Alright, Friday hast arrived, the day has come, and to celebrate it what better than a chapter of our favorite bone-breaking hero broccoli, right? Right! Last time there was the disturbing but somehow not surprising revelation that Shigaraki is going to become the ultimate Nomu, and in four months he’s gonna fuck shit up. Great, wonderful, I feel like this was also a reason why everybody wanted me to read Vigilantes, it all makes sense when I remember what happened there. But anyway, let’s get started, with Chapter 246: Message

And that’s the end of the chapter, and the end of the volume apparently. My, what a trip, there was just a one year gap between starting the volume and actually finishing lmao

but anyway, the chapter at hand. Boy did it had a lot going on. The talk between the doctor and Shigaraki at the beginning was a goldmine, my god there was so much info that was implied there, so many theories that we can infer from that interaction, but we also did get some info that was pretty much confirmed: All for One started the Nomu project as a way to study quirk evolution since soon it would even be beyond his own control the powers that would arise, and that he intends for Shigaraki to continue his legacy and succeed where he failed, he shall be the one to bring together All for One and One for All, he shall be the end of it all.

Like I always imagined... And like I was saying for a long time, that will entail getting All for One out of Tartarus. Four months from now, the messiah shall walk the earth, free once again.

4 months

And the kids are springing into action, unknowingly getting ready for a war from which not everyone will come back from. They are facing the calm before the storm, and when the storm hits, nothing will be left standing.

Alright, and we’re out of that and back to Endeavor still cracking the code. Alright, okay, they already dropped some tsar bomb-levels of fuckery on us, now they are just gonna sit back and smirk as we run around in circles, panicked.

Meanwhile, Hawks is still trying to get something else, some clue, anything that will help him, but it seems like it’s all quiet. The silence has begun for the next four months, and then, the end.

Alright, the doctor is pleased with what he heard, the procedure shall take place. And now we’ll get a bit more lore... which already left me worried. Why would All for One even need a procedure to get other quirks? He already has that power, why he needed a doctor to Nomu-fy himself? What? Oh, this is going to get worrisome...

Yeah, powers intermingled and thus started to mutate, evolve, generations later the power started to get more and more advanced than ever before... And that’s why AfO got him? To study that evolution through the use of trigger, seeing how quirks would evolve if they were pushed to their limits? At least that's a bit of what we can gather from his operations in Vigilantes

Oh, he was the one to propose the concept of the quirk singularity? That’s interesting.

And I think I’m starting to get where this is going... As the quirks started to get more and more powerful, AfO feared that soon he would be unable to control them, so he got this doctor to study their evolution by mixing and pushing quirks to their maximum through the use of trigger, it just so happened that the end result was a good bio-engineered soldier. And now, the same process can be used to their benefit... All of the strengths, none of the weakness, the process has been perfected.

Btw, I don't know if anyone mentioned this but the MHA character guide (Ultra Analysis) got an official English release a few months ago, it covers up through the end of Volume 24 (Chapter 235) so it was already nearly 100 chapters behind when it got an English release, but if you can get your hands on it you should be able to read through the whole thing without any worry of spoilers. It has a lot of really interesting supplemental info.

Oh I didn't knew that- in fact I don't think my sister knew about that, as she never mentioned it before. Weird. Well, I'm intrigued about it, I'll tell you that

Let's see, the first chapter of the volume was chapter 236, Tenko Shimura: Origin, Part 2, which we read on Sep 12th, 2020, as you can see here. Which means that we started the arc almost two years ago. Then we stopped to shift to vigilantes on chapter 240: Power, which was on Oct 1st, 2020, as you can see here, and then we returned from Vigilantes on Chapter 241: Do that Interview! on Dec 9th, 2021, as you can see here, and in fact I even mentioned that it was over a year of hiatus reading Vigilantes on that chapter lol

As we mentioned before, Hawks did it all on purpose, making it seem like the kids weren’t all that hot shit, all so they would be underestimated and the meta army wouldn’t care bout them, either for recruiting or eliminating them.
