WELCOME TO TOMORROW:
It's already here! Heck, some it’s been here for a while now...
If you think the virus is going to make changes read this! Many of us won’t see the changes, but our kids and grandkids probably will.
Basic auto repair shops will disappear.
A gas/diesel engine has 20,000 individual parts.
An electrical motor has only 20 parts.
Electric cars are sold with lifetime guarantees and are repaired only by dealers.
It takes only 10 minutes to remove and replace an electric motor.
Faulty electric motors are not repaired in the dealership but are sent to a regional repair shop that repairs them with robots.
Your electric motor malfunction light goes on, so you drive up to what looks like a car wash, and your car is towed through while you have a cup of coffee and out comes your car with a new electric motor!
Gas pumps will go away.
Street corners will have meters that dispense electricity.Companies will install electrical recharging stations; in fact, they’ve already started in the developed world.
Smart major auto manufacturers have already designated money to start building new plants that build only electric cars.
Gasoline/oil companies will go away.
Drilling for oil will stop. Say goodbye to OPEC! The middle east is in trouble.
Homes will produce and store more electrical energy during the day and than they use, and will sell it back to the grid.
The grid stores the surplus and dispense it to industries that are high electricity users. Has anybody seen the Tesla roof?
A baby of today will see personal cars only in museums.
In 1998, Kodak had 170,000 employees and sold 85% of all photo paper worldwide.
Within just a few years, their business model disappeared and they went bankrupt.
Did you think in 1998 that 3 years later you'd NEVER take pictures on film again? With today’s smartphones, who even has a camera these days?
Digital cameras were invented in 1975. The first ones only had 10,000 pixels, but followed Moore's law – that technological capacity will DOUBLE every year. So as with all exponential technologies, it was a disappointment for a time, before it became 'way superior and became mainstream in only a few short years.
What happened to Kodak and Polaroid will happen in a lot of industries in the next 5-10 years ....(but much faster) with Artificial Intelligence (AI), health, autonomous and electric cars, education, 3D printing, agriculture and jobs.
Software has disrupted and will continue to disrupt most traditional industries
UBER is just a software tool, they don't own any cars, and are now the biggest taxi company in the world! Ask any taxi driver if they saw that coming.
Airbnb is now the biggest hotel company in the world, although they don't own any properties. Ask Hilton Hotels if they saw that coming.
Artificial Intelligence:
Computers become exponentially better in understanding the world.
This year, a computer beat the best Go player in the world, 10 years earlier than expected.
In the USA, young lawyers already don't get jobs. Because of computers, you can get legal advice (so far for right now, the basic stuff) within seconds, with 90% accuracy – compared with 70% accuracy when done by humans. So, if you study law, stop immediately. There will be 90% fewer lawyers in the future, (what a thought!) only omniscient specialists will remain.
Computer programs already help nurses diagnosing cancer, and the programs are 4 times more accurate than human nurses.
Facebook now has a pattern recognition software that can recognize faces better than humans.
In 2030, computers will become more intelligent than humans.
Autonomous cars:
In 2018 the first self-driving cars were already here.
In the next 2 years, the entire industry will start to be disrupted.
You won’t WANT to own a car anymore as you will call a car with your phone, it will show up at your location and drive you to your destination
You will not need to park it. You will pay only for the driven distance and you can be productive while driving The very young children of today will never get a driver's license and will never own a car
This will change our cities because we will need 90-95% fewer cars. We can transform former parking lots into green parks.
About 1.2 million people die each year in car accidents worldwide including distracted or drunk driving. We now have one accident every 60,000 miles. With autonomous driving that will drop to 1 accident in 6 million miles. That will save more than a million lives worldwide each year.
Some traditional car companies will doubtless become bankrupt. They will try the evolutionary approach and just build a better car, while tech companies (Tesla, Apple, Google) will do the revolutionary approach and build a computer on wheels.Look at what Volvo is doing right now; no more internal combustion engines in their vehicles starting with the 2019 models using all-electric or hybrid only, with the intent of phasing out the hybrid models.
Many engineers from Volkswagen and Audi are completely terrified of Tesla – and they should be. Look at all the companies offering all-electric vehicles. That was unheard of only a few years ago.
Insurance companies will have massive trouble because, without accidents, the costs will become cheaper. Their auto insurance business model will disappear. (But notice some now offer data/identity protection along with home and life... )
Real estate will change. If you can work from home (or from literally anywhere), people will abandon their towers to move far away to more beautiful affordable locations...
Electric cars will become mainstream about 2030. Cities will be less noisy because all new cars will run on electricity.
Cities will have much cleaner air as well.
Electricity will become incredibly cheap and clean.
Solar production has been on an exponential curve for 30 years, but you can now see the burgeoning impact. And it’s just getting ramped up.
Fossil energy companies are desperately trying to limit access to the grid to prevent competition from home solar installations, but that simply cannot continue - technology will take care of that strategy.
Health:
The "Tricorder X" (called the Tricorder from Star Trek) that works with your phone – taking your retina scan, your blood sample, and you breathe into it.
It analyses 54 bio-markers that will identify nearly any disease.
There are dozens of phone apps out right now for health.
Welcome to the 4th Industrial Revolution.

HRH Carl Philip, Prince of Sweden, is signing the Volkswagen guest book. From left: HRH Carl Philip, Prince of Sweden next to Andreas Renschler, CEO of TRATON SE and a Member of the Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft Board of Management Visit centered on Volkswagen’s e-mobility strategy and test drives in the Volkswagen Group’s latest-generation electric vehicles Sweden is one of Europe’s largest markets for electric vehicles – Passat GTE1 is the best-selling electric car in Sweden With Scania, the Volkswagen Group is one of the largest industrial investors in Sweden – €2.4 billion invested in the country in the last ten years Prince Carl Philip met with Swedish startup entrepreneurs at a Volkswagen event on innovative manufacturing technologies and Industry 4.0 Sweden is the Partner Country of Hannover Messe 2019. During his official visit to Germany, Prince Carl Philip was welcomed by Volkswagen Group representatives in Wolfsburg and found out more about the company’s e-mobility strategy. The Swedish Prince was one of the first to test the Group’s new generation of electric cars, including models from the Volkswagen ID. family. Sweden is one of Europe’s largest markets for electric vehicles. Andreas Renschler, CEO of TRATON SE and a Member of the Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft Board of Management, said: “Sweden is a role model in the area of climate protection. Today, more than half of the electricity generated already comes from renewable sources. That is an essential prerequisite for making e-mobility sustainable for passenger cars as well as trucks and buses.” He went on to say: “We have several innovative e-mobility projects in Sweden, for example, Scania will soon begin testing self-driving electric buses for Stockholm’s public transport system.” Sweden is one of Europe’s largest markets for electric vehicles and therefore an important sales market for the Group’s electric models. With reference to Prince Carl Philip’s test drives, the Volkswagen Brand Board Member for Technical Development, Dr. Frank Welsch, commented: “Prince Carl Philip of Sweden is a talented racing driver and an expert on cars. He was a successful participant in the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia from 2008 to 2011. And he visited the Rally Sweden and the Volkswagen Motorsport team. I am delighted that an acknowledged specialist is one of the first to test our new generation of electric vehicles that will hit the market from 2020. Sweden will be one of the major sales markets for our ID.” His Royal Highness Prince Carl Philip met with 34 Swedish startup entrepreneurs in Germany for Hannover Messe 2019 on his visit to the Volkswagen Smart.Production:Lab in the IT:City, Wolfsburg. These selected startups participated in an Innovation Day at Volkswagen where concepts and innovations such as electrically-powered automated transport concepts and virtual reality solutions as well as machine learning and artificial intelligence software tools were presented. The event was designed to intensify Swedish-German cooperation in the field of innovative manufacturing technologies and Industry 4.0. The Volkswagen Group is one of the largest industrial investors in Sweden. Scania invested €2.4 billion in Sweden in the last ten years. Scania produces trucks and buses in Europe, South America and Asia and is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of sustainable transport solutions. 96,500 trucks and buses were delivered to customers in 2018 – 19,000 of which were built at the Swedish plant in Södertälje. 20,700 of Scania’s total workforce of 52,100 are employed in Sweden. In early 2018, Scania invested €10 million in the battery manufacturing company Northvolt. The collaboration concerns the industrial scale production of battery cells. A joint research consortium called European Battery Union led by Volkswagen and Northvolt was announced recently. The consortium is applying for funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy to finance the research, development and industrial scale production of battery technology. Furthermore, the Volkswagen Group is one of the largest car manufacturers in Sweden. 103,000 passenger cars and 16,700 trucks from the Group were registered in Sweden in 2018, accounting for a 27.4 percent share of the passenger car market and a 30 percent share of the truck market. The Volkswagen Golf, Passat and Tiguan are among the top ten passenger car models in Sweden’s registration statistics, putting Volkswagen in second place behind Volvo. Electric vehicles accounted for a market share of eight percent in Sweden in 2018. The Volkswagen Passat GTE Leslie Bothge- photos Volkswagen

