APAP 2019 — VoicePlay live performances

Every trip to the Association of Performing Arts Professionals annual conference in NYC included a showcase concert to show off the guys' talents for potential show bookers. The setlists they put together each year included a combination of established crowd pleasers and new material that demonstrated the breadth of their repertoire. These two recordings are great examples of their appeal.

This medley was incredibly impressive when they released their videos with professional audio recording and mixing, and the ability to record as many takes as they wanted. Seeing the guys tackle it live might be even more astounding.

This medley was originally released in two parts, with a week-long cliffhanger between "The Ballad of Mona Lisa" and "This Is Gospel". Clips from those videos play on the screen behind them as they perform it live.

This number was a longtime fan favorite at VoicePlay's live shows. The bandmates often refer to each other as brothers, and that comes with the occasional bickering. Luckily for us, this battle for the spotlight is entertaining as heck and (as far as I know) only pretend.

Healing my tought

Healing my Tought. Aku ingin mengobati pikiran ku. Sudah dua hari ini, terhitung sejak hari kamis sampai jumat aku hanya diam di kamar seharian dan do nothing. Aku benar-benar diem dan bengong sembari ditambah nangis-nangis mewek. Liat hape-Bukasosmed-Diem-Bengong. Seperti itu berulang-ulang. Dan mulai hari Sabtu aku akan mulai untuk benar-benar healing my tought dengan tidak buka hape maupun sosmed terkecuali utk email dan tumblr.

Aku gatau kenapa, dua hari ini pikiran ku kacau sekali, sangat kacau. Sebagian besar dikarenakan melihat sosmed yang banyak dipenuhi dengan snapgram maupun postingan teman-teman ku yang wisuda. Setiap melihat postingan itu aku terdiam-bengong-mikir-nangis. Seperti itu seterusnya.

Bukan, bukan. Sama sekali bukan karena aku iri melihat kebahagiaan teman-teman ku. Bukan, Naudzubillah. Jujur…

Aku nangis, karena..

Aku menyesal, sangat-sangat-sangat menyesal, kenapa aku tidak bisa hadir tepat waktu di wisuda teman-teman dan sahabat terbaik ku saat hari pertama dan tidak jadi hadir juga saat hari kedua. Makanya saat melihat postingan wisuda mereka, saat itu pula air mata ku menetes, aku yang terlalu jahat tidak bisa hadir di momen kebahagiaan mereka, tidak bisa melihat senyuman lega yang terlukis di wajah mereka, dan tidak bisa menyalami sambil mengucapkan doa-doa untuk mereka. Aku, sedih.

Sekilas cerita mengapa aku tidak bisa hadir di dua hari tersebut, padahal sudah aku rencanakan jauh-jauh hari. Hari rabu atau satu hari sebelum wisuda ialah hari aku melaksanakan seminar usulan penelitian, dan pada hari itu aku merasakan pikiran yang sangat kacau, berantakan dan badan yang sangat lelah sekali. Pasalnya saat seminar UP berlangsung, aku mendapat pertanyaan yang tidak bisa aku jawab dan perbaikan draft usulan yang membuat aku pusing bgt. Setelah hal itu lah pikiran ku menjadi kacau dan bingung, dan karena itu hatiku seperti ingin lebih banyak ketenangan, ingin menjauh dari hiruk pikuk dunia dan keramaian dan tidak ingin bertemu banyak orang. Maka dari itu, malam nya aku sangat dilanda kebingungan.. hatiku banyak berbisik ingin ketenangan dan tidak ingin keramaian, namun hati lain berbicara untuk jangan melewatkan momen kebahagiaan org lain karena mungkin dengan kehadiran kita, orang tersebut akan senang dan siapa tahu kebaikan dari membahagiakan orang lain akan dicatat. Begitulah hati kecilku berbicara.

Tengah malam, aku memutuskan untuk YA! BESOK DATANG! Meskipun kamu akan menemukan hiruk pikuk dan keramaian namun keegoan ku itu harus aku tepis sebentar. Pagi hari nya, aku masih sedikit bengang-bengong memikirkan keruwetan pikiran ku kemarin saat UP, sembari aku mengontak teman ku yang ingin bareng naik motor. Kami janjian berangkat jam 11, fix dan aku siap-siap. Qadarullah, saat aku sudah rapi, pakai baju, tinggal pakai jilbab dan caw namun ternyata ada suatu kendala yang menuntut kita untuk menunggu kabar si empu nya motor, dan ternyata kita baru bisa memakai motor nya jam 16. Ditengh kelabilan antara kita tetap caw namun sudah kesorean atau tidak jadi caw. Akhirnya kami memilih untuk tetap caw apapun yang terjadi nanti. Dan… ternyata jalan nya macet bangeeeet sampe akhirnya kami sampe di DU jam 18. Kami sampai disana dan wisudawan sudah pada bubar, aku hanya menemukan dua sampai tiga teman ku yang tersisa. Disitu…… rasa nya aku ingin…… huhuhuhuhu aku benar-benar tidak bisa menggambarkan perasaan ku saat ituuuuu )))))):

Setelah itu, malam nya aku memutuskan untuk menginap di asrama teman ku yang terletak di Bandung, dengan alasan agar besok nya aku bisa menghadiri wisuda teman ku yang disesi pagi. Akhirnya aku menginap namun lagi-lagi Qadarullah pagi hari nya jam 5 aku disuruh balik ke nangor karena motor nya mau dipakai. Karena malam nya aku baru tidur jam 3 sampe jam set5, akhirnya aku otw ke nangor jam set7 agar tidak mengantuk saat menyetir dan mengendarai sampe nangor. Kamipun otw dan sampe Nangor jam 8.

