‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Kiara Advani and Disha Patani clocked 4 years today. Helmed by Neeraj Pandey, the film was highly appreciated by the critics and audience. Sushant received praise from all the quarters for his excellent performance. As the film completed four years today, Etimes got in touch with Ashrut Jain, who played the part of Shabbir Hussain, a school team captain of MS Dhoni.

Speaking about the film, he said, ”MS Dhoni was one the most amazing experiences I ever had. Not many know that during my school days, I was a brilliant Cricket player. I played a number of tournaments and under 16 Madhya Pradesh. However, with time the tide went towards dramatics and then I also got my admission at St. Xaviers College Mumbai because I was brilliant in my academics too. So cricket was love but it definitely took a back seat. As you know once you love a sport it remains with you life long.”

He further added, ”I was specifically looking for a film which was based on cricket in which I can act so it will satisfy me as an actor and as a cricketer. I auditioned for MS Dhoni. It was a small part of Shabbir Hussain, school team captain of MS Dhoni but I wanted to do it because I knew the film was going to be historical.”

Jain revealed that the film was released on his birthday which makes it way more special.

Ashrut also talked about the football match they had just before leaving for Ranchi with the crew. ”It was directors XI v/s actors XI. I scored the goal of my own team ‘by mistake’ and this made me a blue-eyed boy of directors eleven”, he said.

Speaking about the time spent on the sets with the late actor, he said, ”Sushant is a classic example of how to acquire sporting skills as an actor. He has set a benchmark for generations to come. At times, from a distance, it was difficult to judge whether it was MSD on-field or SSR. I remember him practising to perfection for hours. For years, the MS Dhoni biopic will be an encyclopaedia for actors who want to bring alive a sportsperson on the silver screen.”

The film also featured Anupam Kher, Bhumika Chawla and Kranti Prakash Jha in supporting roles.

Producer Tanujj Garg and filmmaker Pooja Bhatt have responded to speculation about the film industry, particularly around on nepotism and the perceived injustice suffered by outsiders in Bollywood, after the untimely death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Taking to Twitter, Tanujj wrote that he was ‘tired’ of the speculation by ‘idle outsiders’ who were pretending to know everything about the workings of the film industry.

“Am I the only one tired of reading silly conspiracy theories by idle outsiders with ample time on hand, masquerading as authorities on the film industry?,” he wrote on Twitter.

Responding to his tweet, Pooja said that she was ‘bemused’ by the ‘sheer obsession’ of these people. “You’re tired. I am bemused. Not only by their authority but also by their sheer obsession,” she wrote. There has been a social media outrage with many holding the ‘Bollywood privilege club’ responsible for isolating Sushant. Others have urged people to ‘celebrate’ the actor’s life instead of indulging in such analysis and name calling.

Earlier, in an Instagram live, Sushant’s Sonchiriya co-star Manoj Bajpayee expressed unhappiness about the analysis of his death. “When I see the cacophony around me and people trying to find the reason behind the suicide…everyone has their own theory and we are not talking about the contribution that he has made at such a young age, the journey that he took and where he reached…it is leaving a very bad taste in my mouth. Why can’t we celebrate the person that he was?,” he asked.

More recently, Sushant’s MS Dhoni: The Untold Story co-star Bhumika Chawla urged everyone to stop speculating. “Dear Sushant – wherever you are – you are in the hands of God …. it’s Been a week since you have gone … What took you away —- THE SECRET HAS GONE WITH YOU — buried deep in your heart and mind,” she wrote.

“There are speculations of why it happened …. THERE IS MUD SLINGING – there is wrath – there is — ‘who is to be blamed’ —— there is ‘industry did it’ —- ‘relationship did this’ … so on and so forth …. Dear PEOPLE RESPECT A SOUL GONE … PRAY AND LOOK AHEAD,” she added.

दोस्तों बॉलीवुड और साउथ इंडस्ट्री की सबसे फेमस अभिनेत्री भूमिका चावला का 41 वां जन्मिदन हैं। भूमिका चावला ने साल 2003 में सलमान खान की फिल्म तेरे नाम बॉलीवुड में अपने करियर की शुरुआत की थी। साल 2003 में सलमान खान के साथ भोली सी लड़की की भूमिका निभाकर चर्चा में आईं भूमिका चावला उन अभिनेत्रियों में से है जिन्हें दर्शक आज भी उनकी पहली फिल्म से याद रखते हैं।

भूमिका ने इसके बाद भी कई फिल्मों में काम किया लेकिन उन्हें केवल सलमान खान की तेरे नाम के लिए ही याद किया जाता है। पंजाबी फैमिली से ताल्लुक रखने वाली भूमिका ने साउथ की फिल्मों से शुरुआत की थी और वे कुछ ही समय में जाना माना नाम बन गईं थी। तभी उन्हें फिल्म ‘तेरे नाम’ में सलमान खान के साथ काम करने का मौका मिला।

भूमिका चावला हिंदी भाषा समेत तेलुगु, तमिल, भोजपुरी, पंजाबी और मलयालम भाषा की फिल्मों में भी काम कर चुकी हैं।  भूमिका चावला का जन्म 21 अगस्त 1978 में दिल्ली में एक पंजाबी परिवार में हुआ था।  दर्शकों ने सलमान के काम के साथ भूमिका के अभिनय को भी खूब सराहा। इसके बाद भूमिका के पास कई हिंदी फिल्मों के ऑफर आने लगे।

साल 2004 में भूमिका ने अभिषेक बच्चन के साथ फिल्म ‘रन’ में काम किया। यह फिल्म बॉक्स ऑफिस पर कुछ खास कमाल नहीं दिखा पाई। इस फिल्म के बाद भूमिका को फिल्म ‘सिलसिले’ और ‘दिल जो भी कहे’ में फिर से सलमान के साथ काम करने का मौका मिला। दोनों ही फिल्में बुरी तरह फ्लॉप हुईं. 2007 में आई हिंदी फिल्म ‘गांधी, माई फादर’ के बाद भूमिका ने लंबे अंतराल के बाद हिंदी फिल्म की। इस फिल्म का नाम ‘एमएस धोनी: द अनटोल्ड लव स्टोरी’ था जो कि साल 2016 में आई थी।

बॉलीवुड में कुछ कमाल न दिखा पाने के बाद भूमिका चावला ने फिर से अपना रुख तेलुगू फिल्मों की तरफ मोड़ लिया और वहां उन्होंने कई फिल्मों में काम किया जो हिट रहीं।  भूमिका अब भी फिल्मी दुनिया में सक्रिय है। वे कल्कि कोचलिन के साथ एक प्रोजेक्ट में नज़र आने वाली हैं। वे अब ‘सब भ्रम है’ नाम की वेबसीरीज में काम करती दिखेंगी। इस सीरीज में कल्कि कोचलिन और संजय सूरी जैसे सितारे नज़र आएंगे। इस सीरीज को संगीत सिवन डायरेक्ट कर रहे हैं। ये शो जी5 प्रीमियम पर दिखाया जाएगा।