AUTOMOTIVE-INSPIRED PRODUCT DESIGNS THAT ARE A MUST HAVE FOR EVERY CAR LOVER!
AUTOMOTIVE-INSPIRED PRODUCT DESIGNS

Automotive Designs are iconic for a reason. Starting with the Jaguar E-type, the most lovely automobile ever made, the Elton John accepted Lamborghini Mura, the Volkswagen Beetle – lovingly named the bug, the Porsche 911 – likely the most recognized sports vehicle within the global to the today's trendsetting Tesla Cybertruck, every automotive aficionado will be able to tell each of those automobiles from their silhouette itself. We recognise it’s almost impossible for every body to very own these motors but why have to that preserve us far from expressing our love for them? Every product in this series pays homage to an iconic car brand, allowing you to uphold your favorite while having it double up as purposeful portions of product design in your space. In the words of Lighting McQueen, its Ka-Chow time! Tesla G

The Tesla G (that’s what designer Prokop Strnka calls it) concept is basically an out of doors garden-trimming Roomba. It runs autonomously, driving in lines around your garden, trimming the grass but keeping off your prize rose shrubbery or your microgreens nursery. The lawnmower is predicated on a model of Tesla’s autopilot set of rules to actively experiment and sense its environments because it drives through tall grass. Sensors at the mower can assist come across the difference between grass and plants, and can actively map out your lawn so the mower doesn’t emerge as crossing over the cobblestone onto the road, or your neighbor’s property. The mower runs on sun power, but whilst it’s low on juice and it’s fairly darkish out, it scoots over to its wireless-charging hub to speedy juice up its battery. Fridge

The VW Fridge (an real fridge!) comes as a collaboration between European appliance large Gorenje and none other than Volkswagen whom we realize too well. The refrigerator (part of Gorenje’s Retro Edition) outwardly is an ideal homage to the surfer/hippie generation with its front facade right away reminding us of the VW Bulli or the Microbus that took the sector by using storm inside the 50-60s. Using the scrumptious coloration palette that VW relied on, the refrigerator comes inspite of the chrome trims, the unmistakable VW logo, and a silhouette that does a exceptional process of juxtaposing a triumphing aesthetic from automotive records onto a kitchen appliance.

For an automobile enthusiast, anything even remotely car-related deserves a place of their home, and this desk clearly earns its proper to emerge as the centerpiece! Based round an authentic 20-inch forged aluminum rim from the pinnacle of the automobile world, Ferrari, the Velocita desk by Alan Liu of Mobellio stylishly captures the speed and drama of the enduring brand. A thin sheet of advanced tempered glass that permits the wheel to be regarded from all angles rests upon the stunning and elegantly shaped wood frame, in which its elongated form artistically portrays the rate and strength that the Italian supercars are renowned for. To balance out this wonderfully crafted piece of furniture, a brake disc sits on an additional platform, which adds to the visual interest of the product! Speaker