Setelah sampai Nangor, aku langsung menghubungi teman ku lagi untukkita harus caw lagi ke Bandung agar bisa menghadiri wisuda teman ku yang sesi pagi. Qadarullah lagi.. tba-tiba perut ku sakit sekali, badan ku pada sakit dan kreteq karena habis menyetir PP Bandung-Nangor plus mata ku benar-benar lengket sekali untuk dibuka, karena hal itu lah aku takut gakuat untuk menyetir kembali PP Ke Bandung, takut nya akan terjadi apa-apa. Aku pun tepar dan menghilang dari chat an teman ku. Dan… karena hal itu aku, lahi-lagi, tidak jadi datang ke wisudaan teman-teman ku.

Ya Allah, aku sedih, bgt. Aku gakuat melihat postingan-postingan mereka yang bahagia sekali, namun aku tidak bisa menyempatkan hadir. Yaa walaupun aku sadar dan sangat-sangat menyadari, siapa lah aku dan apapenting nya diriku hadir-tidak nya di wisudaan mereka, namun ada rasa yang tidak lega ketika teman-teman ku, dekat, seangkatan, seperjuangan, namun tidak bisa hadir di momen mereka. Aku kecewa dengan diriku sendiri. Aku merenung seharian...

Aku bengong karena.. Aku takut. Jujur, aku takut nanti aku wisuda tidak bareng teman-teman ku. Teman-teman dekat ku sudah banyak banget yang sedang mengejar kompe dan lulus, its mean.. mereka akan wisuda November nanti. Namun aku, perjuangan ku masih panjang dan aku pesimis bisa wisuda bareng mereka. Disituuu.. perasaan ku kalut sekali, jujur. Kalut sekali. Aku belum bisa membayangkan wisuda tidak dengan teman-teman baik dan terdekat ku, teman-teman yang selama ini menemani perjuangan ku. Aku takut akan wisuda sendiri. Aku takut. Banget. Makanya disitu aku bengong terus…

Aku terdiam karena… Jujur. Aku masih merasa dan berfikir nanti kalo aku ga wisuda bareng temen-temen deket aku, siapa yang akan menemani ku? Apa aku akan merasakan kesendirian lagi? Ya. Aku masih takut tentang hal itu.

Aku mikir keras karena… Aku jadi mikir lagi dengan hidup ku, tujuan hidupku, hakikat hidup, dan seputarnya. Aku berjuang lulus karena apa, dan berjuang bisa wisuda karena apa, kalo udah lulus bakal apa, kalo lulus nya ga bareng mereka, November nanti apa aku bakal ikhas menerima ketetapan itu, dan lain-lain, beragam pertnyaan tentang hakikat terus bermunculan. Kebingungan ku bertambah dan aku makin stress.

Maka dari itu, aku ingin mengobati semua nya. Aku ingin mencari lagi hakikat hidup dan tujuan hidup ku ini, hakikat keikhlasan,kemurnian hati dan niat, menguatkan pemahaman-pemahaman tentang takdir Allah, dan lain-lain. Aku ingin mencari itu semua. Entah bagaimana caranya, aku juga bingung.

India to be a co-chair of regional forum to conserve wildlife habitats

NEW DELHI: After successfully increasing population of wild animals such as tigers, lions and leopards through protecting their habitats, India will be the co-chair of the IUCN-supported Asia Protected Areas Partnership (APAP) for three years and it would, in this capacity, assist other Asian countries in managing their protected areas. The APAP is a regional platform to help governments and other stakeholders to collaborate for more effective management of protected areas (PA) in the region. The APAP currently consists of 21 members from 17 countries including China, Japan, South Korea, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The APAP, formally launched at the IUCN World Parks Congress in Australia in 2014, is chaired by IUCN Asia and co-chaired by an APAP country member. India will replace South Korea which held this position for three years till November, 2020.

“As co-chair, India will play a pivotal leadership role in addressing and assisting the countries of Asia Region on conservation agenda and ‘protected area management’ at country as well as transboundary cooperation levels,” said Vivek Saxena, country representative, International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

He said, “India has a number of success stories such conservation of tiger, elephant, Asiatic lion, snow leopard, Great Indian Bustard, Indian Gangetic Dolphin and a number of other flagship species which can be showcased at international level through the platform of APAP.” India had in December released its leopard population estimates, showing an increase of 62% in its number in four year – from 7,910 in 2014 to 12,852 in 2018. Similarly, it recorded 29% increase in population of Asiatic Lions, living in Gujarat Gir Forest, in the past five years – from 523 in 2015 to 674 in 2020.

