Vandalised billboard in Sydney of the United Australia Party, a minor right-wing party controlled by mining billionaire Clive Palmer.
Palmer pumps tens of millions of dollars into advertising his party, paying for billboards all over the country. The party stands little chance of actually getting any candidates elected, but that isn't really the point anyway. The true purpose of the party is to funnel voting preferences to the ruling conservative Liberal Party.

Happy kicking-the-Liberals-out-of-government day to all Australians!
Nice to see an uptick in progressive female members being elected to the lower house, particularly proud of my electorate, which has been a safe Liberal seat for decades, finally electing someone who cares about climate change and equality.
It's a breath of fresh air to see Australians push for progressive change.
Here's to bullying our new government!!! (I'm looking at you Albo, just because we voted Scomo out doesn't mean we like you 💖)

Made a 2022 Australian Federal Election bingo scorecard for tonight in about 10 minutes. My fridge is stocked with beer and I am ready to absolutely lose it to Anthony Green being quietly exuberant on ABC

Australian Election Reveals the Weakness of ‘Centrist Politics’
Australian Election Reveals the Weakness of ‘Centrist Politics’
Commentary The Australian federal election has so far demonstrated just how much the political centre is weakening as voters shift further right and left. It is all part of a worldwide trend that has seen growing discontent at the status quo from voters in the United States, United Kingdom, France, and Canada. At the heart of this growing phenomenon have been several interconnected shifts. First,…

Election day in Australia. Voting is just about to close. Now to just sit and worry for the next several hours to see what direction the nation's future is headed

It's election day! The Federal Election comes around every three years in Australia. Voting is compulsory and prevents extreme polarisation. Local born & bred Inner West boy and leader of the Australian Labor Party, Anthony "Albo" Albanese, is expected to be elected as Australia's next leader by the 17.3M folks across the country who have the vote and must use it in this one. He'd be the first Prime Minister ever to hail from this little part of Sydney. With the independent Australian Electoral Commission running the vote, the result is never disputed, ever. Go Albo. Go you good thing! Marrickville and Leichhardt.
