This is a long reply and some spoilers. Bear with me XD

This show is the best. I learned a lot about Filipino mythological creatures like tikbalang, wind people, aswangs etc. Very different from what I know here which is rooted in Malay folklore. The similarities I find are manananggal and jiangshi.

We call it penanggal here and for people from Sabah (me), we call it balan-balan. Can't even said it out loud. We don't want her to find us don't we?

The most interesting part is manananggal have wings while balan2 doesn't. I thought she's an aswang in the show lol. But the Wikipedia said, she's technically an aswang too. "shrugs shoulders"

Now about jiangshi. I'm gonna assume she is because in the last episode she looks like one.

I think the most similar ghost to jiangshi is pocong. Most people I know agreed that's the scariest. That thing is fast and if you could catch it, it can grants you all the riches you wanted. That's what they told me anyway. Yet again, we're too scared to said it out loud. We call it "gula-gula" after that famous White Rabbit candy. Haha..

Really excited about jiangshi tho. She seems to have a beef with Alex. So I expect there will be another epic fight scene.

I love Crispin and Basilio too. Calling Alex "Bossing" really reminds me of a Sabahan slang of "bossku". It's adorable, you can tell they are close with each other. And yes, they're very fun to watch. They're good looking, energetic, hilarious and loving too.

And loyal. Very loyal. Which makes me love them more.

I love Alex too and it's hard for me to know which is my favorite right now because she's awesome.

From a twitter thread I read, people said she's both a Lakan and a Baybalan which made this show very important. I don't know about the Lakan title but I'm gonna assume from the thread I read that she's in fact royalty.

The baybalan one I could relate to another culture I know. For the Kadazan-Dusuns, we have a priestess called bobohizan/bobolian. It's a very feminine role, which is also the same for the baybalans.

Prima Guerra Mondiale. Uomini, Soldati, Eroi. Gli Eugubini in guerra sul Col di Lana e la "Festa dei Ceri"

In questa straordinaria Foto, Archivio Storico Rinaldo Chelli, la Festa dei Ceri organizzata durante la Grande Guerra, sul Col di Lana, dai Soldati Eugubini il 15 Maggio 1917

Non tutti sanno che... sul Col di Lana i nostri soldati, durante la Grande Guerra, decisero di celebrare la Festa dei Ceri.

La cosa fu decisa con diversi mesi di anticipo. I soldati eugubini ebbero l'aiuto del Capitano Rinaldo Chelli (autore della foto giunte pubblucata) e dell'alto comando militare, pertanto fu possibile costruire appositamente tre Ceri con relative barelle e statue dei Santi.

I Soldati Eugubini riuscirono davvero a coinvolgere tutti: la Festa dei Ceri, in quel luogo di sangue, divenne la festa e l'esaltazione della vita!

Qualche nome di quei eroi "ceraioli": Filadelfo Agostinucci (1° Capitano dei Ceri), Salvatore Albini, Angelo Camponovo, Alessandro Farneti, Ettore Ferranti, Basilio Grasselli, Guido Maranghi, Raffaele Mazzacrelli, Giulio Menichetti, Giovanni Panfili, Settimio Rosati, David Tasso, Adolfo Vispi e tutti gli altri eugubini che formavano il 51° fanteria, ma non solo: di certo vi fu la partecipazione del 52° ed anche della brigata "Regio", infatti l'Agostinucci apparteneva al 45° Rgt Fanteria.

Quel 15 maggio 1917 fu un giorno piovoso, ma il programma della festa, perfettamente identico a quello solito, si svolse regolarmente con la S. Messa alle 9.00, l'Alzata dei Ceri alle 12.00 e la Corsa alle 17.00. Fu allora che, come scrive Gerardo Dottori: "... un Cappellano benedisse Ceri e Ceraioli: i quali in grigio-verde, con un fazzoletto rosso al collo e al canto della famosa marcia dei ceraioli, issarono le tre grandi "macchine" e si slanciarono su per l'erta mulattiera del Col di Lana che conduce a Salesei... tutti si slanciarono all'inseguimento dei "matti di Gubbio"... e ognuno voleva raggiungere uno dei Ceri per poter dare il cambio, la "spallata" ai portatori e tutti erano pervasi da una commozione profonda che provocava le lacrime,... da un entusiasmo travolgente per cui tutti correvano su per la faticosa via a zig-zag che in venti minuti fu superata e il Cero del Santo protettore di Gubbio, S. Ubaldo, toccò la piccola spianata della baracca blindata dove risiedeva il comando del 51° fanteria. Fu un vero assalto - incruento - al Col di Lana, al quale però nessuno ostacolo, anche cruento, avrebbe potuto resistere tanto fu l'entusiasmo che si propagò rapidamente a tutti i convenuti."

Il rito fu compiuto, la tradizione rispettata! Certo non fu come arrivare alla Basilica di S. Ubaldo a Gubbio, in cima al monte Ingino, per depositare i Ceri dinanzi il sacro corpo del Protettore, ma c'è da giurare che ognuno di quei grandi idealmente vi giunse con tutto il proprio cuore!
