Dragon Gate Dangerous Gate 2017 Review
Gamma & Syachihoko BOY vs. Hyo Watanabe & Shun Skywalker - This opener veteran role is perfect for Gamma. He'll never light your world on fire but he's very solid in everything he does. He made Shun look REALLY good here and Shun getting the win was a nice surprise for both myself and the crowd. A result like that is something that shows the crowd you're not in for the same 'ol vet goes over type show.
Don Fujii & Jason Lee vs. Tribe Vanguard (BxB Hulk & Kzy) - Maybe it's just me, but I don't see much of a point in BxB Hulk anymore. He feels old and outdated. People may remember Jason Lee from the CWC. He made his debut for DG here and had a great fire-up that the crowd bought into. This was the weakest match of the show but that was mainly due to lackluster crowd reaction.
Open The Brave Gate Title Match Jimmy Kagetora (c) vs. Yosuke Santa Maria - 🌶 - There is a difference in culture between Japan and the west. Maria is the most obvious case. With his weird gimmick, you sometimes forget how good he really can be when given the chance. Kagetora, for me, is one of the absolute most underrated guys in all of wrestling. His lucha style is totally my sort of thing. The closing five minutes were fire. A much better match that would be expected looking at the paper.
MaxiMuM (Ben-K, Masato Yoshino & Naruki Doi) vs. Over Generation (Eita, Kaito Ishida & Takehiro Yamamura) - The amount of love that I have for each member of this match is incredible. Ben-K picking up this win was huge, especially considering that normally it'd go to Doi or Yoshino, but we're seeing progression upwards for Ben-K and I am fully behind him. Ishida, and especailly Yamamura, are extremely impressive for their age and experience. Bright future for Dragon Gate when you watch the young guys in this one.
Open The Twin Gate Title Match Over Generation (CIMA & Dragon Kid) (c) vs. MaxiMuM (Big R Shimizu & Kotoka) - 🌶 - After Doi and Yoshino failed to beat CIMA & Kid at Kobe, the younger men from MaxiMuM were given a chance. This is another case of the young wrestlers being highlighted. Kotoka is a fantastic underdog that a crowd can get behind and Big R is a star just waiting for his moment. I wish we saw more Big R but him not being able to get involved told a great story (maybe the next challengers will be Big R and Ben-K?). CIMA and Kid still kill on a regular basis.
Losing Unit Must Disband No Disqualification Elimination Match Jimmyz (Genki Horiguchi HAGeeMee, Jimmy K-ness JKS, Jimmy Kanda, Jimmy Susumu & Ryo Jimmy Saito) vs. VerserK (El Lindaman, Punch Tominaga, Shingo Takagi, T-Hawk & Takashi Yoshida) - 🌶🌶🌶🌶 - WOW! Breath-taking display of storytelling throughout this one. One of my absolute favorite matches from DG this year (possibly my favorite). You have the long-standing Jimmyz stable losing and having to disband. Incredible and heart-breaking. T-Hawk was the one to put the final nail in the coffin, furthering his accession up to the higher ranks of DG which still no one buys. Susumu took the final fall and gives a heartfelt speech afterwards while people in the crowd are visibly in tears. One of the top moments of the year in professional wrestling.
Open The Dream Gate Title Match YAMATO (c) vs. Masaaki Mochizuki - 🌶🌶🌶 - Talk about a match that has high standards and being able to fully deliever, look no further than this one here. For his age, no one is better than Mochizuki. The reign of YAMATO has ended and we're left with something better. This was fully needed after the heartbreaking defeat of Jimmyz. Their intensity from start to finish was perfectly on display. This felt like a big deal and delievered greatly. You cannot get much better than this.
Overall this has to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, wrestling show of the year. The emotions felt from match to match were palpable. Ups and downs, zigs and zags, surprises and feel-good moments. You can't ask for much better than what Dragon Gate gave you here. The main event scene is freshened up, the Jimmyz are now all on their own, the stock of Big R, Ben-K and Yamamura are all rising. I'm really looking forward to the things to come out of Dragon Gate after this show.
Show Rating: 9.5/10

India FTR 1200
No more gossipy tidbits, clues, and foreshadowings! This is it, the Indian FTR 1200, the road going soil tracker and the most essential model for Indian Motorcycle since it relaunched as an advanced cruiser organization in 2013. The Indian Scout FTR750 earth track racer drove the way, obviously, yet it wasn't considered much sooner than this machine. Configuration take a shot at the FTR750 motor started in January 2016, it was reported in February, and with a tight, devoted group that incorporated Polaris' race-canny Swissauto division getting it going, it was contending on US tracks in only nine months. The rambunctious gathering that had pursued Indian's underlying come back to earth track proposed something more: a streetbike subsidiary.
As indicated by International Product Manager Ben Lindaman, the FTR 1200 building exertion started in March 2016, implying that it needed to have been a twinkle in somebody's eye from nearly the time the FTR750 was endorsed. However, the Hooligan Scouts that Roland Sands had worked in 2015 and the FTR750 surely affirmed and fortified that there was a great deal of enthusiasm for such a machine. We expected to ensure we conveyed on the style of the FTR750, Lindaman said. We had an overall center gathering—we got a great deal of criticism that the styling was correct.