In 2019, the country had released population data of tigers showing an increase of 33% in the number of big cats – from 2,226 in 2014 to 2,967 in 2018, making India a home to 75% of the tiger’s global population.

Meds in China

I've just accepted a job teaching and China and will be leaving to start working there next month. I'm super excited about it, but I have a couple of concerns regarding my medication which I am prescribed here in the US. My contract is for a year, and I am reluctant to bring a years worth of meds with me, even if I could get that many from the doctor. Currently I am prescribed percocet for a back injury but I know that China has a bit of a problem with meds from that particular family, due to a couple of historical wars fought with the brits. My question is, is it possible for me to get my hands on such meds in China using my prescription from my doctor in the US or am I going to have to seek alternatives? I have been taking percs (5mg oxy 325mg apap) for 3 years, and take anywhere from 0 - 15 tabs in a day, depending on the severity of my pain. If I go for longer than 2-3 days without the meds, I start to get withdrawal symptoms, and the pain seems to come back worse than ever. I can get my hands on probably 2 months supply before I leave florida, and try to use them to taper down and quit them, but that is easier said than done,and I don't want to be stuck in a foreign country, withdrawing from opiates while trying to do a pretty active job. (I will be teaching elemetery school students drama). I also take Gabapentin and sometimes lyrica(pregabalin). If I could get myself free from medication, I would be super happy, and that is the goal, however, I would like to know that I do have the option to find the prescription meds I need if possible.

Also, I will be living in Shanghai and I prefer to live a vegan lifestyle, and am a transitioning M2F, black woman. Am I likely to run into any problems based upon my lifestyle choices living in Shanghai?

While in the NAHL Tommy played for the Wichita Falls Wildcats and in the USHL played for the Fargo Force and Youngstown Phantoms. Tommy was then picked up by Michigan State and became well acquainted very quickly. Within two years Tommy was playing very well and had one of the highest face-off percentages in the league, not to mention that he was named an Assistant Captain in his sophomore year. This year Tommy will be a co-captain with Sam Saliba and will have two assistant captains, Jerad Rosburg and Patrick Khodorenko. Head coach Danton is very thrilled with the captains for this upcoming year, as he says “The leadership for next year’s team is a true reflection of the work these four young men have put forth both on and off the ice. It is great to see the players vote and elect such a selfless group of leaders.” Coach feels that “all four of these student-athletes have grown in their roles during their time here and will help us to continue to build our Spartan Hockey culture.” Michigan States’s first game is on October 7 at Munn Ice Arena. The Spartans take on the Western Ontario Mustangs and the puck drops at 7 P.M.

Symphonie des Bauens

Beim Panke Parcours lädt der Choreograf und Tänzer Felix M. Ott in eine Probe für sein neues Stück „Symphonie des Bauens“ ein, an dem er dann zwei Wochen gearbeitet haben wird. Für das Stück setzt er sich mit dem Innenleben des Heizhauses der Uferstudios auseinander und erkundet die Harmonie-, Bild- und Klangwelten des Bauens. Durch seine Mitarbeit als Bauhelfer auf der Baustelle des Heizhauses wurde der Grundstein für das Stück gelegt. Die Erfahrungen die Felix M. Ott dabei gemacht hat, dienen als Inspirationsquelle für die Symphonie des Bauens. Sein Plan ist, ein brachiales Musikstück zu komponieren, in dem die Werkzeuge zu Instrumenten werden und die Geräusche des Bauens zur Musik.

Das Stück wird am 27.09.2019 im Rahmen der Veranstaltungsreihe AUSUFERN 2019 – Transformationen Premiere haben. Weitere Spieldaten: 28./29.09. jeweils 19 Uhr. (Eintritt frei)

Die vierte Ausgabe der Programmreihe AUSUFERN verwandelt von August bis Oktober unter dem Motto Transformationen den in Sanierung befindlichen Heizhauskomplex am Eingang der Uferstudios in einen neuen Arbeits- und Veranstaltungsort für interdisziplinäre künstlerische Praxis. Fünf Projekte aus Tanz, Bildender Kunst und Musik befragen, bewegen und gestalten den architektonischen Körper noch im Bauprozess. Die ursprünglich einzige Funktion des Hauses als Wärmeversorger wird erweitert, um in Zukunft Raum für die Aktivierung künstlerischer und sozialer Energien zu bieten.

Felix Mathias Ott, geboren 1983 in Reutlingen, ist seit 15 Jahren wohnhaft in Berlin und arbeitet international vor allem im Feld des zeitgenössischen Tanzes. Nach seinem Bühnenbildstudium absolvierte er ein Studium am Hochschulübergreifenden Zentrum Tanz (HZT) Berlin. Seitdem arbeitet er als Performer und tourt seit 2011 mit seinen eigenen Produktionen durch Europa und Asien. Seine künstlerische Arbeit und Recherche wird unter anderem vom europäischen Netzwerk APAP - advancing performing arts project, dem Land Berlin und dem Goethe Institut unterstützt.

