Congress Wins Six Seats in Northeast Following Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Rally Route
The Congress party had great success in the northeast, capturing six Lok Sabha seats along Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra (BJNY) route. This election triumph has been attributed to Mr. Gandhi’s strong bond with the people during his 63-day rally from January 14 to March 16, which encompassed 20 of the 28 districts in these constituencies.
Successful Constituencies
The Congress triumphed in Inner Manipur, Outer Manipur, Nagaland, Jorhat, Nagaon, and Dhubri. These areas were essential to Mr. Gandhi’s BJNY itinerary, underscoring the rally’s significance to the party’s victory. Tura, Meghalaya’s seventh seat, also benefited from the rally’s spillover impact, particularly from its nearby Shillong constituency in Meghalaya and the Dhubri and Guwahati constituencies in Assam.
Heart-to-Heart Connect
The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra kicked off at Thoubal, the hometown of Manipur’s Congress Legislature Party leader and former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, as well as State Congress president K. Meghachandra Singh. The demonstration went through Imphal East and Kangpokpi, two districts hard hit by the ongoing ethnic violence between the Meitei and Kuki-Zo populations. According to Ningombam Bupenda Meitei, a senior spokesperson for the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr. Gandhi’s “heart-to-heart connect” with the people along the yatra path contributed to the Congress’ success in Manipur and other northeastern states.
Assam’s Religious Significance
The route also featured notable cultural and religious attractions. The Kamakhya Temple, located atop the Neelachal Hills in Guwahati, is widely regarded as the most important Hindu pilgrimage site in the northeast. However, the holiest destination for Vaishnavism believers in Assam is Batadrava, the birthplace of saint-reformer Srimanta Sankaradeva in the 15th century. Batadrava is also a significant Assembly segment in the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency.

As Rahul remarks fan Savarkar heat, Maharashtra Cong fears will be singed
RAHUL Gandhi may have gone ahead with his remarks on Hindutva ideologue V D Savarkar during the Maharashtra leg of his Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY) despite strong advice against it by the Congress state leadership.
According to sources within the Congress, Rahul was advised by three senior party leaders to avoid mentioning Savarkar’s controversial mercy petition issue during his speeches in Maharashtra. “One of the concerns was the reaction of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena. The state unit’s leaders wanted to avoid controversy, and asked Rahul to focus only on issues of unemployment, inflation and agrarian crisis,” an insider told The Indian Express.
Opinion |Girish Kuber writes: Both Congress in criticising him, and BJP in owning him, take a partial and blinkered view of VD Savarkar
“Despite the advice, that Rahul chose to rake up the Savarkar issue, that too with documents and, at a press conference, shows that he was prepared to attack,” said an AICC leader, while pointing out that there has never been any ambiguity regarding Rahul’s stand on Savarkar, even when the Maha Vikas Aghadi was formed with the Shiv Sena and NCP.Read More on..

Before writing more, I need to make my political positions clearer:
I think the electoral failures of the Indian National Congress (INC) in the past are somewhat inevitable and desirable

"Risk Increases": Rahul Gandhi In Assam, M Kharge's Letter To Amit Shah
A day after Rahul Gandhi-led Congress workers clashed with Assam police personnel on the Guwahati city limits, party president Mallikarjun Kharge wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, seeking his intervention to ensure the security of Mr Gandhi and other participants of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
This comes after Assam Police filed an FIR against Mr Gandhi and other Congress leaders for the clash. They have been charged with criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly, breach of peace, among others. The case was filed after Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the "naxalite tactics" used by Congress workers are "not part of Assamese culture".
In his letter to the Home Minister, Mr Kharge listed "several instances where the Assam Police has been found wanting in providing adequate security" Mr Gandhi is entitled to as a Z+ protectee. He then referred to the defacing of Congress posters and BJP workers blocking the Congress yatra on January 21 and assaulting state party chief Bhupen Borah.
"In all of the troubling events mentioned above, the Assam Police has systematically stood by and/or allowed BJP workers to come closer and closer to the convoy of Shri. Rahul Gandhi, breaching his security cordon, and endangering his physical security and that of his team," Mr Kharge wrote.
None of those involved in these incidents, he said, had been arrested despite the presence of evidence in the public domain. "As the risk increases and as the Yatra proceeds as planned, we request your intervention to ensure that the Chief Minister of Assam and the Director General of Police, Assam ensure that no such untoward incident takes place which may lead to grave personal injury to Shri. Rahul Gandhi or any members of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra," he added.
Congress leaders have been alleging that Mr Sarma has been creating hurdles in the yatra. Yesterday's clash at Guwahati city limits took place when police stopped Congress workers from moving on city roads. The administration had earlier denied permission for the yatra to move through the city's arterial roads, citing congestion fears. Congress workers termed the grounds of denying permission frivolous and tried to break through the barricades, leading to the clash with cops.