In any case, it isn't simply styling; with the FTR 1200, Indian is building its first genuinely athletic bike, a bike that will grow its span past the cruiser and great professional bicycle market and play in the streetfighter showcase. There are two quick tells on that athletic center: the riding position and the motor tune and bundling, yet more on both later.
One man connects every one of the variations of Indian earth trackers: Polaris Senior Industrial Designer Rich Christoph, who, working with Jared Mees, bundled and planned the look of the main Scout FTR750. In Polaris' aggressive mechanical structure process, he needed to out-portray and outcompete different originators to win that right. However, once having accomplished that, it was a characteristic for him to do the Scout FTR1200 Factory Custom, the model worked around an Indian Scout motor that foreshadowed the generation FTR 1200. Christoph portrays the Custom as a standout amongst the best encounters in his structure life, having practically total plan opportunity; he alludes to the creation FTR conversely, as "staggeringly agonizing, yet difficult in light of the fact that you [care.]"
He clarifies that in the wake of doing the 750, I knew where I needed to go where, where I needed to take the bicycle. How the extents would develop, how the lines would advance. How you get hips and a chest identified with the extents of a bigger motor. I knew in my mind the outline I needed. I needed a supporting line to shoot a feature up through the tailsection since I knew there would have been something under it.

Tracker, Rally, Sport & Tour Collections Completely Restyle Indian’s New FTR 1200 & FTR 1200 S
Indian Motorcycle, America’s first motorcycle company, today announced its FTR 1200 accessory lineup at the International Motorcycle and Accessories Exhibition (EICMA) in Milan, Italy. More than 40 individual accessories provide riders with endless style combinations to make the FTR 1200 truly their own. At the same time, Indian has curated four collections – Tracker, Rally, Sport and Tour – allowing riders to transform the FTR 1200 into the style that represents their riding preference.
Indian broke new ground for American V-twins when developing its FTR 1200 – an aggressively styled creation that blends elements of flat track, street and sport into one of the most unique motorcycles ever developed. The introduction of the four accessory collections, and the complete lineup of more than 40 parts and accessories, takes the FTR 1200 platform to another level, allowing riders to completely restyle the bike into a personal expression unlike any other.
“In its stock form, the FTR 1200 is a beautifully-designed flat track-inspired street bike with immense opportunity for personalisation and customisation,” said Reid Wilson, Sr. Director for Indian Motorcycle. “The new accessory lineup significantly elevates the FTR 1200 platform. Riders can completely restyle the look and feel of the bike to better represent their riding style through one of our four collections or by mixing and matching parts to create something truly one-of-a-kind.”
Built for personalisation, the FTR 1200 collections comprise more than 40 different parts and accessories and feature the following:
Tracker The Tracker collection for the FTR 1200 is most representative of the bike’s flat-track racing roots. It’s the closest riders will come to a street-legal FTR750 race bike. A shallow seat with a unique seat cowl, high-mount slip-on exhaust by Akrapovič, and side-mounted number plates set the Tracker collection apart.
Rally The Rally collection draws inspiration from lonely camp sites traversed on forgotten forest roads. Riders will immediately notice sturdy aluminium spoked wheels and a high-mount Akrapovič exhaust on the Rally collection. A unique seat, mudguards, tank covers, windscreen, Rally Handlebar by ProTaper, and a high-mount license plate holder round out the Rally collection. The configuration allows the FTR 1200 to take full advantage of the bike’s 150 mm of suspension travel.
Sport The Sport collection is a no-nonsense assembly of carbon fibre parts that scream speed and visually underscore the FTR 1200’s performance potential. The Sport collection is the FTR 1200 distilled down to its athletic core, outfitted with a low mount slip-on exhaust by Akrapovič, and a unique carbon fibre front mudguard, tank cover and seat cowl.
Tour The Tour collection provides a heavy dose of utility, turning the FTR 1200 into a highway weapon for smashing miles on longer journeys. With plenty of storage via water-resistant, roll-top side messenger bag, tank bag, and a windshield, the Tour collection keeps FTR 1200 riders comfortable on longer-hauls.
“When developing the FTR 1200, it was important for us to create a platform that offered dynamic, yet convenient, personalisation and customisation opportunities,” said Ben Lindaman, Indian Motorcycle Senior International Product Manager. “We’re extremely proud of these accessories and collections, as they drastically change the design of the bike – ultimately creating more styling options to satisfy a wide-range of rider preferences.”
The FTR 1200 combines race-inspired design and nimble handling with an upright riding position to create a commanding riding experience. A new 1203cc V-Twin engine with approximately 120 horsepower (90kW) makes sure every rider feels like a pro when they twist the throttle. The new platform is a key component in Indian Motorcycle’s broader mission to expand its global appeal and reach new riders.
The complete accessory lineup and four collections will be available in dealers in spring 2019. To find your nearest dealer, visit www.indianmotorcycle.eu.