„Symphonie des Bauens“ is a physical as well as a musical exploration of the interior of the heating house of Uferstudios. After a probationary period as a construction worker on the building site of this new venue, Felix Mathias Ott composes a symphony in four movements, in which tools become instruments and the noises of construction become sound. Incidentally, this creates music and meaning worlds that will not only shake the believed, but also threaten the new walls. A brute piece of music in which Felix M. Ott himself becomes part of the composition.

Ζιζέλ

Η Ζιζέλ, από τα πιο αγαπητά και δημοφιλή ρομαντικά μπαλέτα, αφηγείται μια ακαταμάχητη ερωτική ιστορία με λυτρωτικό, αν και τραγικό τέλος. Η Ζιζέλ είναι μια όμορφη χωριατοπούλα με αδύναμη καρδιά, που ερωτεύεται τον ευγενή Άλμπρεχτ. Καθώς αισθάνεται ότι ο αγαπημένος της δεν ανταποκρίνεται, η καρδιά της την προδίδει και πεθαίνει. Στο νεκροταφείο όπου τη θάβουν, αναπαύονται και άλλες γυναίκες με ανεκπλήρωτες ή ατυχείς ιστορίες, γυναίκες που τη νύχτα γίνονται στοιχειά, σηκώνονται και χορεύουν, και όποιος ένοχος άντρας βρεθεί εκεί, τον σέρνουν να χορέψει μέχρι τελικής πτώσης. Όταν ο μετανιωμένος Άλμπρεχτ επισκέπτεται τον τάφο της Ζιζέλ, για να της πει ότι την αγαπά και να ζητήσει συγγνώμη, ενώ το πνεύμα της τον συγχωρεί, τον περικυκλώνουν τα στοιχειά με την αρχηγό τους, Μύρτα, και τον καταδικάζουν. Όμως η Ζιζέλ τον προστατεύει, χορεύει μαζί του ως το πρωί, ώσπου τα πνεύματα να επιστρέψουν στο σκοτάδι κι εκείνος να φύγει ασφαλής. Ο Κώστας Τσιούκας, εικονοκλάστης δημιουργός, με πολύ ιδιαίτερη προσωπική γραφή, επιχειρεί μια ενδοσκοπική ματιά σ’ αυτή την κλασική ιστορία με το κεντροευρωπαϊκό μεσαιωνικό άρωμα, δίνοντάς της μια χροιά πιο σύγχρονη, προσωπική, νοτιοευρωπαϊκή. Μένει πιστός στη δομή του έργου, αλλά προτείνει μια νέα κινητική προσέγγιση και μια ατμόσφαιρα όπου βασικά στοιχεία θα είναι ο φωτισμός και ένα corps de ballet που θα αποτελείται από ομάδα εθελοντών χορευτών και ηθοποιών. Με επιρροές από τη γκοθ κουλτούρα, τη νεορομαντική μουσική, τους κλασικoύς ζωγράφους και μια παραληρηματική ποπ αισθητική, ο Τσιούκας φέρνει τη ρομαντική αυτή ιστορία στο σήμερα.

Η Ανδρονίκη Μαραθάκη, μια από τις πιο δυναμικές παρουσίες της νέας γενιάς δημιουργών του χορού, παρουσιάζεται για πρώτη φορά στο Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών, με το έργο It’s not about if you will love me tomorrow_Μέρος 2. Πρόκειται για ένα παιχνίδι σε δημόσια θέα. Ένα παιχνίδι που τοποθετεί ερωτήματα για τη σχέση του χορού και της θέασης, για τις εντάσεις και τις ισορροπίες που γεννά αυτή η παράδοξη σχέση.

