I think it's safe to theorize that when they finally start renovating/fixing up they're going to find something and that's going to trigger the fallout. Plus the whole "Devil You Know" tagline and like it would be a hella twist. I'd rather it not be that way, because Athena has gone through enough trauma but like, it's also kinda on brand for Fox at this point ?

So if we had to pay 50 stars to unlock each character ending for CTC, do you think we’re going to have to do that with the new story too?? It was a shitty move making us pay to begin with, especially after such a short story and it was made worse by the fact that it was 4 character endings, which meant that it came to 200 stars all up. I mean I know why they did it, by making it short and all one route they needed to make money somehow. It was purely a money grab. But that makes me wonder if this is going to become a regular thing? Have a (small) main story with all the characters instead of specific routes, then make the players buy the ending they want. I really hope that isn’t the case, they’re beyond treading on thin ice at this point. If they did that, they’d pretty much lose the rest of their players most likely.

I am also annoyed though, with the way they set the story up to make it look like it was another poly story, (which I thought was really neat! I love poly stories!) but to have it end by picking a specific character ending. It’s so stupid. And it throws the whole story out. Like all of these people like you and your character is set up to like them back and you can romance everyone but oh, wait! You now have to choose who you love more. It’s ridiculous and makes things more complicated then they need to be! (And by doing that it means we have to hurt the feelings of other characters too)….

…And in my opinion, it was yet again luring people in with one narrative then changing it once you had our attention (and money). It’s not cool my dudes. I don’t like being forced to choose between characters when you’ve set the whole story up to be able to romance everyone. When it’s like LL (among others) where you have your intro and then your specific character routes, I’m fine with that. That’s cool! That makes sense! It means each character gets a decent amount of screen time and bonus scenes ect. And it also gives room for natural relationship progression & character development. Instead of being forced into a 7 chapter story with 3 other LI’s where everyone is meeting in chapter 1, and practically engaged by chapter 3, and has solved all their problems and is a whole new person by chapter 6. *cough cough* Tess *cough cough* (that being said, if you’re a female LI, a 7 chapter story with rushed feeling and like 2 seconds of screen time with the LI is all you really get🧐)

But yet again, they’ve had so much potential with a story and have proceeded to shit all over it just so they could fall back into the stereotypes they seem to love so much and so they could make money. What’s the point of all of their talk about diversity and breaking the mould and stuff if they continue to keep themselves locked in a tiny little box where their only option is to just keep on rewriting the same story/characters over and over and over again? It’s so limiting and sad. Makes me wonder how much freedom the writers and artists at nix hydra truely get.

If you’re gonna make a poly route. Make a poly route! If you wanna make separate character routes. Make separate character routes! Stop making things harder than they need to be. And the luring players into new stories under false pretences? (looking at you IOE! Not being able to romance Billie??) can we leave that here? Please? It’s getting ridiculous!
