Immediately after the #BitcoinCash hard fork, the blocks on the #BitcoinABC chain started filling up with nonsensically small transactions. At the time of writing shortly after the #fork, three such blocks had been mined with a total of more than 50,000 transactions worth less than 0.5 #BCH total. As seen in the video below, the attack was ongoing around lunchtime Chicago time on November 15. The method of attack seemed to be repeatedly sending transactions between the same addresses. This address, for instance, received 500 of the earliest spam transactions. It then appeared to send transactions to itself. Given the large block size limit of Bitcoin Cash in general, it would take a lot more spam transactions than this to actually have a truly negative impact on the network. Collectively, the three blocks above did not surpass a size of 10MB. Over an extended period of time, say 2 to 3 weeks or more, however, this spam attack could have a negative impact in that it would fill up the hard drives of Bitcoin ABC full nodes, or if the breadth of it were increased it could potentially impact the cost of BCH transactions as well as the availability of block space. Roger Ver nimmt Stellung zum Bitcoin Cash Hard Fork - Craig Wright

In einem kürzlich veröffentlichten Video spricht Roger Ver, der extrovertierte Befürworter von Bitcoin Cash (BCH) und der CEO von Bitcoin.com über den bevorstehenden Bitcoin Cash Hard Fork. Ver erklärte dass Wright dessen Firma nChain an der BCH-Softwareimplementierung Bitcoin SV arbeitet, ihn „getäuscht“ habe. Roger Ver und der selbst ernannte Bitcoin-Schöpfer Craig Wright waren einst dicke Freunde und propagierten, dass Bitcoin Cash (BCH) die wahre Vision von Bitcoin erfülle. Dies hat sich nun geändert. Wie Ver in dem Youtube Video erklärt, sei „es nie einfach zu sagen, dass man sich getäuscht habe, aber vielleicht wurde ich getäuscht“. In dem Video mit dem Titel „Roger Ver’s Thoughts on 15th November Bitcoin Cash Upgrade“ präsentiert Ver eine E-Mail, von der er sagt, dass er sie am 3. November von Craig Wright erhalten hat, nachdem Bitcoin.com angekündigt hat, dass es den Upgrade-Plan von Bitcoin ABC und nicht Wrights und nChain’s Implementation unterstützen würde. Angeblich hat Wright geschrieben: Wenn du dich auf die Seite von ABC stellst, hasst du Bitcoin, du bist mein Feind. Du hast f-king keine Ahnung, was das bedeutet. Du wirst es. Ich bin Satoshi. Er sagte, dass er im Laufe der Zeit skeptisch gegenüber Wrights technischem Verständnis geworden sei. Einige Dinge, die Craig sagt, sind wirklich genau richtig, aber andere Dinge, wovon er spricht – er hat keine Ahnung. Es scheint seltsam, dass Craig sich weigert, sich dort an irgendeiner technischen Debatte zu beteiligen, und mein Verdacht an dieser Stelle ist, dass er es nicht kann. Bitcoin ABC Publishes Proposed Technical Roadmap for Bitcoin Cash

The goal of Bitcoin ABC is to help create sound money that is usable by everyone in the world. We believe this is a civilization-changing technology which will dramatically increase human freedom and prosperity. Our role in furthering this goal is to produce high-quality software that serves the needs of the community of users, miners and merchants. We strive for continuous technical improvement, to produce a reliable product that will provide a solid foundation for Bitcoin Cash. The recent release of Bitcoin ABC 0.18.0 was the latest step along this path. It continues the process of careful and incremental technical progress. In order to plan for the future, we base our plans on sound technical engineering to make design decisions. Based on this approach, we believe the future development of Bitcoin Cash should focus on three areas: Improving 0-conf transactions. We want to ensure that the payment experience instant and reliable, without requiring any changes to the consensus rules. Implementing technical measures to enable massive on-chain scaling. The fundamental design of Bitcoin Cash is sound, but there are some technical improvements that must be made to enable Bitcoin Cash to scale to a world-wide currency. We are working to remove immediate bottlenecks such as the mempool admittance code and mining RPC, as well as laying the groundwork to enable massive on-chain scaling well into the future. Improving fungibility. As a cash system, Bitcoin Cash should embrace methods to improve its fungibility.