Πέντε ερμηνευτές μοιράζονται τον χώρο μιας πλατφόρμας, η οποία κινείται και αλλάζει κλίση ανάλογα με την τοποθέτηση και τη μεταφορά του βάρους τους. Οι ερμηνευτές δοκιμάζουν τα όριά τους σε μια νέα τάξη πραγμάτων, αφού, ό,τι πιο βέβαιο, το έδαφος, αποσταθεροποιείται και γίνεται μέρος ενός σύμπαντος που ρέει και αλλάζει χώρο, ρυθμό και κινητικότητα. Το παιχνίδι αναπτύσσεται με άξονα το «μαθηματικό» πρόβλημα fair-cake cutting, μια προβληματική που αναπτύσσεται κατά το μοίρασμα ενός «χώρου», για οτιδήποτε μοιράζεται –από μια τούρτα μέχρι μια εδαφική έκταση ή ένα φάσμα συχνοτήτων–, έτσι ώστε όλοι να πάρουν τον «χώρο» που προσωπικά εκτιμούν ότι τους αντιστοιχεί. Μια κατανομή, δηλαδή, όχι σε ίσα μέρη, αλλά σε μέρη κατάλληλα και επαρκή για τις διαφορετικές αξίες και προτιμήσεις του καθενός. Άραγε σ’ αυτή τη νέα γη θα τους βοηθήσουν οι θεατές να ισορροπήσουν; Ένα έργο προσωπικό και συλλογικό ταυτόχρονα, που κατά τη δημιουργό του «ίσως να είναι ένα έργο χορού, ίσως και όχι». Το It’s not about if you will love me tomorrow_Μέρος 2 ανήκει σ’ ένα δίπτυχο, το πρώτο μέρος του οποίου παρουσιάστηκε τον Φεβρουάριο στο Art Factory. Μπορεί να πεθάνει μια ολόκληρη πόλη, μαζί με την ιστορία, τις αξίες και τον πολιτισμό της; Θα μπορούσε ποτέ να αναβιώσει μια πόλη; Επί μία χιλιετία, ο μιναρές του Μεγάλου Τζαμιού στο Χαλέπι υψωνόταν περήφανος πάνω από τη μεγαλύτερη πόλη της Συρίας. Σήμερα, στη θέση του μνημείου έχουν απομείνει ερείπια. Η παράσταση #minaret του λιβανέζου Ομάρ Ρατζέχ (Omar Rajeh), από τις πιο δυναμικές παρουσίες του σύγχρονου χορού στη Μέση Ανατολή, αποτελεί πράξη αντίστασης ενάντια στην καταστροφή μιας από τις αρχαιότερες πόλεις στον κόσμο, συνδυάζοντας τον σύγχρονο χορό με τις εικαστικές τέχνες και τη μουσική παράδοση του Χαλεπιού. Το #minaret μας μεταφέρει στην καρδιά της διαλυμένης πόλης, ανασκάπτοντας την πολιτισμική και καλλιτεχνική κληρονομιά της και φέρνοντάς μας αντιμέτωπους με την έννοια της καταστροφής σήμερα, καθώς καθημερινά βομβαρδιζόμαστε από εικόνες ισοπέδωσης ολόκληρων πόλεων, που απειλούν να μας βυθίσουν στην απάθεια. Ο δημιουργός αντλεί από τις μνήμες της καταστροφής της ιδιαίτερης πατρίδας του, της Βηρυτού, ψάχνοντας το νήμα που συνδέει το Χαλέπι του σήμερα με τις κατεστραμμένες πόλεις του χθες.

Από το 2002, ο Ρατζέχ και η ομάδα του, Maqamat, έχουν συμβάλει καθοριστικά στην ανάπτυξη του σύγχρονου χορού στη Μέση Ανατολή, διοργανώνοντας τη διεθνή πλατφόρμα χορού BIPOD, που βρίσκεται πλέον στη 16η χρονιά της. Η παράσταση #minaret θα συνεχίσει την παγκόσμια περιοδεία της στα Julidans, Boulevard Festival, Moscow Dance Inversion International Contemporary Festival και στο Φεστιβάλ Παραστατικών Τεχνών SPRING στην Ουτρέχτη.

Lucy. tutorial for a ritual

Το χορογραφικό δίδυμο arisandmartha (Άρης Παπαδόπουλος, Μάρθα Πασακοπούλου), έχοντας παρουσιάσει το πρώτο του έργο στην πλατφόρμα χορού Aerowaves 2018, υλοποιεί αυτή τη φορά την ιδέα ενός σύγχρονου, επινοημένου τελετουργικού και μας τοποθετεί σ’ έναν κόσμο μεταιχμιακό, όπου τα πάντα αποκτούν σημασία γιατί απλώς βρίσκονται εκεί. Το έργο Lucy. tutorial for a ritual δανείζεται τον τίτλο του από τον αμφιλεγόμενο, διάσημο σκελετό αυστραλοπίθηκου που ανακαλύφθηκε στην Αιθιοπία το 1974. Πρόκειται, στην ουσία, για μια «τελετουργική απόπειρα» σύνδεσης ετερόκλητων μεταξύ τους στοιχείων, ένα πείραμα για τα ασαφή χρονικά και χωρικά όρια του περάσματος από το ατομικό ��το συλλογικό. Παίζοντας με τα στοιχεία της έκστασης αλλά και της συνειδητής παρατήρησης, της φαντασίας αλλά και της αναπόδραστης πραγματικότητας, της λησμονημένης ανάγκης για πίστη και της θεοποίησης του ψέματος, με τον «άνθρωπο-ζώο» και το «ανθρώπινο ζώο», το έργο μάς προτείνει να διευρύνουμε το αντιληπτικό μας πεδίο και να αναθεωρήσουμε τρόπους και τόπους τελετουργικών πρακτικών που διασώζονται μέσα στην καθημερινότητά μας. «Μήπως από το ψεύτικο φτάνουμε σε κάτι αληθινό;» αναρωτιούνται οι δημιουργοί.

