THE RUSTIC CHARM OF THE OLD BOSOBOSO CHURCH During our tour of heritage churches in Rizal Province in 2020, JB Tahum turned into a small road from the wide highway. We drove through the mountainside that seemed more like a forest than a community. JB said that there was an old church in the area that he wanted me to see. Soon enough, the trees gave way to houses and the houses led to a small stone church. It was the Old Bosoboso Church. A 2001 National Historical Institute marker on the church's façade was replaced by a 2018 National Historical Commission of the Philippines marker. The newer marker gave a more detailed account of the church's history: The first church in the area was built by Franciscan missionaries when they organized the Dumagat people in Lanatin and Linotan on the mountains of Tanay into a settlement in 1669. In 1670, the Franciscans called this the San Andrés de Lanatin Mission. In 1741, it became a town and was called Bosoboso. By this time, the Jesuits were handling the mission. (In his "Estado Geográfico...," Padre Félix de Huerta, OFM wrote that the San Andrés Mission was transferred to the Jesuits in 1703.) When the Jesuits were expelled, the secular clergy took care of the church. An earthquake in 1880 damaged the church. In 1911, the residents of the town were transferred to New Bosoboso when the area of Old Bosoboso was included in the Marikina Watershed Reservation. During the Second World War, the Hunters ROTC Guerillas used the church ruins as their headquarters. It was only in 1995 when the parishioners and the Camillian priests decided to restore the church. In 2004, it became a parish under the Diocese of Antipolo. Its patroness is Nuestra Señora de la Anunciata. During our first visit, the church was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It took two years before JB and I returned to church; this time we brought Albert Vincent Barretto with us. Fortunately, the church was open when we visited it the second time around. I fell in love with the simplicity of the church. LUNGSOD NG CALAMBA, Laguna, Abril 21 (PIA) --Ang lungsod ng Antipolo na ang may pinakamataas na bilang ng coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 positive patients habang nanatili namang COVID-19 free ang bayan ng Pililla base sa pinakabagong ulat ng pamahalaang panlalawigan ng Rizal, alas-10 ng gabi, Abril 20.

Patuloy ang pagbibigay ng relief goods ng pamahalaang lungsod ng Antipolo sa mga residente ng siyudad upang makatulong sa pang-araw araw pagkain habang nasa ilalim ng enhanced community quarantine ang buong Luzon. (Larawan mula sa Jun-Andeng Ynares official FB Page.)

Ayon sa talaan, nasa 87 na ang kabuuang bilang ng COVID-19 positive patients sa Antipolo City, kasunod ang Cainta 82, Binangonan 35, Taytay 32, San Mateo 20, Rodriguez 14, Teresa 10,  Angono 9, Cardona 5, Morong 4, Baras 3, Jalajala 2, at Tanay 1 habang nananatiling walang naitatalang positibo sa COVID-19 sa bayan ng Pililla.

Kaugnay nito, lalo pang pinaigting ng pamahalaang lungsod ng Antipolo ang mga hakbang nito upang mapigilan ang patuloy na pagkalat ng coronavirus disease (COVID)-19 sa lungsod.  Kabilang dito ang patuloy na kampanya na mapanatili ang mga residente sa kani-kanilang mga tahanan, patuloy na house to house distribution ng relief goods sa mga iba't ibang barangay, at pagtatakda ng mobile palengke schedule.

Nakipag-ugnayan na rin sa mga iba't ibang hotel ang pamahalaang lungsod upang magamit na pahingahan ng mga frontliners.

"Bukod sa Bosoboso Highlands, Cloud 9, Insider’s View, at Bosay, nag-alok na rin ng libreng hotel accommodation para sa mga medical frontliners ang First Pacific Leadership Academy, Gem’s Hotel at Haliday Apartelle," ayon kay Antipolo City Mayor Andrea Ynares.  "Halos 220 bed spaces ang maaring gamiting pahingahan ng mga bayaning frontliners." 

Umabot sa kabuuang bilang na 2,143  ang curfew violators at walang quarantine pass sa lungsod, 34 ang impounded tricycles, at 115 naman ang impounded motorcycles base sa datos ng Antipolo City Police Station. (Larawan mula sa Jun-Andeng Ynares official FB Page)

Samantala, base sa pinakahuling datos ng Antipolo City Police Station ng iba't ibang uri ng paglabag sa umiiral na enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) na inilabas sa official Facebook Page ni Antipolo City Mayor Andrea Ynares noong Abril 19, umabot sa  kabuuang bilang na 2,143  ang curfew violators at walang quarantine pass sa lungsod, 34 ang impounded tricycles, at 115 naman ang impounded motorcycles.

May 218 sa mga nahuling lumabag ang kasalukuyang nakakulong at nahaharap sa iba't ibang kaso at tuloy-tuloy ang kaso kahit matapos ang COVID-19 crisis, ayon kay Antipolo City Mayor Andrea Ynares. "Sinisiguro naman sa mga kapamilya ng mga nakasuhan na patuloy ang pag-supply ng makakain ng mga nakakulong sa araw-araw. Halos 700 ang bilang ng detainees sa PNP at nasa 1,800 detainees ang nasa City Jail."
