I love how this post forgets entirely that a lot of ppl are against GMO because they are deeply related to modifying food in order to resist certain pesticides that then end up in our food. It’s not because “contains genes”, it’s because contains non-biodegradable substances that pollute our lands and, by now, our clouds and rain. It’s about the chemicals that have tons and tons of studies showing they increase the development of allergies in the population, cause unusual hormone alterations, and even affect fetus in pregnant ppl. In the towns around the fields where they are spread, you have 3 times more cancer cases than the national mean, specially in kids. So, no, it’s not “mere genes”. It’s a lot more and deeper, related to sustainability and public health, which is also science that corporations ignore completely. What I found so curious is that most ppl from first world countries does not know that the majority of the GMO is not related to “make crops flood resistant”, but resistant to pesticides. Monsanto loves spreading that concept that GMO is just used to make “food have more vit A”. And ppl just repeat. Countries where we truly endure the use of GMO in our lands, we know exactly that GMO means.
GMO has existed forever, natives such as the incas practised it, it’s not “new”, it’s not “modern science”. Mexicas developed a hundred corn types over centuries with this technique. Again, it’s not new. Now we can accelerate the genetic modifications and be more accurate with the modern techniques, but it’s mostly to make them resistant to pesticides. Why do you think Monsanto was bought by Bayer years ago? The same corporation that sells you pesticides, that are, most of the time, non-controlled in their manipulations, is the same one that sells you food and then medicines because the illnesses related to the constant ingest of these [non-regulated] pesticides. And this is one of the many negatives effects. Another one that happens with GMO [even though nobody in this fucking place wants to acknowledge it] is the mono-cultive practices [non-rotation of the crops] that destroy the health of the soil, and if you don’t have a soil with rich minerals, the plants you put to grow there won’t develop properly or will be poor in minerals and vits. So, we have poorer food and erosion. Because, yes... GMO used in this way causes it. A big problem that, again, nobody speaking about GMO seems to know. We are not speaking about the erosion of the soils and how these practices are destroying entire countries’ biodiversity. 
Another great danger that specialists have been repeating over and over is that GMO usually forces similar modifications in different crops so different plants can resist the same pesticides that are sold in a big “bio-package”. This causes that weed and some plagues became resistant or stronger to this pesticide, so every few years we need higher doses or stronger pesticides that end up in our food and in our body [because so far, a lot of them are not biodegradable]. All the problems listed above become more concentrated. 
The other important danger is that it may happen a plague or a fungus that may be particularly prone to develop, associated with a similar modification that was used on different crops. This can endanger a lot of different crops with one single plague, causing potential destruction of big quantities of different kinds of food [this is also a very old concern known by natives since centuries ago, reason why they always tried to use rudimentary GMO techniques to favour a diversification of the crops, not the other way around like corporations do now]. So far we know, scientists have talked about this a lot, but one thing is a scientist talking about this issue, and another is a food-monopolised-corporation doing it, especially when corporations see more profit by just reducing the diversification in our food [less different bio-packages to develop]. 
And we can continue with the silly argument that “corporations are different to the GMO technique”, and even though that’s true “technically”, the reality shows otherwise. We live in a world where GMO has been monopolised. Hell, food industry is already monopolised, so don’t be so naive to think that we still can keep things separated. 
“Mere genes”. I would love so much this place to learn the topic properly before dismissing entire populations in this way. GMO, as it’s now, controlled and monopolised by corporations, is a big no-no. And dismissing the entire population whose children have 3 times more cancer cases than the national mean [northern provinces of Argentina, for example] because these pesticides, annoys me a lot. Never ever I've seen an integral post of GMO in this place. The topic is a looot more complex than the religious adoration of science or feeling superior because “I know science” or “I _believe_ in science”. Not all science is good, not all science is well tested before being used, corporation science is always a big question mark in many, many contexts, and science is always founded and moved by interests [unfortunately, more and more corporate interests by now]. Science is good, but don’t turn it into the new religion. It has limits and flaws, and it’s dirty to the neck with interests that few want to acknowledge.