A speaker for all of the Porsche aficionados is here! Porsche Design created the 911 speaker that not only looks as if the unique exhaust pipes of the iconic Porsche 911 GT3 however is crafted from them! The high-performance sports automobile has been an final crowd-pleaser due to the fact 1963. (Predictions 1/2019) The Future of Network Marketing
Many are saying the future of network marketing is Apps. I feel a few people will make a decent income promoting apps, while apps are the future, I don’t believe they are the future of network marketing.
I have always believed you can see the future by understanding the past.
The real product in network marketing is people. Your long term income is in direct proportion to the number of LEADERS that you DEVELOP on your team.
Anyone remember I Living App that was launched in 2013? It was going to be the next big thing.
The reason for this article is I have had multiple emails asking me about TYPR which I have not researched in any detail because I don’t need to. If you have not heard about it, basically my perception is it is an Uber/Lyft knock off. I have no details, but theoretically it is a good idea. But ideas don’t mean didly, it is all about the implementation of ideas. Ideas are a dime-a-dozen.
If you were a satisfied Uber user, and you shared the Uber app with others and received a small override, that sounds doable.
The longer I live the more I believe most wannprenuers / entrepreneurs have the vision of a bowling ball. (Little to None)
I have always believed and always will believe that success requires hard work, personal education and if you can get in front of a trend you are ahead of the game. “The trend is your friend”
Here are a couple of rules I believe.
The more credible the company, the longer they have been in business, the less of an upside potential exist with that company. I believe that with the right skill set training, mindset training and work ethic, a full time income can be built with any company in the market.
$100,000 a year is possible but the same work may create a $1,000,000.00 income if you are in front of a trend. Does that make sense? For some people long term security is an important motivator and I understand and appreciate that. I recently saw a video where a guy that started about the same time I did, has now joined Shaklee. Yes I took a double take, but I understand.
Ground floor opportunities in general usually have more challenges.
Rarely category creators enter the market that have mass market potential. Example: In the mid 90”s Jeff Olson & Eric Worre started The People’s Network. They offered Satellite services and a paid personal development channel that offered programs from some of the top personal development, and niche business speakers of the time. The challenge……there was no Mass Appeal. The people that would love the programming rarely stopped to watch TV and the people that could benefit from the programming the most would rather be watching Two Broke Girls or some other brainless, worthless TV Show. If and when you run across a category creator you should take a deep look, if you are looking.I
What is the existing and upside potential of the product from a consumer standpoint?
100% of zero is zero. No matter the company, not matter the products, the work is the same. You must create customers, recruit, and build a team.
Off the top of my head, here are a few companies that I consider to be category creators when they launched.
NSA Melaleuca (First autoship company) Tupperware Logaberger Baskets
MPB Grocery Delivery Herbalife (First network marketing company to use Infomercials)
Regarding TYRP or any opportunity now, or in the future regarding transportation, I would not suggest clients get involved with. My question is always, where will this be in 5 years, 10 years, 15 years? Here is what many experts are saying. If you want to make quick cash at this moment and time, Uber itself is a great option. I don’t suggest attempting to build a long term residual income around the transportation industry as it exist today, here is why.
AUTO REPAIR SHOPS WILL GO AWAY
A gasoline engine has 20,000 individual parts. An electrical motor has 20. Electric cars are sold with lifetime guarantees and are only repaired by dealers. It takes only 10 minutes to remove and replace an electric motor. Faulty electric motors are not repaired in the dealership but are sent to a regional repair shop that repairs them with robots. Your electric motor malfunction light goes on, so you drive up to what looks like a Jiffy-auto wash, and your car is towed through while you have a cup of coffee and out comes your car with a new electric motor!
GAS STATIONS WILL DISAPEAR
Parking meters will be replaced by meters that dispense electricity. Companies will install electrical recharging stations; in fact, they’ve already started. You can find them at select Dunkin Donuts locations right now. Most (the smart) major auto manufacturers have already designated money to start building new plants that only build electric cars.
Coal industries will go away. Gasoline/oil companies will go away. Drilling for oil will stop. So say goodbye to OPEC! Homes will produce and store more electrical energy during the day and then they use and will sell it back to the grid. The grid stores it and dispenses it to industries that are high electricity users. Has anybody seen the Tesla roof?
A baby of today will only see personal cars in museums. The FUTURE is approaching faster than most of us can handle. In 1998, Kodak had 170,000 employees and sold 85% of all photo paper worldwide. Within just a few years, their business model disappeared and they went bankrupt. Who would have thought of that ever happening?
Did you think in 1998 that 3 years later, you would never take pictures on film again? With today’s smart phones, who even has a digital camera these days? What happened to Kodak will happen in a lot of industries in the next 5-10 years and, most people don’t see it coming. Yet digital cameras were invented in 1975. The first ones only had 10,000 pixels, but followed Moore’s law. So as with all exponential technologies, it was a disappointment for a time, before it became way superior and became mainstream in only a few short years.
It will now happen again (but much faster) with Artificial Intelligence, health, autonomous and electric cars, education, 3D printing, agriculture and jobs. Forget the book, “Future Shock”, welcome to the 4th Industrial Revolution. Software has disrupted and will continue to disrupt most traditional industries in the next 5-10 years. UBER is just a software tool, they don’t own any cars, and are now the biggest taxi company in the world! Ask any taxi driver if they saw that coming. Airbnb is now the biggest hotel company in the world, although they don’t own any properties. Ask Hilton Hotels if they saw that coming. Artificial Intelligence: Computers become exponentially better in understanding the world. This year, a computer beat the best Go-player in the world, 10 years earlier than expected.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with GO (Go is an abstract strategy board game for two players, in which the aim is to surround more territory than the opponent. … The players take turns placing the stones on the vacant intersections (“points”) of a board) In the USA, young lawyers already don’t get jobs. Because of IBM’s Watson, you can get legal advice (so far for right now, the basic stuff) within seconds, with 90% accuracy compared with 70% accuracy when done by humans. So, if you study law, stop immediately. There will be 90% fewer lawyers in the future, (what a thought!) only omniscient specialists will remain.
Watson already helps nurses diagnosing cancer, its 4 times more accurate than human nurses. Facebook now has a pattern recognition software that can recognize faces better than humans. By 2030, computers will become more intelligent than humans.
AUTONOMOUS CARS
In 2018 the first self-driving cars and semi-trucks arrived. In the next 2 years, the entire industry will start to be disrupted. You won’t want to own a car anymore as you will call a car with your phone, it will show up at your location and drive you to your destination. You will not need to park it you will only pay for the driven distance and you can be productive while driving. The very young children of today will never get a driver’s license and will never own a car. Uber itself is building their own electric car company.
This will change our cities, because we will need 90-95% fewer cars. We can transform former parking spaces into parks. 1.2 million people die each year in car accidents worldwide including distracted or drunk driving. We now have one accident every 60,000 miles; with autonomous driving that will drop to 1 accident in 6 million miles. That will save a million lives plus worldwide each year. It is highly likely that many traditional car companies that don’t adapt quickly will become bankrupt.
My thoughts is traditional car companies will try the evolutionary approach and just build a better car, while tech companies (Tesla, Apple, Google) will do the revolutionary approach and build a computer on wheels. Look at what Volvo is doing right now; no more internal combustion engines in their vehicles starting this year with the 2019 models, using all electric or hybrid only, with the intent of phasing out hybrid models.
Many engineers from Volkswagen and Audi; are completely terrified of Tesla and so they should be. Look at all the companies offering all electric vehicles. That was unheard of, only a couple of years ago. Insurance companies will have massive trouble because, without accidents, the costs will become cheaper. Their car insurance business model will disappear. Real estate will change. Because if you can work while you commute, people will move farther away to live in a more beautiful or affordable neighborhood. Realtors are “middle men” that are already being phased out by multiple of internet websites and apps as most reading this realize.
ENERGY IS GOING TO BE DISRUPTED
Electric cars will become mainstream about 2030. Cities will be less noisy because all new cars will run on electricity. Cities will have much cleaner air as well. Electricity will become incredibly cheap and clean. Solar production has been on an exponential curve for 30 years, but you can now see the huge impact. And it’s just getting ramped up. Fossil energy companies are desperately trying to limit access to the grid to prevent competition from home solar installations, but that simply cannot continue – technology will take care of that strategy.
The huge mainstream network marketing energy companies like Ambit are going to be effected.
BLIND VITAMIN AND NUTRITIONAL COMPANIES WILL GRADUALLY DISAPPEAR
Health: The Tricorder X price will be announced this year. There are companies who will build a medical device (called the “Tricorder” from Star Trek) that works with your phone, which takes your retina scan, your blood sample and you breath into it. It then analyses multiple bio-markers that will identify nearly any Disease. There are dozens of phone apps out there right now for health purposes.
When I started in the network marketing industry back in 1980 if you walked into a grocery store you could find One a Day Vitamins and Therogran M. You needed to dust them off before you bought them because they had been sitting on the shelf for so long.
As all of you know, you walk into those same grocery stores today, they have full blown health food stores within the grocery stores. However I believe those days are coming to an end. This is the future of the vitamin and supplement business: http://www.PersonalDNANutrition.com and it too is already here.
Many researches tell us that technology is moving forward so quickly that our human minds cannot keep up with it. Many people are aggravated and frustrated. I talk to network marketers weekly that are sick and tired or “dealing with network marketers”. The truth is, people are people. Many of the challenges the profession faces today is because we have brought those challenges upon ourselves as I talk about in detail in the free MLM Scam program.
Honestly, I am more excited about the future than I can express! I know like many of you, that for the industry to move forward we have to move back to go forward. The build people and people will build the business philosophy that the profession was founded upon will ultimately move the profession forward.
If you agree with that statement, I hope you will take the time, and view the training at www.TakeBacktheIndustry.com
Welcome to the future, it is here now!
As Always your comments and feedback are Welcome !

2016 Mercedes Benz S Class S550 Plug in Hybrid
2016 Mercedes Benz S Class S550 Plug in Hybrid Review
Since the 1970s, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class has spoken to the zenith of car brilliance and a benchmark for whatever remains of the car scene. It could even be contended that Mercedes opened the path from the begin, when the organizer of the organization Karl Benz developed the auto.
Today, the vehicle and the 2016 Mercedes Benz S Class S550 Plug in Hybrid are all benchmarks their celebrated progenitors were, with a remarkable blend of building, innovation and extravagance that overruns everything from the stereo suspension. This is an auto that can be prepared itself in unpredictable movement while giving a back rub to the hot stones and naturally modifies the suspension to counter the knocks out and about before driving on them. It’s only an arbitrary specimen of his pack of devilishness. There are six models, two body styles, six back rub situate groups, 12 music sources, 24 amplifiers, four indoor fragrances 11 airbags and up to four monster screens. The force of the motor shifts from 436 to 621 pull.
We could go on, however simply say, the S-Class vehicle and the roadster are effectively among the best autos sold today. Truth be told, the vehicle feels like a stage over the conventional contenders, positively less expensive than the Audi A8, BMW 7 Series and Jaguar XJ, particularly as far as indoor environment and plushness. As it were, it feels nearer to more costly at the highest point of the cruising vehicle like the Bentley Flying Spur. Correspondingly, the S-Class roadster is better contrasted with the Bentley Continental GT, as no other contender apples with apples. Regardless, it is difficult to envision being frustrated by a S-Class.

