Incredibly funny to me how the guy who draws the Animorphs graphic novels draws animals in a simple yet realistic manner, like he's definitely looking at references when drawing them, and then everything else looks like...that.

#like...come on dude for real?#it's so wild because considering he has to have animals references on hand he HAS had to have seen several photos of horses.#you know. famously a somewhat similar animal to deer at least a little bit #at least enough to make you think 'hmmm. horse ears look and work like this.' which should probably prompt you to.#idk. look at deer ears. because i feel like that is something you might want to do when one of your protagonists IS in fact partly #a goddamn deer. and HAS deer ears. 'oh it's just one chara-' YOUR BIG BAD IS ALSO A FUCKING DEER.#AND THE BROTHER OF YOUR HALF-DEER PROTAGONIST IS ALSO A DEER. AND YOU KEEP DRAWING THEM ALL WRONG THAT IS NOT WHAT DEER EARS MOVE #LIKE. it drives me irrationally mad because it's just like. if you have deer you need to commit to it.#i don't care what it takes how many muscles you have to add how much you need to rearrange the facial structure #by god their ears will be expressive just like deer ears
