Week 1 Research

Idea 1 - GOT Set location App

Overview 

For my 3 ideas i wanted to have a wide variation of different digital products so I have a few different options for my project , I'm really going towards the GOT app that lets you navigate around the different set locations in Northern Ireland. from my research i found that there isn't really an application that does this.

There are 26 different set locations in Northern ireland. and also I wanted to include a digital passport style page for the  6 different doors all round Northern Ireland that are created from the trees that have fallen over due to weather. With the trees that have cut down and turned into doors that represent the different seasons of the doors.

With my idea, i know you are able to get a stamp book for the different doors, these bars or shops or restaurants have the books and stampers to say you have been there until you have them all. what I was thinking i would create an app that does the same thing but uses it as a digital format. By using QR codes and scanners we can give them a digital stamp on the app.

Strengths 

I spend alot of time looking at different user interfaces and i believe i can create one that will be user friendly.

I believe that this will help promote Northern Ireland more with tourism.

Weaknesses

Some times the directions are not neccesarily accuate and sometimes it will show detours instead of the most main route.also the app needs to be only and connected to also used the features of it.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Target Audience

​​​​​​​​The target audience for the app is mostly at tourist coming to Northern Ireland and also people who are very local to Northern Ireland that really dont like going on tours to different locations and would want to take there time at the different locations.

How will I Build It

I think i would use Sketch to create mockups for the design and interface. This app would use API's like google maps since it is the most used and sourced. i will build the app with [Xcode](https://developer.apple.com/xcode/) and [Swift](https://developer.apple.com/swift/). 

Business Model

for the business model i will be using promotional sevices like social media and app shout which can be visible to many app reviewers and consumers.

Idea 2 -  Twitch and Mixer Icons set

Overview

my second idea was a simple gaming icon and art work package , with the growing popularity with youtube and twitch and now mixer more content creators are looking to create icons and designs that are user friendly. By creating this package of different social media and gaming icons that makes there life much easier. just some simple icons and design that be used they improve visual interest and grab the user's attention. They help guide users while they're navigating a page. Use too many icons and they'll become nothing more than decoration. 

Strengths

I spend alot of time creating icons that would match the interface of the users page and I believe it wouldnt fell like work and would be more fun. For the different packages i could have a wide variation of different icons so the user could find the right one for them.The icons would also match the brand identites or that users persona.

Weakness

We're now living in a time with different screen sizes, fluid layouts and varying pixel densities. This has had a major influence in how we deal with images and thus it only makes sense that it also influences how we deal with icons. When users become accustomed to recognising an icon as meaning something, altering the identity behind that icon  extremely confusing.

Target Audience

The target audience is any youtube content creators that have gaming channels or twitch channels and dont really have enough time to create there own icons themselves or designs.

How will I build it 

I will be be using Sketch and or Illustrator for the designing of the products. I aslo need to consider what format i will be giving out the Icons . After that i would then need to start to distribute the icons from my research. These may be the orginal file type or SVG . I wanted to focus on pricing and release 3 different sets of icons packets ;

the business model is a Freemium Probably would br the best model so i can give out free content and charge for premium content but to start with i would give away different icon packs so that i get notoriety and brand awareness , id host some of thr content on My Twitter and Dribble. 

Idea 3 - Sketch Course Tutorials 

Overview

I wanted to create Course Tutorials that break down the steps to logo design and how to be creative using sketch. when i first found sketch i really didnt know how to use it and wanted to try it , i had only really used illustrator and i knew that sketch was starting to become industry standard for studios. I wanted to start to create tutorials that broke down the different aspects of Sketch from APP design to logo design. I believe having these tutorials will make user and up and comiing graphic designer and UI designers a change to learn.

Strength

They enable the to learn on demand and when they are motivated. aslo most people learn better through visual communication rather than oral communication. Its easier to briefly review or skip tutorials if you arent a beginner.

Weakness

Frequently takes user who are less experience longer to learn via tutorials. Indviduals must be motivated enough to complete the tutorial.

Target Audience

The target audience for this product is for users who are trying to learn sketch or even are experienced in Sketch and want more experience with Sketch. also anyone who wanted to learn to create mock ups of apps before started to used the actual software to create it.

How will I build it

I would used Sketch to create the Tutorials and also I need to consider how I will be distributing the my digital product. I would need to offer my resources to the user in A sketch file and any other assets in PNG or SVG files. Since this product will only be one format I will only need to sell one.  They will be sold as Follows:

To start with I would need to give out my content for free so I can get brand awareness. id then host the tutorials on the website I would create ans also share it on Twitter. Then after the tutorials become popular I start to create a freemium buiness model that woulf give out tutorials qucik and simple and that are free , for the premium price I would go into more detail for the tutorials.

Microservices and Webservices used in Mobile Application Development

In the application development architecture there has been used two different terminologies for the development and layered architecture which are Micro services and Webservices. They provide different development styles to develop a mobile application which can be used by various mobile app development companies. Here we will discuss about their individual stability and the difference between them.