2016 Mercedes Benz S Class S550 Plug in Hybrid Inward Design and Individuals
The taxicabs of most extravagance autos logo feel like greater, more clever renditions of the “littler” models, shares the general outline stylish and many control parts. Not all that the Mercedes-Benz S-Class 2016. In spite of the fact that the new C-Class has obtained some plan components and switches here and there, the S-Class is still an extraordinary auto that exists over the rest. There is a class and a feeling of richness here that make you feel more like a contender for a Bentley than a BMW.
Past the stylish, couple of autos can approach solace and infotainment elements of the new S-Class. The arrangement seats are enchanting; however, we suggest the premium multi contour bundle seats with extra changes, ventilation and back rub six settings. That is six. One even recreates a back rub with hot stones utilizing components of warming of the seat. What’s more, in the event that your back travelers are envious, the same lavish elements of the front seat (counting changes) are accessible in the colossal back seat of the car. What’s more, you can include a diversion framework, fly out arrangement style tables and even a cooler.
Those that are not accessible in the roadster, but rather even the back seat is very liberal size for a two-entryway auto. Furthermore, the absence of columns B offers an open driving background transparently, which couple of autos can coordinate.
All S Class infotainment capacities are controlled by the most recent form of COMAND Mercedes, which stays one of the least demanding to utilize (despite the fact that the huge measure of usefulness possibly makes it overpowering at first). Contrasted with the E-Class setup and numerous different Mercedes models, the new 2016 Mercedes Benz S Class S550 Plug in Hybrid interface includes an extensive focal screen, one of a kind illustrations, controller touchpad outline and an alternate physical catch (catches for capacities Frequently utilized are assembled around the fundamental control catch rather than on the guide). Instantly beside the infotainment of the screen is the dashboard, which in itself is a screen additionally vast mimicked advanced screens.
The storage compartment, as you can anticipate from a 17-foot car, is sufficiently huge for 16.3 cubic feet. Note, in any case, that the 24-speaker Burmester top of the line sound framework “extensively” decreases the storage compartment volume, as indicated by Mercedes. The Hybrid S550 Plug-in additionally has a littler trunk (12.2 cubic feet) because of its battery.
2016 Mercedes Benz S Class S550 Plug in Hybrid Impressions of Conduct
Simple. Here’s the manner by which you feel the Mercedes-Benz S-Class 2015, when you’re in the driver’s seat. The directing is sufficiently light, and when outfitted with a track help and/or Distronic Plus journey control, even unobtrusively driving the auto for you. Be that as it may, you will be stunned at how adroitly this expansive car and the car fall back on them and pivot a corner. Too adjusted is the S-Class vehicle that earned it a rating at “A” both the S550 and S 63 AMG. So, it’s nothing unexpected that the S550 roadster won our top of the line “A” too.
You may think you appreciated a happy with driving before yet more probable nothing contrasted with the customizable air suspension fitted with the S-Class not just potholes to bubble it manages without a touch of floaties. Also, the ride is stunningly better with the discretionary Body Magic vehicle control. New story in Technology from Time: Artificial Intelligence Is Here To Calm Your Road Rage
I am behind the wheel of a Nissan Leaf, circling a parking lot, trying not to let the day’s nagging worries and checklists distract me to the point of imperiling pedestrians. Like all drivers, I am unwittingly communicating my stress to this vehicle in countless subtle ways: the strength of my grip on the steering wheel, the slight expansion of my back against the seat as I breathe, the things I mutter to myself as I pilot around cars and distracted pedestrians checking their phones in the parking lot.
“Hello, Corinne,” a calm voice says from the audio system. “What’s stressing you out right now?”
The conversation that ensues offers a window into the ways in which artificial intelligence could transform our experience behind the wheel: not by driving the car for us, but by taking better care of us as we drive.
Before coronavirus drastically altered our routines, three-quarters of U.S. workers—some 118 million people—commuted to the office alone in a car. From 2009 to 2019, Americans added an average of two minutes to their commute each way, according to U.S. Census data. That negligible daily average is driven by a sharp increase in the number of people making “super commutes of 90 minutes or more each way, a population that increased 32% from 2005 to 2017. The long-term impact of COVID-19 on commuting isn’t clear, but former transit riders who opt to drive instead of crowding into buses or subway cars may well make up for car commuters who skip at least some of their daily drives and work from home instead.
Longer commutes are associated with increased physical health risks like high blood pressure, obesity, stroke and sleep disorders. A 2017 research project at the University of the West of England found that every extra minute of the survey respondents’ commutes correlated with lower job and leisure time satisfaction. Adding 20 minutes to a commute, researchers found, has the same depressing effect on job satisfaction as a 19% pay cut.
Switching modes of transit can offer some relief: people who walk, bike or take trains to work tend to be happier commuters than those who drive (and, as a University of Amsterdam study recently found, they tend to miss their commute more during lockdown). But reliable public transit is not universally available, nor are decent jobs always close to affordable housing.
Technology has long promised that an imminent solution is right around the corner: self-driving cars. In the near future, tech companies claim, humans won’t drive so much as be ferried about by fully autonomous cars that will navigate safely and efficiently to their destinations, leaving the people inside free to sleep, work or relax as easily as if they were on their own couch. A commute might be a lot less stressful if you could nap the whole way there, or get lost in a book or Netflix series without having to worry about exits or collisions.
Google executives went on the record claiming self-driving cars would be widely available within five years in 2012; they said the same thing again in 2015. Elon Musk throws out ship dates for fully autonomous Teslas as often as doomsday cult leaders reschedule the end of the world. Yet these forecasted utopias have still not arrived.
The majority of carmakers have walked back their most ambitious estimates. It will likely be decades before such cars are a reality for even a majority of drivers. In the meantime, the car commute remains a big, unpleasant, unhacked chunk of time in millions of Americans’ daily lives.
A smaller and less heralded group of researchers is working on how cars can make us happier while we drive them. It may be decades before artificial intelligence can completely take over piloting our vehicles. In the short run, however, it may be able to make us happier—and healthier—pilots.
Lane changes, left turns, four-way stops and the like are governed by rules, but also rely on drivers’ making on-the-spot judgments with potentially deadly consequences. These are also the moments where driver stress spikes.
Many smart car features currently on the market give drivers data that assist with these decisions, like sensors that alert them when cars are in their blind spots or their vehicle is drifting out of its lane.
Another thing that causes drivers stress is uncertainty. One 2015 study found commuters who drove themselves to work were more stressed by the journey than were transit riders or other commuters, largely because of the inconsistency that accidents, roadwork and other traffic snarls caused in their schedules. But even if we can’t control the variables that affect a commute, we’re calmer if we can at least anticipate them—hence the popularity of real-time arrival screens at subway and bus stops.
The Beaverton, Ore.-based company Traffic Technology Services (TTS) makes a product called the Personal Signal Assistant, a platform that enables cars to communicate with traffic signals in areas where that data is publicly available. TTS’s first client, Audi, used the system to build a tool that counts down the remaining seconds of a red light (visually, on the dashboard) when a car is stopped at one, and suggests speed modifications as the car approaches a green light. The tool was designed to keep traffic flowing—no more honking at distracted drivers who don’t notice the light has turned green. But users also reported a marked decrease in stress. At the moment, the technology works in 26 North American metropolitan areas and two cities in Europe.
TTS has 60 full- and part-time employees in the U.S. and Germany, and recently partnered with Lamborghini, Bentley and a handful of corporate clients. Yet CEO Thomas Bauer says it can be hard to interest investors in technologies that focus on improving human drivers’ experience instead of just rendering them obsolete. “We certainly don’t draw the same excitement with investors as [companies focused on] autonomous driving,” Bauer says. “What we do is not quite as exciting because it doesn’t take the driver out of the picture just yet.”
Pablo Paredes, an instructor of radiology and psychiatry at the Stanford School of Medicine, is the director of the school’s Pervasive Wellbeing Technology Lab. Situated in a corner of a cavernous Palo Alto, Calif., office building that used to be the headquarters of the defunct health-technology company Theranos, the lab looks for ways to rejigger the habits and objects people use in their everyday lives to improve mental and physical health. Team members don’t have to look far for reminders of what happens when grandiose promises aren’t backed up by data: Theranos’ circular logo is still inlaid in brass in the building’s marble-floored atrium.
It can be hard to tell the lab’s experiments from its standard-issue office furniture. To overcome the inertia that often leads users of adjustable-height desks to sit more often than stand, one of the workstations in the team’s cluster of cubicles has been outfitted with a sensor and mechanical nodule that make it rise and lower at preset intervals, smoothly enough that a cup of coffee won’t spill. In early trials, users particularly absorbed in their work just kept typing as the desk rose up and slowly stood along with it.
But the millions of hours consumed in the U.S. each day by the daily drive to work hold special fascination for Paredes. He’s drawn to the challenge of transforming a part of the day generally thought of as detrimental to health into something therapeutic. “The commute for me is the big elephant in the room,” he says. “There are very simple things that we’re overlooking in normal life that can be greatly improved and really repurposed to help a lot of people.”
In a 2018 study, Paredes and his colleagues found that it’s possible to infer a driver’s muscle tension—a proxy for stress—from the movement of their hands on a car’s steering wheel. They’re now experimenting with cameras that detect neck tension by noting the subtle changes in the angle of a driver’s head as it bobs with the car’s movements.
The flagship of the team’s mindful-commuting project is the silver-colored Nissan Leaf in their parking lot. The factory-standard electric vehicle has been tricked out with a suite of technologies designed to work together to decrease a driver’s stress.
On a test drive earlier this year, a chatbot speaking through the car’s audio system offered me the option of engaging in a guided breathing exercise. When I verbally agreed, the driver’s seatback began vibrating at intervals, while the voice instructed me to breathe along with its rhythm.
The lab published the results of a small study earlier this year showing that the seat-guided exercise reduced driver stress and breathing rates without impairing performance. They are now experimenting with a second vibrating system to see if lower-frequency vibrations could be used to slow breathing rates (and therefore stress) without any conscious effort on the driver’s part.
The goal, eventually, is a mass-market car that can detect an elevation in a driver’s stress level, via seat and steering wheel sensors or the neck-tension cameras. It would then automatically engage the calming-breath exercise, or talk through a problem or tell a joke to ease tension, using scripts developed with the input of cognitive behavioral therapists.
These technologies have value even as cars’ autonomous capabilities advance, Paredes says. Even if a car is fully self-driving, the human inside will still often be a captive audience of one, encased in a private space with private worries and fears.
Smarter technologies alone aren’t the solution to commuters’ problems. The auto industry has a long history of raising drivers’ tolerance for long commutes by making cars more comfortable and attractive places to be—all the while promising a better driving experience that’s just around the corner, says Peter Norton, an associate professor of science, technology, and society at the University of Virginia and author of Fighting Traffic: The Dawn of the Motor Age in the American City. From his perspective, stress-busting seats would join radios and air conditioners as distractions from bigger discussions about planning, transit and growing inequality, all of which could offer much more value to commuters than a nicer car.
In addition, how long it will be before these latest features become widely available options is an open question. Paredes’ lab had to suspend work during the pandemic, as it’s hard to maintain social distancing while working inside of a compact sedan. TTS is in talks to expand its offerings to other automakers, and Paredes has filed patents on some of his lab’s inventions. But just because a technology is relatively easy to integrate in a car doesn’t mean it will be standard soon. The first commercially available backup cameras came on the market in 1991. Despite their effectiveness in reducing collisions, only 24% of cars on the road had them by 2016, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and most were newer luxury vehicles. (The cameras are now required by law in all new vehicles.)
These technologies also raise new questions of inequality and exploitation. It’s one thing for a commuter to opt for a seat that calms them down after a tough day. But if you drive for a living, should the company that owns your vehicle have the right to insist that you use a seat cover that elevates your breath rate and keeps you alert at the wheel? Who owns the health data your car collects, and who gets to access it? All of the unanswered questions that self-driving technologies raise apply to self-soothing technologies as well.
Back in Palo Alto, the pandemic still weeks away, I am piloting the Leaf around the parking lot with a member of the lab gamely along for the ride in the back. The chatbot asks again what’s stressing me out. I have a deadline, I say, for a magazine article about cars and artificial intelligence.
The bot asks if this problem is “significantly” affecting my life (not really), if I’ve encountered something similar before (yep), if previous strategies could be adapted to this scenario (they can) and when I’ll be able to enter a plan to tackle this problem in my calendar (later, when I’m not driving). I do feel a little better. I talk to myself alone in the car all the time. It’s kind of nice to have the car talk back.
“Great. I’m glad you can do something about it. By breaking down a problem into tiny steps, we can often string together a solution,” the car says. “Sound good?”