Her dark pop spectacle opened with a haunting visual interlude titled “The Manifesto of Mayhem”—a cinematic overture that reintroduced the world to Mistress Mayhem, Gaga’s latest alter ego.
Bathed in crimson light and surrounded by shadows, Gaga emerged on the screens in a rare archival piece: a bondage-inspired black leather straitjacket from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring/Summer 2003 collection. The jacket, adorned with a grid of heavy buckles and silver hardware, set the tone for the night—iconoclastic, provocative, and entirely in control.

For the final look of the night, Gaga delivered a breathtaking visual transformation in a total couture creation by Matières Fécales (formerly known as Fecal Matter), a brand famed for its futuristic, grotesque, and avant-garde sensibilities.
The custom ensemble was a full conceptual look, comprised of a satin-stitched bodysuit featuring a haunting red anatomical cross motif—meant to evoke the feeling of surgical stitches, resurrection, and rebirth (and a nod to the "Abracadabra" music video!). The bodysuit alone was a spectacle, but Gaga layered it with even more drama: a translucent organza coat (cropped specifically for her performance), and an exaggerated feathered bustle skirt constructed from delicate white plumes that moved with every beat, adding an ethereal weightlessness to the performance.
The silhouette was further intensified with a sculptural feather collar piece—a headpiece of long, otherworldly white feathers shooting upward like wings, perfectly framing her head and extending the theatrical effect, created by Paul Battenberg-Cartwright.

Out of the BLU team, the clearest personality headcannons I have for the Mercs are the Support classes.
Yes, I did yap a lot about BLU Scout in my BLU post, but it's honestly the Support classes that have crystallised personalities in my mind.
BLU Medic is a very cold man on the battlefield, but actually pretty chill outside of it. Except for Spy and Engineer most of his teammates are below him, but he somewhat appreciates them and is always cordial. But he complains a lot too.
BLU Spy is trying to act all stone cold, but he's a cocky bastard bitch. He can get pretty agro, he holds a lot of grudges. Massive two face. But also he's cool in the Noir Detective fashion (need to see an actual noir detective film tho) if needed, 100% charmer.
BLU Sniper is as cheeky as a group of monkeys. He makes faces, grimaces, grinds teeth. He got the nickname Monkey-kid because he was found in a box of bananas and acts like it. The song Tarzan Boy is essentially about him. He is kind if he wants to be, he can be cold too, but for the most part... That guy is a monkey.

Nevertheless I had to write it and I‘m sorry if its not good or anything and sorry for not factchecking the timeline or wordings of things but I‘m too lazy to watch the movie while writing so yeah, just bear with me on this one.

Chapter 1: The Crocodile Hunter and the Dinosaurs
John Hammond never did anything halfway. When he set out to bring dinosaurs back from extinction, he spared no expense. And when it came time to ensure his dream was viable—to secure expert approval—he knew he couldn’t rely on paleontologists alone. No, this wasn’t just about fossilized bones or ancient plant life. This was about living, breathing animals.
And so, instead of stopping at Dr. Alan Grant and Dr. Ellie Sattler, Hammond decided to seek out one more voice—one that spoke not of the past, but of the present. A man whose name was known across the world. A man who had spent his life face-to-face with nature’s deadliest predators.