Γιατί χορεύουμε μαζί; Ο ανερχόμενος πορτογάλος χορογράφος Μάρκο ντα Σίλβα Φερρέιρα (Marco da Silva Ferreira) εξερευνά τις ρίζες του συλλογικού χορού, του «όλοι μαζί σε κίνηση», από τις αρχαίες παραδόσεις μέχρι το street dance, αναζητώντας τα κοινά χαρακτηριστικά που επιβιώνουν από γενιά σε γενιά περνούν και στον σύγχρονο χορό. Το Brother είναι ένας χορός για τον άνθρωπο ως «ζώο κοινωνικό» που νιώθει την επείγουσα ανάγκη να μοιραστεί πράγματα, μια παράσταση που αναβιώνει την αρχέγονη ανθρώπινη κοινότητα στην καρδιά ενός σύγχρονου αστικού τοπίου. Η ένωση γεννάει ανταγωνισμούς, δεσμούς συναδέλφωσης και την επιθυμία για ηδονή. Συνδυάζοντας το Krump, είδος street dance, με τις αφρικανικές επιρροές, οι επτά χορευτές, με κινήσεις που παραπέμπουν σ�� τελετουργικό χορό, επιδίδονται σε μια έκρηξη μεταδοτικής ενέργειας, σε ένα συνεχές παιχνίδι μιμήσεων. Συγχωνεύονται σε σύνολο μέσω μιας αλχημικής διεργασίας που συνεχώς κινδυνεύει να ανατραπεί.

Χορευτής και χορογράφος με ανορθόδοξη πορεία, ο Φερρέιρα ξεκίνησε από το street dance, έγινε διάσημος στη χώρα του όταν αναδείχθηκε νικητής στην τηλεοπτική εκπομπή So You Think You Can Dance και συνεργάστηκε κατόπιν με μεγάλα ονόματα, όπως ο Χόφες Σέχτερ. Το Brother (2017), όπως και η προηγούμενη δημιουργία του, Hu(r)mano (2015), καθιέρωσαν τον δημιουργό στη διεθνή σκηνή μετά και την επιλογή τους από το ευρωπαϊκό δίκτυο Aerowaves.

Ο Γιάννης Μανταφούνης, ο Χρήστος Παπαδόπουλος και ο Αντώνης Φωνιαδάκης συναντούν τους χορευτές της ΚΣΟΤ

Το μέλλον του σύγχρονου χορού της χώρας επί σκηνής!

Η Κρατική Σχολή Ορχηστικής Τέχνης και το Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών - Επιδαύρου ετοιμάζουν μία μοναδική παράσταση, αποτέλεσμα της συνύπαρξης και της μακρόχρονης συνεργασίας και δουλειάς ανάμεσα σε διεθνείς έλληνες χορογράφους και τους νέους χορευτές, σπουδαστές, τελειόφοιτους και απόφοιτους της ΚΣΟΤ. Μία παράσταση που αποτυπώνει τη μοναδική στιγμή, στην πορεία ενός χορευτή, αυτήν ακριβώς πριν από την «εκτίναξή» του στον ��παγγελματικό στίβο με όλα τα εφόδια που του έχει δώσει η σπουδή του, μαζί με την ορμή και τη φρεσκάδα αυτής της ηλικίας, ιδανικά συνδυασμένη με την ωριμότητα των χορογράφων που διαπρέπουν στο διεθνή χώρο.

Με προεξάρχοντες τους Γιάννη Μανταφούνη, Χρήστο Παπαδόπουλο και Αντώνη Φωνιαδάκη, τρεις χορογράφους με διαφορετικό ύφος και τεχνοτροπία, υφαίνεται ο καμβάς της παράστασης όπου οι επιλεγμένοι νέοι χορευτές με επαγγελματισμό θα παρουσιάσουν τα έργα: για πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα το έργο Κόσμος του Αντώνη Φωνιαδάκη, ο οποίος σε αντίστιξη με τους φρενήρεις ρυθμούς της σύγχρονης πόλης, αναζητεί την ομορφιά, τη χαρά και τη δημιουργική δύναμη της ανθρώπινης συνύπαρξης. Επίσης, ειδικά για την ΚΣΟΤ, το έργο - σπουδή που ο Χρήστος Παπαδόπουλος έχει ετοιμάσει πάνω στη χωρική και χρονική συνύπαρξη του ατόμου μέσα σε ένα σύνολο που διαρκώς συγχωνεύεται στην ελάχιστη δυνατή μορφή του, τη μονάδα, ενώ οι μονάδες συγκροτούν στο εδώ και το τώρα, το όλο, το μαζί. Κι ακόμη, την τελείως διαφορετική site specific εμπειρία για όλους του Γιάννη Μανταφούνη One, one, one – εκδοχή της οποίας θα παρουσιαστεί και στο Άνοιγμα στην πόλη. Μια περφόρμανς που αποκτά νέα χαρακτηριστικά και νέα δυναμική μέσα από τη ματιά των νέων χορευτών, οι οποίοι «εισβάλλοντας» στον δημόσιο και τον προσωπικό χώρο των θεατών, τους προσφέρουν απρόσμενες εμπειρίες. Το πλήρες πρόγραμμα θα ανακοινωθεί αργότερα.