Toyota Raize revealed in full: Engine, specifications, features, accessories and more details revealed
8th Nov 2019 5:00 am
Interested in the Raize compact SUV? Here’s every part you might want to find out about Toyota’s new SUV.
Toyota’s been elevating plenty of eyebrows with its new sub-four-metre SUV, the aptly named Raize, which is a world mannequin. The compact SUV, which is on sale in Japan, is a badge-engineered sibling to the Daihatsu Rocky that had been unveiled earlier on the 2019 Tokyo Motor present. We take a more in-depth take a look at the Toyota Raize and pinpoint its relevance for the Indian market.
It’s technically Toyota’s first ‘compact SUV’
The Toyota Raize is just not the model’s first SUV that is below 4 metres in size. In its home market, Toyota makes loads of Kei vehicles, which adhere to Japan’s legal guidelines for small vehicles (below 3.4m in size, a 660cc engine producing no more than 64hp, and so forth). What makes the Toyota Raize considerably distinctive is that its 3,995mm size, 1,695mm width and 1,620mm peak make it about the identical dimension because the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon. The Raize’s 2,525mm wheelbase and 185mm floor clearance is on par with the section too, as are the 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels on supply with the top-spec variants (decrease trims get 16-inch metal wheels or alloys).
While the Raize isn’t the primary Toyota to be based mostly on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform – a low-cost by-product of the modular Toyota New Global Architecture for rising markets – it’s model’s first SUV to be underpinned by it. The key phrase right here is ‘rising markets’ however more on that later.
Toyota Raize: Dimensions Length 3995mm Width 1695mm Height 1620mm Wheelbase 2520mm Track (entrance/rear) 1475/1470mm Ground clearance 185mm Boot area 369 litres Turning radius 4.9-5m Kerb weight 970-1050kg Tyre sizes 195/65 R16-195/60 R17 Fuel tank 36 litres
It’s acquired a turbo-petrol engine
For the Japanese market, the Raize is powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine (one other apparent indication that this Toyota is just not a Kei car). This 996cc engine is tuned to provide 98hp at 6,000rpm and 140Nm of torque at 2,400-4,000rpm and comes paired to a CVT automated gearbox. To put these numbers into perspective, the Venue’s and EcoSport’s 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engines make 120hp/172Nm and 125hp/170Nm, respectively, whereas the XUV300’s and Nexon’s bigger 1.2-litre turbo-petrols produce 110hp/200Nm and 110hp/170Nm, respectively.
What the Toyota Raize does get, a minimum of for the Japanese market, is an optionally available four-wheel-drive system, which is a typical characteristic on small Japanese vehicles. On the WLTC driving cycle, the 2WD mannequin is rated at 18.6kpl whereas the 4WD is rated at 17.4kpl, due to the engine start-stop system that comes as commonplace.
Toyota Raize: Powertrain Engine sort Three cyl, turbo-petrol Displacement 996cc Power 98hp at 6000rpm Torque 140Nm at 2400-4000rpm Gearbox CVT Fuel effectivity (WLTC) 18.6kpl (2WD)/17.4kpl (4WD)
It’s actually fairly feature-rich
When it involves the options, know-how and creature comforts on supply, the Toyota Raize is undoubtedly well-kitted. Safety options embody six airbags, traction management and electrical stability management, ABS with EBD, hill-start help, lane hold help, a blind spot monitoring system, adaptive automated headlamps with a static bending perform, entrance and rear parking sensors, autonomous braking, a 360-degree digicam and rear cross visitors alert.
Lower-spec variants include a free-standing 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that takes delight of place on the black-and-silver dashboard, although higher-spec trims get a bigger 9.0-inch unit. Both get Apple CarPlay compatibility and Toyota’s Smart Device Link connectivity suite (which incorporates Bluetooth and different types of smartphone integration). Toyota’s navigation app – T-Connect – can be on supply with each methods.
A serious spotlight of the Raize is its instrument cluster that’s break up into two components – an LED digital speedometer (with the gasoline gauge under) and a 7.0-inch TFT color show that may be configured in 4 modes.
Keyless entry and go, push-button begin, automated local weather management, heated entrance seats, USB ports on the entrance and rear, 4 audio system and two tweeters and steering-mounted audio controls are part of the bundle on the top-spec Raize variations.
LED headlights, tail-lights, fog lamps, DRLs and Audi-like dynamic indicators are additionally on supply. Toyota presents a alternative of eight monotone paint finishes – white, black, silver, pink, beige, yellow, darkish blue and turquoise – together with three dual-tone shades – silver and black; white and black; and turquoise and black.
It’s sensible (for its dimension)
Toyota says they’re focusing on prospects who need to drive an SUV, who need to load their vehicles with plenty of baggage, but in addition want the car to be compact and simple to drive. In an effort to satisfy this temporary, the Raize comes with a 369-litre (a bit bigger than these of like-sized compact SUVs in India) and 60:40 break up folding rear seats. To add even more practicality to the boot space, there’s a movable (and detachable) deck board that liberates more area. There are additionally loads of cubbies and storage areas throughout the cabin to carry cups, bottles, smartphones, sun shades and even sneakers.
What this implies for the Indian market
It is unlikely we’ll see the Toyota Raize on India roads, but when it did make it right here, it might have competed in opposition to the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Toyota and Suzuki are already engaged on a variety of fashions for India below a brand new partnership that can see the latter present the Vitara Brezza compact SUV, Ertiga MPV and Ciaz sedan to the previous, similar to the Baleno grew to become the Glanza.
The excellent news is that the DNGA modular platform, particularly made for rising markets, might be dropped at India, the place it’s expected to underpin a jointly developed (Suzuki-Toyota) midsize SUV that’ll rival the Hyundai Creta and the hot-selling Kia Seltos.
Given that this midsize SUV is anticipated to be bigger than the Raize, it received’t qualify for the tax sops for vehicles below 4 metres but it surely certain will add to the SUV’s practicality.
Stay tuned for more info.
Would you prefer to see the Toyota Raize dropped at India? Let us know in the feedback under.