The midday sun beat down on the Australia Zoo, glinting off the water of the crocodile enclosure. A small crowd stood gathered along the fence, leaning forward in anticipation. The air buzzed with excitement as Steve Irwin—barefoot, clad in khaki, and grinning ear to ear—stood at the water’s edge, holding a chunk of raw meat.
“Alright, mates, watch this,” he called out, his voice full of boyish enthusiasm. “Now, this is Agro. He’s a big salty—fifteen feet, over a thousand kilos, and an absolute ripper of a croc. But what makes him real special is how he strikes. Watch the way he uses the water for cover…”
A ripple moved through the pond. The crowd gasped.
Then, in an explosion of force, the crocodile lunged upward, jaws wide, teeth flashing in the sunlight. Steve barely flinched as he tossed the meat in the air. Agro’s massive jaws snapped shut with a bone-shaking CRACK, and he slid back beneath the surface.
“Crikey, did you see that?” Steve laughed, turning back to the crowd. “Perfect precision. That’s a predator that’s been evolving for millions of years. Just incredible, right?”
The audience erupted in applause, but Steve had already turned his attention back to the water, watching Agro retreat to the depths.
That’s when he heard the voice.
“Absolutely magnificent, Mr. Irwin,” came the smooth, practiced tone of an older man. “I can see why they call you ‘The Crocodile Hunter.’”
Steve turned, wiping sweat from his brow. Before him stood an elderly man in a crisp white suit, leaning lightly on a cane. His blue eyes twinkled with something Steve recognized instantly—passion.
“Well, g’day, mate!” Steve grinned, stepping forward to shake his hand. “Steve Irwin. And who might you be?”
“John Hammond,” the man said, shaking Steve’s hand warmly. “I’ve come a long way to meet you.”
Inside Steve’s Office – Australia Zoo
A fan whirred softly, barely cutting through the Queensland heat. Steve sat behind his cluttered desk, arms folded, as John Hammond spread out a series of photos and documents in front of him. What Steve saw nearly took his breath away.
“Now, I know this must seem… impossible,” Hammond said, watching Steve’s face closely. “But it’s real. I’ve created a biological preserve—an island where dinosaurs live again.”
Steve let out a slow breath, rubbing his jaw. “You’re telling me… you’ve actually got real dinosaurs? Not just bones? Living, breathing dinosaurs?”
Hammond nodded. “Thanks to cutting-edge genetic engineering, yes. And that’s why I’m here, Mr. Irwin. I need someone who understands animals—not as distant relics of the past, but as living creatures.”
Steve barely blinked before he let out a booming laugh. “Mate, that’s the most bonkers thing I’ve ever heard! But crikey, if it’s true, I have to see it.”
Hammond’s smile widened. “I was hoping you’d say that.”

The InGen helicopter cut through the sky, the ocean stretching endlessly below. Steve leaned out slightly, watching the waves roll beneath them. He felt the kind of exhilaration he hadn’t experienced since wrangling his first croc as a boy.
Across from him sat Dr. Alan Grant and Dr. Ellie Sattler, paleontologists whose expertise Hammond had also recruited. Grant, ever skeptical, kept shooting Steve sidelong glances.
“So, you’re some kind of… what, wildlife expert?” Grant finally asked.
Steve grinned. “Something like that. I work with crocs mostly, but I’ve wrangled just about everything—big cats, venomous snakes, even the odd cassowary. If it’s dangerous, I study it. If it’s endangered, I protect it.”
Grant frowned slightly. “And Hammond thinks you’ll have insight into dinosaurs?”
“Well, mate,” Steve said, flashing a mischievous grin, “I figure a predator’s a predator, whether it’s got scales or feathers. Crocs haven’t changed much in millions of years. What’s a dinosaur but a big, scaly mystery waiting to be figured out?”
Ellie smirked. “I think I like you.”
Hammond clapped his hands together. “Excellent! Now, hold on tight—because welcome… to Jurassic Park!”
As the Island Appears…
Through the chopper’s windows, the massive gates of Jurassic Park loomed in the distance. Lush greenery stretched as far as the eye could see, untouched wilderness hiding ancient creatures long thought extinct.
Steve leaned forward, eyes sparkling like a child’s. “Ohhh, mate, this is gonna be wild…”
And as the helicopter descended, none of them had any idea just how wild it was about to get.

