top 5 art styles?? :)
I don't know what to categorize most of these as, but
I love a lot of traditional Japanese art, both paintings and woodblock prints. Some of my favorite Japanese artists are Itō Jakuchū and Ohara Shōson, and likewise some of my other favorite non-Japanese artists i.e Ivan Bilibin had some influence from traditional Japanese art and it definitely shows.
2. This Style of landscape painting? Thinking of Franklin Carmichael and Alfred Joseph Casson who were both Canadian artists of the Group of Seven / Algonquin Art School, but I can think of other artists with art that has similar vibes.
3. Whatever the hell Arkhip Kuindzhi had going on. Like I am hesitant to call this realism because its definitely less stylized than the above landscape paintings but the oil painting looks so SMOOTH and the COLORS are so vibrant and contrasting to the point where it almost gives me digital art vibes, like he had a really wonderful grasp on light and shadow. idk. absolutely based art style and a big inspiration personally.
4. Art noveau. Always just pleasant to look at.
5. Indigenous art from the Pacific Northwest! Very cool and distinctive stuff.
