1 bills.
• Reno dropped something interesting when asked why people should watch season 3, stating that “extraneous family members get pulled in”. Could we be meeting the extended Hill family or new family members of other characters? Could this refer to the kids being drawn into what their parents are trying to protect them from?
• Matthew Lillard gushed over Manny Montana. He also enjoyed teasing fans by saying that he knows what happened to Rio’s characters after 2x13, that Beth are Dean’s relationship is “ever growing” and Beansie is sexier than Brio. Lol.
• Mae implied that Annie may be slightly less impulsive and more well-rounded, while retaining the qualities that we love!
• Christina and Mae touched on the topic of when the girls should stop, whether they want to stop and their changing reasons for being involved with crime, with Christina stating that their reasons may be more selfish.
3. According to IMDB, Rob Heaps will play Dr Josh Cohen from 3x02 to 3x11. Whose doctor could he be? Or do the girls rope him into their business?
Tumblr media
4. A promotional video titled Rinse and Repeat: Get the Dirt on Good Girls was released, featuring 2 ladies in a laundromat discussing and gushing over the last two seasons of the show, with some additional comments from other viewers in the laundromat.
5. The second episode of The Influence of Good Girls, featuring Manny Montana, and aptly named The Crime King was released.
• Manny said that he likes when Beth “gets the jump on Rio”.
• He views Beth and Rio’s motives as being no different, as he has a son and a family as well. He also feels that just as Beth is enamoured with the world that Rio exists in, Rio is also enamoured by the world she occupies.
• He addressed the car scene between Beth and Rio in 2x12, stating that he thinks Rio both does and does not view Beth as work; he viewed her as work from day 1 but he slipped at some point.
• He discussed with Jenna Bans how Rio could ever work with and trust Beth after the events of 2x13, stating that “the way they wrote it, it just made perfect, perfect, perfect sense” and “it’s so good”.
• He feels that season 3 is on a different level, with everybody going through something different and doing their own thing. This may imply that Rio has a few more scenes outwith the girls?
• His favourite storyline this season is Stan’s and we are now terrified for our favourite cinnamon roll.
• He admires Beth for having the balls to take on Rio and try to take over. “It’s a scary world she’s in.”
6. The third episode of The Influence of Good Girls, titled The Perfect Heist, was released.
7. NBC continues to shock, by acknowledging that Good Girls exists and ramping up their promotional efforts, with billboards, posters and by mentioning the show on their official twitter.

Happy birthday! My fandom question is: if you could go back and change 3 things about the show, how would you change the show?
Thank you! Sorry it took me three days to respond, lol.
Oh man, just three? I feel like I toil in headcanon about 70% of the time as it is, haha. So much so, I often forget that what I think about the characters has never been explicitly spelled out onscreen. There are definitely a few moments that I tend to see as most promising for canon divergence, however.
1 - No Pike rebellion. I’ve mentioned this before, but for a brief, glimmering moment, around 3x02, I got myself way too hyped for a future this show was never planning on actually delivering. I’d still love to see a version of this show where Pike never rebels, Lexa never dies, Lincoln is never killed, and Skaikru becomes The Thirteenth Clan. It’d be a very different show, about the sky people integrating with the grounders, restarting society with their technology, and the grounders’ knowledge of the land. Different conflicts entirely would arise out of this - hopefully in an organic way, as we’d explore the differences between the Clans, and get more background on how exactly grounder culture developed.
2 - Alternatively, Pike does rebel, but Lincoln survives. I know the writers had a different plotline planned for him, before Ricky Whittle departed from the show. I’d really love to know what that plotline was, and how it, in turn, impacted Octavia’s. Her downfall really starts with Pike executing Lincoln - would she have undergone the same downward spiral, if that trauma hadn’t taken place? I don’t think so. So what would have happened to her instead?
3 - I’m not as certain about this one now, but I do think a better version of Clarke’s arc exists with a true sacrifice in Praimfaya. It’s not a secret that I haven’t been a huge fan of her storyline since 4x13, and I honestly think it would’ve made more sense for her core characteristics, and for the show as a whole, to have her make an early exit. It would have been genuinely surprising, and I think the show changes distractly from there.
This, of course, is predicated on me not shipping her and Bellamy, and on me not really believing or supporting their current dynamic. A lot of people see it the opposite way, and I get that. Still, though - I’m not sure how this series will end, now, and I can’t imagine Clarke making a meaningful sacrifice with her death anymore, not when she’s essentially “died” twice in two seasons. Does that mean Bellamy will die instead? Will they both survive? I just don’t see this show having a happy ending.
For me, a satisfying ending for Clarke would’ve been that sacrifice being real, and permanent. That was the first time she really put herself on the line, and wasn’t forced to instead sacrifice others for the greater good. It suited her, the person she always claimed to be, and I think it will be tough for the series to find an equally satisfying end for her now.
But, to be honest, I feel the same way about Octavia and the s5 finale, and I’m ride or die for Octavia. In a show this grim, it’s hard to not imagine anything other that a glorious death for some of these characters.

The 100 4x01 & Parallels
I cant stop thinking about The 100 Season 4 premiere and all the parallels that were in it. Then I realized THE TITLE OF THE EPISODE WAS “ECHOES””! Prior to viewing it, I had thought this was a nod to Echo the character and the  role she would play in the episode (and seemingly the season). Now I realize, while it is this, it is also several other things. “Echoes” is also a reference to the fact that everyone is dealing with what happened in The City of Light; the echoes of that place and their time there are reverberating. The title is also a reference to the numerous call backs and parallels throughout the episode, the latter of which I want to talk about. (In a very messy, non-linear, nonsensical way. If anyone is actually reading this....sorry).
~~While in Titus’...office?? (lol), Abby stops to unnecessarily check & re-bandage Kanes wrist wound. This is reminiscent of when Clarke stopped to unnecessary check & re-bandage Bellamys hand at the end of “Nevermore.” (Kabby & Bellarke parallels. Give. Me. Them. ALL.)
~~Jaha carries a shrouded Octavia into the Azgeda chambers, echoing the way Bellamy carried a shrouded Lincoln last season. (Linctavia! *tear*)
~~Bellamy saying to Echo “The alternative is war. Is that what you want?” Which reminds us of Clarke saying to him in 3x05, “Please tell me going to war is not what you want.”
~~The ENTIRE Roan & Echo scene that happens after she locks up Skai Kru (which I’m realizing now is really a call back and not a true parallel, but oh well)! The image of Roan heating the knife in the fire, then cauterizing his own wound-- absolutely a call back to 3x02 when he did the exact same thing with Clarke in the subway. He and Echo even talk about the same thing he Clarke do in that scene-- his banishment from Azgeda and how he can return to his people.  ~~Later, Roan and Clarke will even reference this same 3x02 scene themselves, when he says to her “I want what is best for my people, SAME AS YOU.” This is referencing Clarke repeatedly saying these words to him, trying to convince him that they aren’t so different. At the time he says hes “nothing like [her].” (Now it seems they’ve come to an understanding.)
~~Clarke with a bag over her head. Being dragged through Polis to stand before the Grounder leader. Again, a 3x02 reference. But this time, instead of Roan being the one taking her, it is Roan she is being taken TO. We have come full circle.            ~~She is even referred to as “Wanheda” in both scenes. She is not Clarke here. She is a figurehead. A symbol of power. A pawn.
I’m sure there is more. I’m sure I’ve had 2 glasses of wine. I’m sure that The 100 is favorite show ever. What I’m not sure of is if any of that makes sense. But I feel better now, so. *shrug*