Oh I'm going to have fun noticing the parallels and symbolism here, it's literaly the whole show
Especially for these two, but I wanna give some context for whoever is interested in at least seeing me ramble about this show
"Meu pedacinho do chão", roughly translating to "My small piece of land" is a 2014 remake of an older TV show(we call those novelas) from the 70's of the same name, it aparently changes A LOT of the plot of the original but I didn't grew up with it neither did my grandma so it doesn't matter, like my mom didn't even knew it was a remake, but that's besides the point, it is just a small thing to know especialy if I plan to watch the original after finishing this to see what changed
The story goes as follows, in this quaint little village called "Santa Fé"(Saint faith) is arriving anew member to it's comunity, a teacher, Juliana, the first teacher for the first ever school to inaugurate there, much to Coronel(translating its "colonel" but here in brasil it's not so much of a military role as much it repesents a title if the big farm owners of the old times) Epaminondas Napoleão dismay
The plot is simple, Epa(short for Epaminondas) will try at any costs to close this school and Juliana will persist to teach the children(and adults), it's simple, it's sweet, but has an emphasis also in the romance between Juliana and Zelão, the right hand man of Epa
And now older I can see much more of the other themes playing around, like Gina, the only daughter of Epa's rival, and the man most beloved by the town bc it was by his land donation people could have a place to call their own, again much to Epas anger bc it was he that gave that man piece of his land first but in his mind it was not supposed to grown a village or God forbid a town there
She... is clearly "big mean Lesbian" coded, they call her a Mulher-Homi(she-man/woman-man), she has anger inssues, never smiles, dresses masculine, uses violence first talk later, she refuses to watch Juliana undress(they share her room for the firsts nights while the teachers room isn't ready) and is clearly affected/unconfortable by how feminine the teach is, her mother is constantly disapointed and worried while her father is in denial/ or is the only one who understands the nuance of gender for her but it's 2014 and I have low hopes, especialy bc I know she ends marring a man
But what gets me is that this story as 2 main parings, Juliana and Zelão, Gina and Fernando(Epas son), and what gets me is how these 4 are a reflection of each other
Zelão and Gina especialy, the photos above show one clear paralel consistent, both are, in the romantic parring, the Troup of "back water tough persona", Zelão's hair covers half his face until Juliana comes to town and he sees her for the first time, he intentionally pushes away that hair to "see her clearly" but also to start his own education, for the first time Zelão won't be just the man doing Epas dirty work, his vision literaly expands he finaly sees the world with two eyes instead of one
And when Gina gets agreessive her hair also covers half her face, her anger clouding judgment, she is show most times with both eyes shown but it's when she is cornered and angry her hair makes the paralel, I don't remember how her romance goes so I can judge it much better now as an adultn bc she also has so much more going on besides the main "the inportance of education" plot
Then there is Fernando and Juliana, they both are pararlel that they are the "educated" one of their pair, Fernando graduated as an agro engineer(even if his dad wanted him to become a lawyer) and Juliana is the big city teacher coming to bring knowledge to the town, and there is an attraction, at least from Fernando to Juliana, as is from every man in this town for her tbh, but there's a little thing that makes them something a bit more as characters too
Juliana is sexy, there is no way around it the camera the gestures the costume she is HOT, the story needs you to know how hot this woman is, not only pretty but hot, every single man has a boner for her, they fawn they shutter, she could be a text book example of femfatale... if, she wasn't a teacher, bc here's the thing she doesn't use saturated colors, she uses pastels, pinks and withes and blues, and bc of that she is also seen by everyone in this little village as a Saint, that is a point bc it IS THE WHOLE ROMANCE ARC BB, she is a Saint for the folk and the Devil for the Coronel, she has a good heart yes, but she makes a point to aways counter that she is no Saint, and there will be a scene, THE PICK OF ROMANCE, were she and Zelão have the talk about this, and the story better deliver in him not seeing her as a Saint anymore and just as another woman, that's how their love worked in my head
Anyways she breaks the femfatale stereotype and the Saint at the same time, she dresses not as a classical domination but as a normal pretty woman in pastels and pinks, but she still acts like an adult having many MANY, I NEVER NOTICED HOW MANY WHEN YOUNG TBH, shots and inuendos, she KNOWS the effect she has on others and it's just contempt at this point
Then there is Fernando, from the short summary that I read from the 70s he was the most changed, for starters not a playboy anymore, second... it isn't as strong as Gina's BUT, he does read bit gay to me, he is the city boy coming home, dresses fancily like a prince, as he should since he is the closest to one in this farytalesque story, he is educated treats everyone fairly (even if the atory itselfs doesn't I am not blind to not noticed we got the two racists esteritipes here with the black mama and happy/lazy black man with two kf the only 3 black characters and I fear they are the only 2 named ones but hey I just finished ep2 of 92 so who fucking knows but low hopes)
But his scene with his dad... "Dad I have something to tell you... I'm not a lawyer... I'm an engineer" is... sure something followed by Coronel kicking him out of his house, I'm still waiting to see if there's something between him and Zelão as there is to Juliana and Gina, but they have more of a "the son that his dad never had vs the son his dad has" kinda vibe, that is... not so much the focus of the other girls
I'm no expert, but I wanna try spotting this tropes stuff in this novela at least, it's easier too bc... just look at it, really colorful and full of tropes now I just wanna see how they break it
Btw a fun thing I think it's interesting is how Epaminondas was the first Coronel dressed in black that I saw and maybe existed at that time, and noticing that is how I started to see the pattern that in Brasilian TV White is the villains color, not black, black can hide the dirt if one works while withe is the hardest shit to maintain, all coronels were shown is white bc of their status, as rich, and also bc they were meant to be sympathetic in a way too (like it or not the white and black are clasiscaly aligned with good and evil), but at the time they were trying to break steriotypes...after all I still remember My teacher in grade school repeating over and over that "the Bandeirantes were not the heroes that history told us " even if it was the first time we all had even heard that term, and now older i realize she was referencing her own time at school, I got the history breaking of many propaganda that still persissted by the Vargas dictatoryship in the country

