Following a year discovering that “Love Comes to Everyone” with his marriage to Olivia and the birth of Dhani, George Harrison went back into the recording studios to record his eighth album, which was released #40YearsAgo.  In addition to Harrison, the album has several other contributing musicians including Steve Winwood, Gary Wright, and Eric Clapton.

Warmly received by music critics, the self-titled album is seen as one of his best after “All Things Must Pass”.  The album peaked at number 14 in the United States, with the single “Blow Away” reaching number 16.  In addition, the album includes the single, “Not Guilty”, which he originally recorded with the Beatles for the White Album.  The album also includes a lyrical follow up to the Abbey Road hit - “Here Comes The Sun” titled “Here Comes the Moon” as well as “Faster” - a tribute to his Formula One racing friends.

Borneo Memories in Digital Stained Glass - Boy Riding a Water Buffalo **************************** Forty years ago I spent a year teaching English As A Second Language classes for a mission. On weekends and other days off I and another volunteer teacher were able to explore the city where I lived, Balikpapan, and the beautiful province of Kalimantan Timur, (East Borneo), in Indonesia. 🇮🇩 We got around on 2 small motorcycles and occasional trips with our host, the mission pilot. I choose three pictures and used apps to tweak the original photo and to create the “stained glass” effect. #40YearsAgo, Both Bruce Springsteen and Peter Gabriel released albums. fro Bruce it was his fourth album and for Peter it was his second self-titled album.

Although it did not do as well as his first album, it was still well received by critics.  British Rock Critic  Nick Kent claimed "its brazenly left-field veneer left me cold at first, and it's only now that its strengths are starting to come across ... once past the disarming non-focus veneer, there's a quietly remarkable talent at work – quiet in the manner of the slow fuse burn of "Mother of Violence" with Roy Bittan's piano work outstripping anything he's turned out for either Bruce Springsteen or David Bowie. Closer to the root of the album, there's a purity, a strength to the songs individual enough to mark Gabriel out as a man whose creative zenith is close at hand."

Darkness on the Edge of Town - Bruce Springsteen

After a three-year gap due to contractual disputes, Bruce released his forth album with much critical acclaim despite limited commercial success.  Reviews for Darkness on the Edge of Town were overwhelmingly positive. Critics notably praised the maturity of the album's themes and lyrics. It remains one of Springsteen's most highly regarded records by both fans and critics and several of its songs have become staples of Springsteen's live performances.  There were no huge hit singles from the album, but “Prove It All Night” and “Badlands” did reach 33 & 42 respectively on the charts with the album reaching number 5 on the Billboard Pop Charts.
