they made a final four last year with 8 players dude. they did that with ONE consistent big on the floor, with their star player coming back from an injury, 4 of the ppl geno played being FRESHMEN.

every time like “uconn is not good enough”. and then- what? second best team efficiency in the league? 5th best ATR in the country on more assists than everyone ranked above them? 4th most assists in the country? y’all actually need to fuck all the way out of here!

I hope yall maintain your happiness when paige leaves uconn without a championship because she doesn't have a championship caliber team around her. Beers could have made uconn a championship contender, now uconn will be lucky if they can make a final four. Uconn is a young and inexperienced team, which is not reciepe for success. Uconn is not good enough to beat top teams.

dude. i'm far from a basketball expert but raegan beers of all people was not going to automatically make uconn a "championship caliber team". they're gonna have a healthy aubrey, azzi, jana, and paige, 3 top recruits from the class of 2024, an experienced guard in kaitlyn chen, and multiple players who were thrown into the starting lineup and have already gained experience. even without most of those pieces, they were still able to go undefeated in big east (first time since 2020-2021 and WITH SEVEN HEALTHY PLAYERS in the tourney final) AND GOT TO A FINAL FOUR.

and idc if someone's in the portal with 20 points and rebounds per game, if their values very clearly don't align with a group that has people of diverse identities, then it's never working out, period (and based on how fast they're unfollowing her compared to other potential recruits like kiki, i think they're aware of that too). it was far from a pretty season, and i know that the team needs someone with height, but i don't know wtf you're talking about.

I do agree with that anon that Azzi will likely be cleared by Sept/Oct. I really do wonder though how much more time she takes after that before she comes back.

I know P really took her time and obviously that’s worked out well and I feel Azzi needs to do the same especially given her history with injuries and acls in particular. But also, like you referred to, P did have the benefit of being cleared in August which gave her plenty of time to get back into basketball shape and ease herself back in before the season started.

I just think with Azzi, she’ll probs be caught between wanting to take her time but also if she feels good and she’s got the medical clearance, she’ll be itching to get back out there. Anyway, I trust her to make the best decision for her and I’m sure she’ll be looking at what P did for her rehab and how well that’s worked out for P so hopefully she does the same.

Of course I want to see her out there asap but I also want this to be her last injury so yeah either way, i feel like i’ll be holding my breath for at least that first month she’s back on court and just hope for the best for her 🙏