Οι παραστάσεις θα παρουσιαστούν στις 4, 5 και 6 Ιουλίου 2019, στον χώρο Δ της Πειραιώς 260 και στο «Άνοιγμα στην πόλη» και εντάσσονται στο πλαίσιο του ΕΣΠΑ 2014 – 2020 «Σύγχρονος Χορός: Θεωρία και Πράξη», της ΚΣΟΤ, του Περιφερειακού Επιχειρησιακού Προγράμματος Αττικής, με τη συγχρηματοδότηση της Ελλάδας και της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης -Ευρωπαϊκό Ταμείο Περιφερειακής Ανάπτυξης.

Λίγα λόγια για την Κρατική Σχολή Ορχηστικής Τέχνης (ΚΣΟΤ)

Η ΚΣΟΤ είναι Νομικό Πρόσωπο Δημοσίου Δικαίου και εποπτεύεται από το Υπουργείο Πολιτισμού και Αθλητισμού. Στεγάζεται στην οδό Ομήρου 55, στην Αθήνα, στο ίδιο κτήριο που έχτισε η Κούλα Πράτσικα, ειδικά διαμορφωμένο με τον πιο σύγχρονο τρόπο. Από τον Απρίλιο του 2018 τη Διεύθυνση της ΚΣΟΤ έχει αναλάβει η Βίκυ Μαραγκοπούλου. Στη Σχολή λειτουργούν δύο τμήματα σπουδών: το Προεπαγγελματικό, όπου φοιτούν παιδιά από 10 ετών παράλληλα με το σχολείο τους, και το Επαγγελματικό, όπου φοιτούν, μετά το πέρας των σπουδών τους στη δευτεροβάθμια εκπαίδευση, όσοι σκοπεύουν να ασχοληθούν επαγγελματικά με τον χορό. Και στα δύο τμήματα η φοίτηση είναι ��ωρεάν κατόπιν εξετάσεων, οι οποίες πραγματοποιούνται κάθε Σεπτέμβριο, αφού έχουν κατατεθεί οι σχετικές αιτήσεις έως τον Ιούλιο του ίδιου έτους. Οι απόφοιτοι της Σχολής έχουν στελεχώσει και στελεχώνουν τις καλύτερες ομάδες ως χορευτές ανά τον κόσμο και έχουν αναδειχτεί ως σημαντικοί χορογράφοι, καθηγητές και θεωρητικοί του χορού.

Η Πειραιώς 260 για μια ακόμα φορά «καταλαμβάνεται» από τον χορό. Μετά την πολύ επιτυχημένη πρώτη απόπειρα στο περσινό Φεστιβάλ, το εγχείρημα συνεχίζεται. Εναλλακτικές μορφές παρουσίασης, συλλογικές δράσεις, χορευτικές εμπειρίες και καλλιτεχνικά πειράματα δημιουργούν έναν χώρο συνάντησης, διαλόγου και συνύπαρξης καλλιτεχνών και κοινού.

Wolf – BLISS

Ενεργή από το 1977, η διάσημη ιταλική ομάδα Aterballetto αποτελείται από διεθνώς καταξιωμένους χορευτές και διακρίνεται για το υψηλό επίπεδο των καλλιτεχνικών διευθυντών και ερμηνευτών της. Πολλοί διεθνούς φήμης χορογράφοι έχουν συνεργαστεί με την ομάδα (Mauro Bigonzetti, Andonis Foniadakis, William Forsythe, Johan Inger, Jiří Kylián, Cristina Rizzo, Hofesh Shechter κ.ά.). Στην παράσταση-δίπτυχο που θα παρουσιάσουν στο Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών 2019 οι χορευτές της ομάδας συνεργάζονται με δύο σημαντικούς χορογράφους: τον Χόφες Σέχτερ στο α΄ μέρος, που δημιουργεί με τον Λύκο (Wolf) ένα σύμπαν ηλεκτρισμένης ενέργειας, και τον Γιόχαν Ίνγκερ στο β΄ μέρος, με την ΕΥΔΑΙΜΟΝΙΑ (BLISS), που εμπνέεται από το Κοντσέρτο της Κολωνίας (The Köln Concert) του Κηθ Τζάρετ.

Ο διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένος χορογράφος Χόφες Σέχτερ (Hofesh Schechter), που είχαμε απολαύσει στο Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών 2017 με την παράσταση Grand Finale, επιστρέφει με ένα παλαιότερο έργο του, εμπνευσμένο από τους 16 εκπληκτικούς χορευτές του Aterballetto και ξαν��δουλεμένο αποκλειστικά για την ομάδα. Οι χορευτές της διάσημης ομάδας καταλαμβάνονται από μια άγρια, ζωώδη ενέργεια, συνθέτοντας ένα πρωτόγνωρο σύμπαν, έναν κόσμο του οποίου συστατικά στοιχεία είναι η συνεχής ένταση, οι αντιθέσεις φωτός και σκότους και η μουσική που, όπως πάντα, υπογράφει ο ίδιος ο Σέχτερ. Όπως αναφέρει ο δημιουργός: «Ο χορός είναι σαν όνειρο. Όταν ξυπ��άς, αδυνατείς να εξηγήσεις πώς και γιατί έγιναν ορισμένα πράγματα ή διατυπώθηκαν κάποιες ιδέες, και μάλιστα γιατί εκφράστηκαν με τον συγκεκριμένο τρόπο».