being in this course for almost 18 months now.. i feel veterinary science is so beautiful and im sorry how less awareness there is about it in india whereas it's much more developed and progressive in West. sure they have more pets and what not to throw their money on and in general are aware and respectful of the importance of animals but india is literally an agro based economy where we derive so much work and products of off animals. and it's not just about becoming a vet in future, there's an entirety of jobs one can diverge to after this degree with relatively less competition and promise of both secure government and private sector jobs. the engineering and medical obsession. i know im lucky that i had a chance to escape that and try on whatever i felt right at that time but it's only the lack of exposure to possibilities that indian parents are reluctant about other fields. on and off conversations with other friends and acquaintances in non eng. and non med fields who're doing relatively better than they've had have made me realize we are so far from even a slightly good education system. they're speaking on national platforms, travelling around the globe.. was i so oblivious to other career options or the fear feeding into our brains right from childhood about a secure future that can only be provided through choosing med and engg. drives us into insanity

Friends called me a Fake Engineer, I bought their dinner.
My daughter 17, asked me to post this here. And Im the Dad who does as the women in my life tell me, which is how I ended up in a restaurant tonight with snobs. So the characters, my wife, wife’s coworker 1 and her husband arrogant engineer 1(AE1), wife’s coworker 2 and her husband my CPA, and Lastly AE2 and his wife. Each couple has two teenage children with us.
We are at a Japanese steakhouse in America where the chefs cook in front of you. CW1 and AE1 invited all of us for their youngest daughter’s birthday. Since their daughter is close with our daughter. So the parents are at one table and the teens at another. At the teen table my daughters (17 and 14) order sushi appetizers, mocktails, and shrimp with scallops. At our table the Sake is flowing along with a few top shelf drinks. My wife and I order our appetizers, drinks and dinners. We are all paying for ourselves and I see AE1 and AE2 seem to in competition for who can spend the most. My CPA and I chuckle at them and stay out of the fray. Until AE2 hears my daughter order and says to her, “careful now your daddy is only and agricultural engineer. He doesnt make as much as us real engineers.” For context they are structural engineers with Bachelor degrees, Im an agricultural engineer with a PHD. I work for governments, private investors, and several agro corporations. I own my own consulting firm. I help build sustainable reusable gardens. And this work allows me to travel to poorer countries and help them use what they have to start growing their own food. Apparently these men thought All I did was travel to impoverished places and teach people to dig in the dirt. They believed I did all this work for free and therefore made very little money. Im not “rich” by any stretch, but Im comfortable. We dont do extravagance, so we have savings and my wife works. However in 2023 I was awarded a handsome contract to design tower gardens in several states. Its a seven figure contract over three years. Back to dinner These guys ask me about the most ridiculous things. Like “is it good to grow onions and carrots in the same garden?” And were laughing at me and my work until their wives told them to stop. I chalk it up to drunken arrogance and dont even bother to answer. My CPA was laughing so hard he almost fell out of his chair. Apparently, he is AE1’s CPA as well. And