I got a bear paw succulent! Surprisingly the hardware store had a larger variety of succulents than the flower stores I've been to! I'm so glad I was able to get a bear paw :)) it's so cute

Apparently a lot of people have more trouble with growing Bear-Paw succulents than I thought, so I'm going to make a little care method post :3
First off; these guys want lots of bright light, and I tend to keep a lot of my plants under two 19Watt grow lights (:
I also use a potting medium consisting of mostly sand, peat, and coco fibre, with a small amount of tropical plant potting mix. You want the soil to drain well enough when you water it, but still retain quite a bit of moisture c:
I find that they prefer the soil to stay slightly damp. Watering them about one-two times a week during the winter, and once a week in the summer tends to keep them happy (:
They need drainage holes in their pot!! The roots don't want to be entirely wet!
When repotting them, the new pot can't be too much bigger than the old one.
Annnnndddd, I think that's all! Hope this helps!! :D

And this is why I save nursery pots. I didn’t expect the bear paw succulent to arrive bare root. But it’s doing better today and I planted it. The bottom leaves have quite a bit of rot, and I won’t be surprised if they drop. But still, I hope this little plant can be saved.

My Bear-Paw succulent is turning into a little tree!!! :D
Three years ago it used to be a single tiny stem with leaves, and it's still insane to me how much it's grown in that time!!
My baby's growing up 🥺❤️

Bear Paw Succulent - Little Rain Oracle
The Bear Paw is a succulent species native to South Africa and quite rare. Bear Paw plant gets its name because of its sharp teeth-like edges adorned around the fuzzy oval leaves. Within the Bear Paw family, you'll find various subspecies, including the Cotyledon tomentose, which features deep orange or red flowers. It might look pretty, but it could turn out sinister for livestock or even humans if consumed. The plant can cause instant death in cattle and even lead to paralysis or cardiac failure.
The Bear Paw brings joy and whimsy to all that see it, so this card embodies that spirit and radiates happiness and success.

Anelsonia Eurycarpa, also called the “Bear’s Paw,” is a rare and unusual succulent belonging to the southwestern United States. It belongs to the cactus household and is understood for its distinct, furry-looking pads that resemble the paws of a bear. The plant has small, spiky thorns and produces gorgeous purple flowers in the summertime.