My expectation of the Model 3 test drive
The test drive with the Tesla Model 3 is to find out how the latest Tesla works and therefore by the way: what makes the Model 3 different from the larger Model S (apart from the length). In order to find out, I did a trip to the countryside – a short tour through the varied Lower Austria.
Introducing my individual passengers
Andreas Icha is responsible for our resort “Alles Auto” (All about Cars will come soon to the english website).
I invited three completely different passengers to my test drive. No. 1 is female, over 50, knows different cars, drives cars almost every day, but is only very interested in the topic – they should work. No. 2 is male, about 30, soaks up everything about cars, like a dry Greek natural sponge. No. 3 is female, counts 90 (!) years, still drives joyfully and safely small cars and is curious about everything new. And there is me – since my childhood infested with the auto virus and a critical observer of the mobility concepts for our future. For the personal opinions of the persons, I will use these Numbers in the editorial as 1 to 4 – that’s easier (for me).
The Tesla Model 3 variants to choose from
The Tesla Model 3 isn’t named like that because of THREE different versions. But there are three models to choose from. You can choose from the following options:
Standard range Plus: Rear-wheel drive and partial premium interior
Maximum range: four-wheel drive and premium interior (our test vehicle)
Performance: four-wheel drive and premium interior
Model 3 does not skimp with power
Model 3 from Tesla doesn’t stint with performance. 460 HP is an announcement for a car of the middle class. The same class is Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, C-Class Benz and exotics, such as Jaguar XE or Renault Talisman. It is not the pure performance that inspires. No, the characteristic of the powerful e-drive. The full torque from the first engine revolution – that’s impressive.
Like pulled toward from an extra strong jar glass rubber, the Tesla slurps the hundred in 4.6 seconds. The top speed of 235 km / h is OK – for Austria at least sufficient. No. 2 very pleased: “Hurry, the next traffic light is red again. Give it a good gas … uh … electricity!”. The joy I like – “whoohoo” and we are gone – but only up to 50 km / h. We are still in the city area.
No. 1 notes that it is not that quiet in the interior. Although no engine hum can be heard (really now?), however, the wind and rolling noise are clearly audible with 80km/h. A well-insulated, modern oil burner is not much louder. So we roll over the Danube river highway in the direction of the airport, where “No. 3” is already waiting for us.
The Model 3 in the rain – all OK thanks to all-wheel drive for optimum traction
Tight front seats
The seats are a functional and pleasant compromise. For No. 2, the front seats have too little lateral support – compared to the sports cups of a Porsche (hm…). No. 1 means: “The upholstery could be a bit softer”. In my humble opinion, seating fits best for everyday life. During civilized driving style, the lateral support is fine, the seats are suitable for about 180 cm tall people and the tight padding helps the occupants to keep in a good mood and lively, even after long distances. A weakness: the headrests are not adjustable in height and inclination.
The front seats are well-sized and comfortable – even on longer trips.
Seat row two for long distances
Sitting back is no punishment inside Model 3 from Tesla. As in the front, the passengers in the second seat row are well and long-distance suitable lifted. Tight cushions ensure a tireless journey.
Modern sedans are generally a bit confusing. Tesla Model 3 is no exception. When parking backward, the camera at the rear and the acoustic beep tone helps anyway. So you’ll squeeze the Tesla into every tight parking space.
You can handle Model 3 almost entirely via the central monitor in the middle of the dashboard – which also impresses unicorn llamas
Operation via the central touch screen
In terms of functionality, Tesla goes its own way. In the interior, the central touch screen is the dominant design and operating element. Beside the screen there are only two steering column levers and two turn & push buttons on the steering wheel – that’s it. The menu navigation on the fixed tablet is very simple if you have seen through it once. That’s all it takes to operate a car. All functions are available here and you will be able to adapt all configurations. You can see that Tesla is a computer with a driving function. Only No. 3 is a little confused. “And how do you take the tablet down from there?” she asks doubtfully.
The clearly drawn and tidy dashboard is a trademark of Tesla
Crisp chassis for sporty driving
Model 3 you can drive crisp and direct because of the relatively high deadweight of almost 1.9 tonnes and the low center of gravity through the batteries let the load fed on the asphalt. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires on the test car are top and fitting very well with the vehicle. The category “sporty sedan” characterizes the driving dynamics best. Curvy overland trails, such as along the Wagram, conjure the Tesla an imaginary grin in the front. He acknowledges tight, fast corners with the intervention of the electronic assistance systems. They down-regulate everything so that a safe course is secured. Up to the limit, the Model 3 is neutral to slightly understeering on the road. The chassis is tight and fits well with the sporty character.
The driving behavior of the Model 3 is quite sporty – with a racing kart you should better not compete
If you drive provident you will rarely need to use the brake pedal. Simply go from the gas or accelerator pedal and the energy will be recovered by recuperation and fed into the battery. If this is not enough, the brake calipers grip the four discs and decelerate the tight two tons until they standstill.
The brakes are sufficiently dimensioned and benefit from recuperation.
Interior and Trunk
The interior of the Tesla Model 3 is simply clear. This was addressed earlier in the context of usability. The materials don’t match the feeling of other premium manufacturers. Front and back, the Model 3 offers enough space. Four people will travel very comfortably by car – five of them fit in anyway.
The (rear) trunk can hold a lot of luggage – even if the loading floor is slightly high due to the batteries.
The trunk volume is sufficient for a mid-size vehicle. The high cargo space floor in the rear cargo space is because of the batteries on the car floor. The access is a big hole – unfortunately, the model 3 has no despite hatchback. In the front Trunk of the car, you will also find a storage space – this is the advantage of the compact electric motors.
All hatches open – access to the rear luggage compartment could be more convenient if it were a tailgate.
Full equipment – all in there
Our test vehicle is equipped with everything that Tesla has to offer – this is called ‘premium interior’. The front seats are 12-way adjustable and heated. The rear seats can be heated. Enjoy listening to music with the premium audio system – 14 speakers plus subwoofer make great sound.
Sunscreen – not the greatest thing since sliced bread
Ambivalent reactions trigger the tinted panoramic glass roof. While No. 2 finds the transparent roof extremely cool, No. 1 is less positive about it. “Because the sun is dazzling. It’s getting extremely hot because of that. Why isn’t there a nice sunshade roller blind? “, so the feedback. So I start to install the not very practical sunscreen. “Well … that’s not the greatest thing, since sliced bread but ok”, notes No. 1 sullen.
The sunshade for the panoramic glass roof is an impractical thing – perhaps Tesla will consider a more comfortable solution
Autopilot – on the way to autonomous driving?
No. 2 nearly can’t wait anymore. He wants to see how the autopilot controls the car. “Come on! Take your hands off the steering wheel! Let the Tesla drive itself! “, It sounds highly motivated from the second row. No. 3, already experienced a lot in her 90 years and would like to spend some more time on this planet, moans: “Does it really have to be that way?!”
Come on – take your hands off!
“Autopilot” sounds more dramatic than it is. The centerpiece is adaptive speed control, which does a pretty good job on the highway. For example, change lane? Yes, it works. However, the system acts so carefully – it needs enough space and no car should be visible from behind. But that raises the question of purpose. If you are no longer able to make a lane change without automatism, then please return your driver’s license.
From the use of the autopilot function in the city Tesla advises, is clear. Don’t do this. – I completely agree. Wrong estimated boundary lines on the road, or just next to it on the sidewalk, triggers sweat attacks. Sudden braking maneuvers, because the system thinks – there is a perceived obstacle – can bring the cars behind you into dangerous situations.
The autopilot is a first step in the direction of autonomous driving – but the way is still very long.
Tesla – Heel! – The blaming “Enhance Summon” feature
The summon feature on the Tesla app seems to make sense to lure the Model 3 out of a tight parking space
There is still the “enhance summon” feature that lures out the Tesla from any parking space as if done by a magic spell. That must be tested on practicality.
Szene: Sloping parker opposite a Greek Restaurant in Korneuburg. The garden is full – about 50 curious heads stretches to the parking spaces and looking forward to a high-tech spectacle.
Model 3 is moving – but short. Connection interrupted – aha. Again. Oh, another piece out of the square. Connection interrupted. Hm … is going again like this several times. Now the Tesla stands across the road and blocks five cars that can’t pass anymore.
We all need to get back into the car quickly – bu speed is relative for a 90-year-old lady. Finally, everyone is inside. But I can’t drive away immediately, because the car rolled straight and not in a curve out of the parking space. So I need to roll back into the parking lot again, let all (now eight) cars pass and then pulling out of the parking slot manually. The mischievous grin of the guests at the Greek restaurant bothers me – I’m just very sensitive.
Safety and Security
Active safety is GREAT on Tesla’s Model 3. Recently, the Model 3 received five stars in a crash test by ÖAMTC / ADAC (see here: https://www.oeamtc.at/tests/crashtest/crashtest-2019-07/tesla-model-3-32606934). Among other things responsible is the high-strength metal structure of the body, all-around airbags and a lot of safety assistance systems.
The high passive safety is arguable by the enormous acceleration potential. In addition, you will find that driving with an electric vehicle is very relaxing and soothing. we need more relaxed motorists in this country!
The female passengers are happy about the high safety standards in Model 3.
Clean and green without emissions
Zero emissions! Of course, it is not and only half the truth. Depending on how the electricity was produced from the charging station, it is clean (renewable energy), dirty (lignite) or questionable (nuclear power). The ecological footprint also includes the production of the batteries. However, I deliberately do not want to continue this discussion here – the top experts in the world have been arguing for years.
Model 3 on the Tesla Supercharger – charging up to 80% battery capacity is relatively fast.
Certainly, the Tesla Model 3 generates no polluting pollutants while driving – which at least contributes to better air in the city.
All sorts of charging cables for all connections can be found in the double floor of the luggage compartment.
The Pricing
If you want to buy a brand new model 3, you have to pay (i Austria in September 2019) at least EUR 46,680. (35.000 USD USA Price List) For that, you get the “Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus”.
The retail price of our test car comes to EUR 64.930, – (Tesla Model 3 maximum range with dual-engine four-wheel drive and some extras). We did not consider the huge savings of Fuel and tax savings and state fundings.

