I was rereading the fics as a break from finals and thought it was interesting that Cass never mentioned any of her personal friends? (same with the other girls) Does Cass have friends that are related from her acting job or back in Belgium?

She doesn’t really have any real friends which is why she relies on Ji-eun to help when she falls pregnant. She’d have acquaintances in the theatre or people she has met through singing or acting (such as Ara) but she’d also not really allow herself to grow close to a lot of people in her profession as it’s such a competitive career. I think she’s mentioned friends off hand such as a friend suggesting the Dreamboats and Petticoats role. She’d get on with the people she works with and maintain a good bond if she saw them again but she’d not really be the type to hang out with them all the time.
She’s not necessarily the most solitary girlfriend though as we feel Nana is someone who just really enjoys her own company, in nature or walking dogs, and doesn’t really feel lonely in it. Ji-eun also knows a lot of people but doesn’t really feel close to anyone as she has a lot of trust issues and the type of people she meets, again, are always in competition with her in some way and she also works really long hours, but she actually does find herself as lonely and missing that contact, so instead she finds comfort and friendship at the bottom of a bottle, as so many people in career driven professions do.
Young-soon is quite social and mentions friends a few times, she texts one to say she’s on a date with Jk the first time and also is close to her co-worker who moves departments in ‘Aftermath’.
Min-Seo has one close friend who is her bridesmaid but used to have more. It’s mentioned at her Bachelorette party that a lot of her friends stopped talking to her once the news of her engagement was made public, which broke Jin’s heart a little, but she’s also found good friendship with Jeong-sun and Nana, as well as making up with her sister.
Jeong-sun is also naturally introverted and enjoys her own company, but has that group of friends including Angel she used to hang out with a lot, more out of pressure to go and sometimes being the allocated driver. Her best friend though is Yu-Jin, who Jhope is paired with in 7 Mins in Heaven. Although they don’t see each other super often, that doesn’t really take away from their friendship. She also becomes close to Nana snd Min-Seo.
Ara, who ends up living a very busy life, would be friends with her band mates, stylists, crew etc but generally gets on well with most people including the other girlfriends. She’s actually quite social, even when her and Jimin first met, but doesn’t necessarily have one best friend (not since her ex left her for her friend which is mentioned in the fic where she loses her virginity).
In general though, I think some of the girls lack of friends/changing friendship groups is just a reflection of what it’s often like being a girl in your 20s/30s. It’s a lot harder to maintain friendships once people get different careers and when it takes real effort to actually go out and see and connect with people. Also, it’s when people start to really see their differences in priority to other people and realise they want different things from life and have less in common without school or university acting as a bond.
