On this day, Bob Barnett, former president of Ameritech Mobile Communications, placed a call with a cell phone to the grandson of Alexander Graham Bell, who was in Germany for the event.

Not exactly. I actually don't use the hacked Spotify app anymore. I prefer Spotube, a free open-source app that interfaces directly with the Spotify web API. It also let's you download songs and albums directly, which the hacked app didn't do!
Overall Spotube is more stable, trustworthy (because the code source is open and community-audited), and will never be at risk Spotify patching the hack or disabling your account for violating terms of service, because it uses 100% legal software.
(P.S. the first link leads to F-Droid, an alternative app store for free, community-driven, open-source apps. That's where you can also download NewPipe, my favorite ad-free youtube app.)

The C-band network is scheduled to launch in December. On October 5, 2021, the aviation industry and the FAA argued that the C-band signal from aircraft radios, which estimates the distance of aircraft from the ground for landing in bad weather, should be picked up. These altimeters are designed to use the same band as the 5G network (the aircraft frequency is 400 MHz in the network launch of 2022), but some of them are designed not to scan the surrounding frequencies, because these frequencies are not used to power when altimeters. was built. Which phones support C-band?

For a phone to support the US C-band, it needs three things: its hardware must support it, it must be approved by the FCC to work on it, and it must have the right software. The latter has caused some delays, for example in Verizon's Pixel 6. Pixel 6 has hardware and FCC certification, but c band support is delayed for a short time due to missing firmware. (This has now been fixed.)
The main thing to look for in the data sheet is whether it supports the n77 band, but in the end it is up to the operators to implement the correct firmware.
AT&T's C-band list is similar, but there is an additional addition, as not all AT&T C-band phones support 3.45 GHz. Currently, the only phones we know of that will support the new 3.45GHz for AT&T are the Samsung Galaxy S22 series and the Google Pixel 6a, but AT&T has promised more details on that later this year. The iPhone 14 series will be the first 3.45GHz iPhones.
Do you need a C-band phone?
Now, deciding whether you need a C-band phone comes down to trying to figure out if your carrier will launch a C-band network before you get a new phone.
• AT&T users should think about their current data usage. Hopefully, the C band isn't too fast. If you're disappointed with your AT&T performance, get a phone compatible with the upcoming 3.45 GHz network. For now this list is limited, so wait for a better list. • Verizon launches into C-band If you live in one of the carrier's C-band markets and data performance is important to you, you should get a C-band phone.
• T-Mobile does not have C-band airwaves until 2024. T-Mobile users should not worry about C-band only.
• US Cellular is in the same boat as T-Mobile.

Why do we need C-band?
The 5G situation in the United States is currently very difficult. For 5G to deliver a better experience than 4G, it needs a wide, dedicated channel, preferably 50 MHz or more. For 5G to cover the whole country, it needs to be running below around 6 GHz, so you can get a good range from the tower. Currently, AT&T and Verizon do not use wireless networks to match these fees. Verizon may have something to gain by using the new CBRS wireless network below C-band, but the jury is still out. So in general, AT&T and Verizon offer 5G that is not faster than LTE at the same time or without limits.

C band can solve this problem. The government has released 280 MHz of airwaves in the main C-band and an additional 100 MHz in the 3.45 band, which can extend up to 800 meters from each tower, leaving enough bandwidth for many airwave carriers. and benefited. through 5G is strong. mainly existing cell sites.
Leaving the cellular is a terrible thing. This 2006 article estimates that the 3.5 GHz network can extend up to 2 km from any site in urban areas and up to 6.2 km in rural areas. Our first test of Verizon's c band shows a range of about 0.37 miles in populated Queens, New York. This, however, appears to be limited not by the power of the airwaves, but by the fact that Verizon doesn't want its cell sites to interfere with each other.