Tesla Model 3 vs. Model S – differences
First of all – the Model 3 is in a different league compared to the model S of Tesla. The big Tesla is longer and offers more space and a plus in travel comfort. The ‘little one’ drives more agile and sporty and therefore feels noticeably more comfortable on winding roads. The Model S performs larger ranges. The interior feels a bit higher in the Model S, but the Model 3 with its minimalist approach – One display that’s it – offers an even more modern ambiance. Pricing of the Model S starts at EUR 87,980, – compared to the EUR 46,680, – the Model 3 entry price (with significantly lower equipment and rear instead of four-wheel drive).

Conclusion of the editor
The Tesla Model 3 fascinates by its agile handling and the sports car-like performance. Due to the four-wheel-drive of the test vehicle, there are hardly any traction problems. In the city, the sedan is sufficiently maneuverable and offers four people and enough space for five people. Lovers of powerful electric cars can’t ignore the Tesla Model 3.

Or rather, a V12 engine crafted from real 18-carat white gold, diamonds, thermoset gold leaf carbon fiber, and two beautiful royal pink amethyst gems. Clearly made for refined tastes (and refined wallets too), the limited edition coffee maker is the contemporary in Super Veloce’s outrageous engine inspired coffee maker arsenal, and to be honest, it outdoes the rest. Writing Desk

The Porsche 911 Writing Desk by using 3 GJB 17 gives you one more motive and possibility to correct those commoners who pronounce it “Porsh” via telling them it is, in fact, “Por-shuh”… Made from original Porsche 911 body parts, coated in Arctic Silver automobile paint, and finished with Custom Made American Walnut attachments that supplement the car’s contours beautifully, the 911 Writing Desk takes the long-lasting car’s rear end, changing its boot hood right into a writing surface that doubles up as a cupboard for storing your stationery (using a spring-loaded hinge that lifts the boot lid up)

Most take a look at the 1964 Porsche 911 and go “Wow, what a conventional”… Designer Minseop Woo looked at the 911 and got inspired to AUTOMOTIVE-INSPIRED PRODUCT DESIGNS furniture! The Stool 911 captures the maximum iconic hood element of the vintage Porsche. With the manner the stool’s front legs arch upwards, mimicking the headlamps of the 911 coupe. When compared in side-view, the info look without a doubt identical. However, one is a classic automobile, and the other is a seating device! The Stool 911 doesn’t fail to affect as a chair either. Connected cars accelerate down data-collection highway
SAN FRANCISCO — That holiday trip over the river and through the woods to grandmother’s house could turn into nice little gift for automakers as they increasingly collect oodles and oodles of data about the driver.
Automakers are collecting valuable pieces of information thanks to the internet connections, cameras and sensors built into most vehicles in recent years. The online access makes it possible for cars to be unlocked remotely if the keys are lost. It’s how safety features can be upgraded wirelessly and maintenance schedules adjusted based on performance.
But these digital peepholes are also offering a windshield-size view of people’s lives. That’s creating the potential for intrusive marketing pitches and government surveillance.
No serious incidents have occurred in the United States, Europe and Japan, but a red flag has already been raised in China, where automakers have been sharing location details of connected cars with the government.
“We are not that far away from when 100 percent of all new cars will come equipped with data modems,” Navigant Research analyst Sam Abuelsamid predicted. “Having the potential to collect more data about people in their cars means there is going to be potential for abuses, too.”
Here are some key questions about the auto industry’s acceleration down the data-collection highway:
Q: What kind of cars collect data?
A: In 2016, about one in every five cars sold globally could be plugged into the internet, according to BI Intelligence. By 2020, about three out of every four cars sold will be online.
So if you are driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla, you probably only have to worry about the tracking and data collection being done by the smartphone resting on the cup holder. But as those older models go to the scrapyard, it will become difficult to avoid a vehicle set up for gathering data that will be sent to automakers.
Q: Which automakers are leading the way in this trend?
A: General Motors accounted for 46 percent of connected-car shipments last year, according to the market research firm Counterpoint. They’re followed by BMW (20 percent), Audi (14 percent) and Mercedes Benz (13 percent). In addition, Tesla’s Model S sold since 2012 all come with connectivity. The firm said the biggest markets for connected car sales last year were China (32 percent), the United States (13 percent), Germany (11 percent) and the United Kingdom (9 percent).
Q: Do I own data that’s collected?
A: Under U.S. law, it’s unclear.
Drivers own the data stored in the “black boxes” that monitor vehicles in a crash. Police and insurers need a driver’s consent — or a court order — to get that data. But there are no laws addressing data collected by automakers through vehicle internet connections.
So far, few automakers will share their data in the United States without the owners’ consent, Abuelsamid said. Twenty companies — including GM, Toyota, Ford, Hyundai and Mercedes-Benz — signed a voluntary agreement in 2014 to get permission before sharing a driver’s location, health or behavior with third parties. The agreement doesn’t require approval from drivers for data to be shared with emergency workers or for internal research.
One of the most notable exceptions is electric car maker Tesla Motors, which has released data publicly to reveal — sometimes within hours of a crash — how fast a driver was traveling and whether the company’s semi-autonomous Autopilot system was engaged after a collision.
Q: In what ways are automakers passing along data when drivers allow it to be shared?
A: They’re giving the data to insurers to determine the premiums that should be charged, if a driver consents. This could be good if data indicates drivers are cautious, adhere to speed limits and seldom log lots of miles. But insurance premiums could jump for drivers who are prone to speeding or frequent hard braking — all of which could be interpreted as raising the risks for accidents. Insurers would also know whether your seat belt is fastened.
Q: Can I stop an automaker from collecting my data?
A: Most automakers let owners decline, or opt out of, data collection, but that’s usually buried in the fine print. Otherwise, permission is assumed. Also, unlike smartphones, some data collection may be required to ensure that cars operate safely and can receive essential software updates. That’s especially true as more vehicles come with features such as semi-autonomous driving. And it could be necessary in order to have self-driving vehicles.
Q: Should I be worried about automakers using my data in ways that are annoying or compromise my privacy?
A: Probably, if what has happened with smartphones is a reliable gauge.
As automakers collect more data about drivers, they’re more likely to look for ways to profit. The built-in display screens and mapping software would seem to be ideal spots for posting advertisements, similar to what Google, Facebook, Amazon and many other internet companies already do.
The business consultancy McKinsey has estimated automotive data could be worth $450 billion to $750 billion worldwide by 2030. Ford Motor CEO Jim Hackett may have foreshadowed what’s coming as he boasted in a recent interview about how much the automaker already knows about its customers who get their loans through its financial services division. All the lending information has allowed Ford to learn how much money people, where they live, where they live and whether they are married.
“We’ve never ever been challenged on how we use that,” Hackett told a Freakonomics podcast last month.

