This year, TVS launched the Zest 110. Reckoned as a BS6-compliant two-wheeler, this scooter is available in six colours, including yellow, blue, purple, black, red, and turquoise blue.

The Zest 110 comes with a storage capacity of 19 litres. It has a sleek design that people love. The main features of this model include textured floorboard, anti-skid suspension system, front telescopic suspension, parking brake, and more.  

This two-wheeler has a four-stroke engine with a single cylinder. The scooter is capable of a maximum power of 7.7 BHP. The top torque of this scooter stands at 8.8 Nm.

Suzuki Burgman Street

The Suzuki Burgman Street is one of the latest models released by Suzuki.

This model has a flexible foot position that senior citizens will love. It helps the senior citizens to ride the scooter conveniently. The key features of this scooter include 2-litre glovebox, 21.5-litre storage capacity, aluminium pillion footrest, among other features.

This model also comes with a DC socket that you can use to charge your smartphone. It has a 4-stroke, air-cooled 125 CC engine. The maximum power output of this model is 8.5 BHP. It is capable of a maximum torque of 10 Nm.

The Suzuki Burgman Street has a CVT unit that handles transmission.

While two-wheelers are a convenient and easy mode of transport, senior citizens should be mindful of a few basic things for their safety.

For instance, it is important to maintain a safe distance from other vehicles on the road. Do not try to overtake a vehicle if there is not enough space. You should always be cautious and follow all traffic rules. The traffic rules are meant for our safety. Do not suddenly brake your bike or make a sudden turn without indicating. Remember that a vehicle does not stop as soon as a brake is pressed. Give your vehicle some time before it comes to a halt. Also, carry all important documents like driving license, registration copy and insurance papers of the vehicle with you. Even for an old vehicle, don’t forget to renew two-wheeler insurance to avoid a policy lapse.

The currently best-selling Honda Activa models like Activa 5G are all powered by carbureted BS4 engine. India migrated to BS4 standard engine in April 2017 discontinuing the BS3 tech in order to reduce the carbon emissions.

    As per the Govt order, every manufacturer is required to switch to BS6 engine standard which specifies more stricter emission norms starting from April 2020 next year. Using FI ( Fuel Injected) engine will significantly improve the mileage of the bike as this tech will help burn the fuel to the fullest electronically. The 6th generation updated Honda Activa will be further saving your cost on fuel by 10% as the latest tech can provide upto 65-70Kmpl of mileage, Thanks to BS6 compliant fuel injected engine.

While we speculated that the upcoming Honda Activa 6G could be an electric scooter, Honda could be holding on that product till the electric charging infrastructure improves in India. With this new development, it is pretty safe to say the next generation Honda Activa 6G shall continue to run on petrol but on more advanced engine tech like FI, BS6 etc.

There is no specific launch date issued for Honda Activa FI model yet, keeping the Govt regulations in mind, Honda 2 Wheelers will be launching the fuel-efficient, fuel-injected engine powered Honda Activa 6G in 2020.
