#I think s8 is a Fascinating season for their relationship lol#8A sam is like. closed-off to dean barely just recovered from the events of s7 getting back to his SEASON ONE mindset#8A dean is so sooo angry at sam and constantly externalizing it but then moments later talking abt how Right it is that they’re together#sam’s like if you want us to stay together so bad why aren’t you communicating with me why are you lying to me why are you punishing me for#wanting things you once wanted for me too#dean’s like please stop talking you are such a NAG but also don’t you dare walk away from me we’re past that point#8B sam remembers his place. what was he thinking. how could he have let dean down so badly.#8B dean is bewildered as to why sam is throwing himself into the trials with such disregard for his health#8B dean sees sam wanting to die bc of his perceived failures as a partner to dean (that dean himself reinforced all season) and says#noooo don’t kill yourself bc you’re right abt all that shit however you’re still my number one girl <3#re: dean being tortured by it - he was in a very dean-typical way lol. see taxi driver as a key example#spn
