Just finished BG’s book and I genuinely do not get why people hate so hard on her. She has survived so much just for players she paved a way for to let their boyfriends make dumb jokes about her? It feels like every guy I know has made that stupid “shooter for big” joke and I’m sick of it. How can anyone hear what she went through and not root for her?? So Jada is still on my bad side.
YOU TOO KIM MULKEY OMFG
She was her COACH BG won her a championship and she wouldn’t even comment on her detainment or reach out after she got home?? Kim Mulkey they could never ever make me like you.

nalyssa x reader where reader meets her friends for the first time
For The First Time (Nalyssa Smith x OC)
this one’s a little short, idk how i feel about it, give feedback if you’d like🤞🏾🤞🏾
———
You and Nalyssa have been dating for a few months now, and everything has been going great. You’ve met her family and she’s met yours, but today is a new milestone: meeting her friends. Nalyssa is hosting a small get-together at her place, and you’re a mix of nervous and excited.
“Relax, D” Nalyssa says, squeezing your hand as you both stand in her kitchen preparing snacks. “They’re going to love you.”
You take a deep breath and nod. “I just wanna make a good impression. These are your friends.”
Nalyssa smiles, her eyes full of reassurance. “And you’re my girl. They’ll see how amazing you are.”
The doorbell rings, and your heart skips a beat. Nalyssa gives your hand one last squeeze before heading to the door. You hear her greet her friends with laughter and hugs, and you take another deep breath, trying to calm your nerves.
“D, come here babe” Nalyssa calls out, her voice full of excitement.
You walk into the living room, a friendly smile on your face. Nalyssa’s friends are gathered around, all wearing welcoming expressions.
“Everyone, this is Dalia,” Nalyssa introduces you with pride in her voice. “Dalia, this is Kelsey, Aaliyah, and Victaria.”
They all greet you warmly, and you feel a wave of relief wash over you. Kelsey steps forward first, extending a hand. “Nice to meet you, Dalia. Nalyssa’s told us so much about you.”
“Good things, I hope,” you reply with a nervous laugh, shaking her hand.
“Only the best,” Kelsey says with a grin.
Tiffany nudges her playfully. “Yeah, she never stops talking about you. It’s cute, really.”
You feel your cheeks heat up and glance at Nalyssa, who’s smiling at you with that familiar warmth in her eyes. “She’s exaggerating,” Nalyssa says with a laugh. “But yeah, I talk about you.. a little more than I should”
Aaliyah and Myisha introduce themselves next, both of them equally friendly and welcoming. Before long, you find yourself relaxing, joining in the conversations and laughter.
As the evening progresses, you start to feel more at ease. Nalyssa’s friends are funny, kind, and easy to talk to. They share stories about their time together, making you laugh and feel like part of the group.
At one point, Kelsey leans over to you and says, “You know, Nalyssa’s been really happy since you two started dating. It’s great to see.”
You smile, glancing over at Nalyssa, who’s deep in conversation with Tiffany. “She makes me really happy too.”
By the time the night winds down, you feel like you’ve known Nalyssa’s friends for much longer than just a few hours. As you help Nalyssa clean up after everyone leaves, you can’t help but feel grateful for how the evening turned out.
“I told you they’d love you,” Nalyssa says, nudging you playfully with her shoulder.
You smile, feeling a warm sense of belonging. “Yeah, you were right. They’re great.”
Nalyssa pulls you into a hug, her arms wrapping around your waist tightly. You hug her back, feeling content and happy.

hi , i rly wanna get into wbb (ive followed bueckers casually for a couple yrs) n the wnba, wheres a good place to start? when i look up wbb on yt alot of the 'introductory' videos have heavyyyy undertones of misogyny and racism. are there archives of games/websites to learn abt key figures in wbb beyond moore, clark, reese etc? (when i got into f1 archives were really helpful) love ur blog :)
honestly i wouldn’t know bc the way i got into it was i just grew up watching the men’s game and then when i was younger uconn was just winning like… a LOT. like ALL the time. and i sort of just fell in love with the program and started watching the women’s game a lot.
i will say that i prefer to watch female commentators and analysts when it comes to these games and the women’s game as a whole - obviously chiney and andraya, but also malika andrews, and i used to love rewatching when robin roberts was doing it as well. i know steph white, christy winters-scott, even rebecca lobo do a lot of games, and i always love listening to that if you kind of wanna get away from all the misogyny.
i think if you just wanna watch solid fuckin basketball, you can look at uconn 2000-2004 or 2012-2016, you can look at notre dame like 2017-2019, or even the early 2010s (take that with a grain of salt), tennessee in like 2007-2008, south carolina in 2018 and the ben a couple of years ago, also baylor in 2019 and 2012. all really strong programs, sent superstars to the league, and won a fair amount of championships.
i think what happened for me was sort of after i fell in love with uconn, i started getting really invested in the players. you don’t grow up watching basketball and not hearing about sue bird and diana taurasi, so they were both some of my favorites to go back and watch their games. i also loved maya moore, i loved sylvia fowles, really that whole 2017 era lynx team. skylar diggins was one of my favorites, i loved bg, too - i think it’s really just finding a way to enjoy the game while tuning out all the bullshit. at the end of the day, these women play incredible basketball, and when you focus on that, the rest of it becomes pretty unimportant.

