zurie had been gutted when she found out she was working the afternoon shift the same day the spring carnival was popping up in the mall's main plaza. she'd become resigned to the fact that she'd miss out on the busiest periods of the festivities, which may have been a plus for most. zurie could only mope about the prospect of less people, however. as she exited sephora, she was surprised to hear continued commotion coming from the plaza. she hurried over to the side of the mezzanine to see that the sky was tinged with dusky hues and the twirling lights of the carnival were still in full effect, enhanced by the impending nightfall.

like a child on christmas morning, something zurie had ironically never really experienced, she journeyed down the countless stairs it took to get there with eyes widened. the scent of various carnival foods hit zurie like a freight train and she nearly sped off in that direction immediately, but she knew she had to be strategic. the main reason zurie was even hitting up the carnival, aside from the company, was to fill up on free food so she didn't have to buy or make dinner later. some people thought she seemed like an airhead, but she was always calculating her best bet for survival out of habitual necessity. still, she'd save all that for later, as she didn't want to tackle any rides on a full stomach.

it also occurred to her that coworkers and friends would likely be attending too, and as if on cue, she spotted jaewon among the crowd. "hey! hey, jaewon!" she waved to him like a maniac, as if anyone would be able to miss her. she took initiative to slide through the crowd to greet him, getting uncomfortably close to many people only to simply cast an oblivious and innocently enthusiastic 'hi!' their way. it was in that moment she realized she still had smudges of lipstick test trails on the back of her hand from her most recent consultation. "jaewon, isn't it exciting?" she inquired of him, still brimming with joy at the amount of people around.

yes so i watched the heathers movie for the first time in a while with a friend yesterday, and it was frickin amazing i just love how christian slater (the actor who plays the psycho boyfriend jason dean) is just so jittery in his movements and creates a perfect balance of making you feel uneasy around him but also feel drawn in and want to know more about him. he really gives off a unstable, psychopathic vibe, especially at the end where he’s trying to blow up the school, but it’s also interesting to compare his performance with an actor from the musical version of heathers, particularly jamie muscato from the west end version of heathers. i am in love with jamie’s performance, he has the same shaky movements and hunched back as christian slater and also ryan mccartan from the off-broadway production of heathers, but what makes jamie’s performance so special is that even though he’s a psychopath, you can tell that he’s actually a teenager and still unsure in his movements, and this is really seen in meant to be yours because it’s like he’s switching back and forth of two different personalities in the show, sometimes being just an anxious young boy who’s lost in his world, as he paces around and pulls at his shirt, hunching over while making jerky movements and furrowing his eyebrows. i guess in a way this isn’t very comparable to christian slater who doesn’t have to sing a song in the heathers movie, but i just wanted to talk about how amazing i think jamie is at performing, especially as he often gets overlooked for his weird accent (he puts on a strange mish-mash of american accents to show how much he’s been moved around in his life that he hasn’t even developed one singular accent), and the fact that a lot of the heathers musical fandom don’t really like the west end version of heathers anyway, just because it’s not the same as the original off-broadway one.

It's been a while since I've asked anything. So, how would the DMD boys feel that bell-bottom pants and other styles of 70s fashion have been making a HUGE comeback in the last few years? I imagine them going crazy over all the pictures of modern-day people wearing things inspired by 70s fashion!

This ask reminded me alskdjfhg your last question struck such a chord with me that I immediately turned the answer into a drabble which became a full length Golden Years oneshot which is.......somewhere. Mostly finished already. I'll go see if I can't dig it up after this.

To answer this question, though: They'd be overjoyed!!

Sun would be ecstatic about his era being seen as anything more than a fad of the past, and he'd love seeing what people were doing with it nowadays!

Moon would be a bit more picky ("They aren't even wearing it right! Have you seen what they're doing with the Bedazzler these days? It's like they don't even care about color choreography!") but it's just his own way of showing excitement. He's sure people will learn to respect the right way to wear 70s fashion eventually lmao