Το BLISS (βραβείο Danza&Danza 2016) του σουηδού Γιόχαν Ίνγκερ, που έχει διακριθεί ως χορευτής και χορογράφος στο Nederlands Dans Theater και έχει βραβευτεί με το Carina Ari για τη συνεισφορά του στον σουηδικό χορό, αντλεί έμπνευση από το εμβληματικό The Köln Concert (1975) του αμερικανού πιανίστα Κηθ Τζάρετ, μια συναυλία που ηχογραφήθηκε για να γίνει ο σόλο τζαζ δίσκος και η ηχογράφηση για πιάνο με τις μεγαλύτερες πωλήσεις όλων των εποχών. Όπως αναφέρει ο Ίνγκερ: «Το έργο αυτό άγγιξε εκατομμύρια ανθρώπους εκφράζοντας μια ολόκληρη γενιά που έκανε τη μετάβασή της από μια φάση ζωής σε μια άλλη. Στόχος μου, μαζί με τους χορευτές, είναι να  συνδεθούμε με τη θρυλική αυτή μουσική. Είναι πρόκληση για μας, τόσο από πλευράς σύνθεσης όσο και από πλευράς συναισθημάτων, να προσεγγίσουμε τη μουσική με σύγχρονη ματιά».

Το Return Trip είναι εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα του Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto που πραγματοποιείται σε συνεργασία με το Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών & Επιδαύρου και άλλους φορείς, με την υποστήριξη του Ιδρύματος Σταύρος Νιάρχος. Θα πραγματοποιηθεί στο Ρέτζο νελλ’Εμίλια της Ιταλίας τον Ιούνιο, με τη συμμετοχή ελλήνων και ιταλών χορευτών, υπό την καθοδήγηση καταξιωμένων ελλήνων και ιταλών χορογράφων. Εντάσσεται στο «Tempo Forte Italia - Ελλάδα 2019», μια πρωτοβουλία της Πρεσβείας της Ιταλίας στην Ελλάδα, σε συνεργασία με ελληνικούς και ιταλικούς φορείς.

Boris Charmatz – Terrain

Το νέο έργο του κορυφαίου γάλλου χορογράφου, που απολαύσαμε πέρυσι στο Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών με το enfant, κάνει παγκόσμια πρεμιέρα στο Φεστιβάλ Αθηνών. Το infini (άπειρο) προσπαθεί να εντ��πίσει μια αίσθηση απείρου μέσα στον χώρο. Το «άπειρο» είναι ο τρόπος μας να αγγίξουμε αυτό που βρίσκεται πέρα από εμάς και η σκηνή είναι ο χώρος που επιτρέπει μια τέτοια προσπέλαση. Το σώμα μοιάζει να είναι πεπερασμένo – η ανθρώπινη κίνηση, όμως, είναι πάνω απ’ όλα μια επ’ άπειρον δυνατότητα. Όπως δηλώνει ο δημιουργός: «Ανέκαθεν σιχαινόμουν να μετράω βήματα στον χορό. Προτιμούσα να αφήνω τη φαντασία μου ελεύθερη, να περιπλανιέται. Στη συγκεκριμένη παράσταση μετράμε, μιλάμε, τραγουδάμε και χορεύουμε, αλλά το κάνουμε με στόχο να περιπλανηθούμε...».

Εδώ και αιώνες, οι χορευτές μετράνε βήματα μέχρι το 4, το 6 ή το 8, και μετά πάλι από την αρχή. Στις σύγχρονες χορογραφίες χρησιμοποιούνται ενίοτε πιο περίπλοκα συστήματα μέτρησης. Τι θα συνέβαινε, ωστόσο, αν οι χορευτές μετρούσαν το διηνεκές; Τι θα συνέβαινε αν μετρούσαν, όχι έχοντας κάποιο στόχο, μέτρο ή ρυθμό κατά νου, αλλά σαν να μετράνε προβατάκια για να αποκοιμηθούν ή μέχρι να ξεψυχήσουν; Τι θα συνέβαινε αν οι αριθμοί σηματοδοτούσαν μια εγκατάλειψη, ένα πέρασμα, μια μεταμόρφωση επ’ άπειρον; Στο έργο αυτό οι ερμηνευτές δεν σταματάνε να μετρούν, ο χρόνος παγώνει: δεν σταματάνε να μετρούν ούτε στο 1989, ούτε στο 2015, ούτε στο 2019...
