ALSO i did not realize that hannibal the tv series was based on ALL of the hannibal books. i thought it was just red dragon but it's NOT its ALL of them and i am living for this realization while reading these books bc i can see how the details from them all are being mixed and melded together to form the masterpiece that is hannibal tv and im LOVING that

#hannibal #like will and hannibal's backstory comes from red dragon #and miriam lass is just clarice starling except minus the buffalo bill part #and SHE gets book will's realization that hannibal is the killer (the noticing the piece of art that tips him off)#and then the vergers come from the third book #and francis dolarhyde in s3 is from red dragon #and i have only read 100 pages of the third book so far but im p sure italy is a heavy influence in it — which ofc matches the later season #idk i just love the way the show took these ideas and stayed true to some of them but also while still putting their own flare on it #its good its really good #ALSO im curious to see if bedelia ever shows up in the books #i LOVE her in the show