The only thing I got from this article is that I want to see LSU vs. Maryland as soon as possible.
Also, there's more to dislike about Mulkey than whatever is going on (or not going on, as the case may be) in her relationship with BG.
Her basketball is undeniable, but the coaching landscape is filled with elite assholes at the best-performing programs, men's or women's.

Hi
Could you write a Nalyssa fic where the oc is a medical staff at Indiana and she very professional and rejects Nalyssa but she doesn't give up and eventually she get oc to agree to date her or go out. And maybe like the other girls in the team ship them and oc get shy about it.
Persistent (Nalyssa Smith x OC)
hope you guys like this one! i’m not too confident abt it but🙌🏾 give feedback if you’d like
———
Working as a medical staff member for the Indiana Fever is your dream job. You’ve always loved basketball, and getting to help the players stay in peak condition is something you take great pride in. You keep it professional, never crossing the lines between personal and professional relationships. But lately, one of the players has been making that a bit of a challenge.
Nalyssa, the forward with a smile that could light up a room, has been unusually persistent. It started with casual conversations during her routine check-ups and has gradually evolved into something more. She’s asked you out multiple times, but you’ve always turned her down politely.
“Nalyssa, we can’t. It’s against the rules,” you say for what feels like the hundredth time as she leans against the treatment table after a particularly grueling practice session.
She grins, undeterred. “Rules are meant to be broken, Lia.”
You shake your head, focusing on wrapping her ankle. “Not these ones. I like my job.”
“Just one date?” she presses, her tone playful but serious.
You finish wrapping her ankle and step back, trying to maintain a professional distance. “I appreciate the offer, but my answer is still no.”
Nalyssa’s persistence doesn’t go unnoticed by the rest of the team. You catch them giving each other knowing looks and whispering whenever you and Nalyssa are in the same room. You do your best to ignore it, but it’s hard not to feel a bit self-conscious.
One afternoon, after another practice, you’re in the locker room organizing medical supplies when you hear a group of the players giggling. You glance up and see them watching you with amused expressions.
“What’s so funny?” you ask, trying to sound nonchalant.
“Oh, nothing,” Kelsey says, her eyes twinkling with mischief. “Just thinking about how cute you and Nalyssa would be together.”
Your face heats up, and you look away, fumbling with a roll of tape. “We’re just friends,” you mumble, knowing how unconvincing you sound.
“Sure, Lia,” Lexie teases. “And I’m the Queen of England.”
You’re about to respond when Nalyssa walks in, her usual confident smile in place. “What are y’all talking about?”
“Just discussing how Lia should finally say yes to you,” Tiffany says with a grin.
Nalyssa’s eyes lock onto yours, and you feel your heart skip a beat. “Is that so?” she asks, taking a step closer.
You swallow hard, trying to keep your composure. “I... I need to finish up here,” you say, turning back to the supplies.
Later that evening, as you’re leaving the facility, you find Nalyssa waiting for you by the door. She looks more serious than usual, and you feel a pang of guilt for continuously rejecting her.
“Lia,” she starts, “I won’t ask again, promise. Just hear me out, yeah? You. Me. Sushi place around the block, we don’t even have to call it a date. Just spend some extra time with me outside of work.”
You bite your lip, torn between your feelings and your responsibilities. After a long moment, you finally nod. “Okay, I’ll take you up on that”
Nalyssa’s face lights up with a smile that makes your heart flutter. “Deal. How about tomorrow night?”
You nod again, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. “Tomorrow night it is.”

UConn basketball schedule 2024-25: Baylor, Gonzaga among Huskies' top nonconference games
UConn begins its pursuit of a third consecutive NCAA Tournament championship when it opens the 2024-25 season on Nov. 6 at home against Sacred Heart. The Huskies face New Hampshire, Le Moyne, and Texas A&M-Commerce before heading to Hawaii for the Maui Invitational. The Huskies will open that tournament against Memphis and, if the stars align, could face Michigan State in the following round. The…