2019 New and Future Cars
To hear some tell it, we’ll soon reflect on the past several years and the near future as the final halcyon days of machines made to be driven. The feedback we receive from you, our readers and fellow gearheads, along with a growing mainstream global narrative, illustrates an increasingly pessimistic view of automotive inevitability: a world dominated by urban transportation pods, ride-sharing programs, and of course the darkest cloud looming above the enthusiast community—soulless autonomous cars that might drive us to our destinations perfectly well but with nary a hint of the passion that binds millions of like-minded members of the car community together. Opinions, even well-educated ones, are all over the map when it comes to predicting the arrival of this Orwellian existence, but thankfully there are still far more than a handful of new and future cars to put your mind at ease.
This year we begin our New and Future Cars feature with seven hyper performers because, well, #NOBORINGCARS. From here, over the next few weeks, we will introduce you to and update you on what we believe are the most interesting and significant vehicles on the near horizon. The best news of all: Drivers will need to keep their eyes on the road and their hands and feet on the controls of each and every one of them.
McLaren Senna
“The Senna is such a whirlwind of g forces, so Krakatoa-like in its speed and braking power, in only a lap or two it could easily reduce a NASA astronaut to a trembling, babbling impersonation of Linda Blair.” That’s what our Arthur St. Antoine said recently after driving the Senna for several laps around the U.K.’s Silverstone Circuit—and when you look at the hardware McLaren blessed the Senna with, you know he was pedaling a savagely devastating car and not peddling hyperbole. Do not mistake the Senna for an upgraded 720S: The cars share some basic hardware, but this is an entirely new automobile—the pinnacle of McLaren’s Ultimate Series range. Legal for street use and limited to 500 copies, the Senna uses the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 found in the 720S, but improvements bump output to 789 hp and 590 lb-ft. A slightly reworked seven-speed dual-clutch paddle shifter carries over. Top speed is 211 mph, but that’s not what this carbon-fiber McLaren, named for late three-time Formula 1 champ Ayrton Senna, is about. With its active aerodynamics, almost 1,800 pounds of downforce, and 2,900-pound curb weight, track-day lap records should be very afraid. After driving it, we know the F1 legend would be proud of his namesake. And if, somehow, it’s still not enough for you, McLaren plans to build 75 track-only Senna GTRs that will lap even quicker, priced at about $1.4 million each. Not interested in the Senna, whose looks might not be everyone’s cup of racing fuel? By year’s end we expect to see McLaren finally unveil the long-talked-about 243-mph hybrid-powered BP23 three-seater. Think of it as the modern follow-up to its legendary F1 supercar of the ’90s. It should land late this year.
On sale: Sold out (delivery late 2018) Base price: $958,966
Dallara Stradale
Sure, Ferrari and McLaren are famous race teams that also build some of the world’s best performance cars, but what enthusiast doesn’t want a car from a company still known mostly for building top-level dedicated racing chassis such as IndyCar’s present-day IR-18? That’s where Italian constructor Dallara comes in with its Stradale, the first road car to bear its name. This is a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis covered in carbon bodywork, and one available in a doorless configuration (among others)—you don’t want to add weight while adversely affecting aerodynamics, do you? No, you don’t. And speaking of aero, up to 1,800 pounds and change of downforce mean cornering forces can exceed 2 g, with the approximately 1,900-pound (dry weight) Stradale also boasting 395 hp and 369 lb-ft from its 2.3-liter Ford EcoBoost four-cylinder, channeled through either a six-speed manual or single-clutch automatic transmission; that should be good for 0-60 mph in the low 3-second range. The bad news: Dallara didn’t want to float the tens of millions it would have cost to certify the Stradale for sale in the U.S.
On sale: Now (not in U.S.) Base price: $182,000 (est)
Brabham BT62
The past year or so has seen more than its share of new mid-engine hypercars, including Mercedes-AMG’s Project One and Aston Martin’s Valkyrie, and there are plenty more in the pipeline. From ex-Formula 1 driver and Le Mans winner David Brabham’s Brabham Automotive comes the carbon-fiber-bodied BT62, a track-day kraken inspired by his famous late father Jack’s third F1 championship, in 1966—the only F1 title won by a competitor while driving a car of his construction. The BT62 gets a six-speed sequential gearbox and a 5.4-liter naturally aspirated V-8 from another maker (Brabham hasn’t identified it), which Brabham pumps up to send 700 hp and 492 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. Handling should be off the leash thanks to Michelin slick tires, a dry weight of 2,143 pounds, and an alleged maximum downforce figure of more than 2,600 pounds. Brabham plans to build 70 examples for the 70th anniversary of Jack’s first race, with the initial 35 copies featuring liveries honoring the 35 Grand Prix wins achieved by Brabham race cars. Driver coaching is part of the buyer’s package—a good thing, too, since traction control is the BT62’s only “driver aid.” The car’s name is an extension of the BT60B designation given to Brabham’s final Grand Prix car, in 1992.
On sale: Now (delivery late 2018) Base price: $1.4 million (est)
Fittipaldi EF7
Add the name Fittipaldi to the others steeped in racing tradition that now seek to stick a Nomex-covered toe into the high-performance road-car arena. Two-time Formula 1 champion, two-time Indianapolis 500 winner, and one-time IndyCar champion Emerson Fittipaldi has long dreamed of building a car bearing his name, and the EF7 he unveiled at the 2017 Geneva auto show is the result. Developed in conjunction with Pininfarina and racing-centric German engineering company HWA, which will build the cars, Fittipaldi Motors’ shark-styled track-day toy will be crafted to the tune of 39 examples, the number you get when totaling Emmo’s F1 and IndyCar wins and championships. No surprise, it features a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis and carbon body panels, with weight targeted to come in at less than 2,300 pounds. Power comes from a 4.8-liter naturally aspirated V-8 making 600 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque, with a racy 9,000-rpm redline; 0-60 mph should happen in less than 3 seconds. Like a purpose-built race car, the six-speed sequential gearbox is a stressed part of the chassis. Similar to the Brabham BT62, buyers will get professional instruction—in this case from Fittipaldi himself. A street-legal version could be in the offing down the road once all track-spec cars are delivered.
On sale: Now Base price: $1.5 million (est)
Hennessey Venom F5
Building off the success of the tremendously fast Venom GT that claimed the production car speed record five years ago (though Bugatti would quarrel with that), the forthcoming Venom F5 is the Texas performance peddler’s second hypercar. Compared to the Lotus-based Venom GT, the F5 is a ground-up, clean-sheet design with a bespoke chassis. A unique 8.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 spits out what Hennessey claims to be 1,600 hp and 1,300 lb-ft, managed by either a seven-speed single-clutch semi-automatic or six-speed manual transmission. For the very brave (or the very stupid), the F5 will reportedly top out at 301 mph.
On sale: 2019 Base price: $1.6 million (est)
Ruf SCR
You can be forgiven for thinking this is Ruf’s latest package for the Porsche 911 at first glance. Despite its very, very Porsche-esque silhouette, the SCR is the second car Ruf has built from the chassis up. As expected of Ruf, the SCR is incredibly high-tech, using a carbon-fiber monocoque and integrated rollcage adorned with a pushrod suspension and carbon-fiber body panels. It’s fast, too—a Ruf-designed 4.0-liter water-cooled flat-six sends 503 hp and 347 lb-ft to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. All this power pushes just 2,755 pounds, allowing those with access to the autobahn to touch 199 mph.
On sale: 2019 (est) Base price: $800,000 (est)
Pininfarina H2 Speed
With the traditional role of the coachbuilder and external design house all but disappearing in the face of in-house operations, legendary Italian studio and longtime Ferrari partner Pininfarina has been increasingly striking out on its own, most recently with a lean, green hypercar known as the H2. In place of a massive turbocharged V-8 or V-12, the H2 uses a set of four “race-spec” electric motors outputting a combined 643 hp at 13,000 rpm, fed by a 250-kWh hydrogen fuel cell system. Pininfarina says the H2 will hit 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and top out at 186 mph. Just 12 will be made, restricted to use at a few track days hosted by Pininfarina around the world
