Does Ven's Alliance (re-)join the Empire or does he stay independent (as much as it is possible)? I don't think he would have gone Republic.

It was a tough choice for Ven, but eventually he chose to stay independent.

It surprised even him, since he's still devoted to the Empire, but when weighing the choice he found that he valued freedom more.

He's had enough of orders and being used as a pawn to last a lifetime.

He also couldn't in good conscience ask the Republic members of the Alliance to renounce their homes just because he wanted his back.

He's made his peace with it, and Acina even let him keep the title of Darth, in respect for what he's done.

It's small in the grand scheme of things, but it means a lot to him to still be connected to his home like that.

He chose to work with Acina rather than for her, and he's quite happy with his choice.

The Alliance is his pride and joy, the best thing he's ever had a hand in, and he's protective enough of it that he's not going to sign it away to an Empress he barely knows to get used in whatever way she sees fit.

He didn't even entertain the idea of joining the Republic. ;)