knows the ins and outs of both our finances. AE1 taunts CPA to tell the table what he brought home last year after bonuses. CPA pulled up the figures on the phone and tells us. Its about 1/3 of what I brought home in 2023. The CPA says “I have yours up want me to share?” I decline. And he nods. Que another round of taunts. I go to the restroom and find the waiter. I pay for the whole check and leave a generous tip on top of what they added for a big party. After our sobert the waiter thanks me in front of everyone for the tip and wishes everyone a good night. AE1 and AE2 stare at me for a moment. I smile nod and tell CPA to tell them my income last year. After which I simply said goodnight. Petty absolutely, gratifying damn right.

Beyond the fence, rows and rows of lifeless coconut tree trunks stand like skeletal sentinels, their leafless forms stark against the horizon. These once-thriving giants, now mere sticks protruding from the earth, line the right side of a narrow gravel road. To the left, in a slightly lower expanse of terrain, hundreds more cling to life, their leaves dry and brittle, signaling an inevitable demise, the land itself in a state of terminal decline.
Manoel Joaquim dos Santos slowly dismounts his old motorbike, its noisy engine sputtering and belching smoke. He approaches a heavy gate, secured with a rudimentary wooden latch, and swings it open with weary familiarity.
In Brazil’s rural heartland, farmers usually welcome visitors with pride, eager to showcase their sprawling fields and flourishing crops. But on this sweltering January afternoon in the agro-village of Icó-Mandantes, Santos, 66, short and stern, with a mustache and bald pate, looks frustrated and discouraged.
Over the years, he has watched as climate change aggravated an historic drought, leaving the soil as dry as the coconut trees. The relentless sun of the semi-arid region in Brazil’s northeastern state of Pernambuco has turned his skin a weathered shade of copper and etched deep lines into his face, each one a testament to the harsh realities of his life. His gaze sweeps over the dying plantation, a poignant reflection of his own fading hopes.
“Before, I’d harvest 35,000 coconuts each season,” Santos, an Indigenous Pipipã, recalls. “Today, my production is zero.”
Santos started planting coconut trees in the 1990s on land granted to him by the Brazilian government to compensate for the loss of his ancestral home, which was submerged by an artificial lake created to power a hydroelectric plant. All of his production was sold to a processing industry established in the region. In the early 2000s, his family’s income was equivalent to 336,000 Brazilian reals (BRL) per year ($67,000).
However, the irrigation system installed by the government, which had enabled him to produce and sell so many coconuts, also contributed to the degradation of his land due to excess salt.
Now, all around this region, the soil is turning into a desert. 
The problem is not new. Three decades ago, the United Nations was so worried about the degradation of fertile lands around the world that it created a permanent forum to discuss how to slow down the process. The forum, called the Convention to Combat Desertification, has held 15 “Conferences of the Parties” (COPs) since 1994. In 1999, the COP took place in Recife, the capital of Pernambuco, the state where Santos lives. The city was selected because the region was already the most threatened by land degradation and climate change in the country. 
At that time, surveys by the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) indicated that the areas in the process of desertification, in different degrees of intensity, added up to a surface corresponding to 22 percent of the total area of the Brazilian Semiarid Region.
