18+ MINORS AND THOSE WITHOUT AGE IN BIO DNI
YOU WILL BE BLOCKED AND REPORTED
warnings: language, talk of smoking weed
AN: when can I start writing fix it fics? No reason. Just wanna know. Y’all know I’ve been watching Kevin smith movies recently. It was just a manner of time.
It was quiet in the Quick Stop. Dante was the only one working since Randal was out sick. Wandering around the shelves, I kept glancing over at him.
“Randal isn’t here. You don’t have to pretend like you’re a customer (Y/N).” Dante called out as I passed an aisle. “Come on up.” His easy smile made me smirk back at him.
“Interesting proposal there Dante.” I teased as I joined him behind the counter. “What are we going to do on your day off?” He rolled his eyes and dropped his head onto his arms.
“Don’t remind me.” He mumbled out. I patted his back before he turned his head towards me. “You going to keep me company all day?” I shrugged.
“I don’t have any classes. Nothing better to do.” He smiled at me. “But if Jay and Silent Bob come in I’m dropping behind this damn counter.” Dante laughed as he stood back up.
“Why? What’d they do that makes you have to hide?” I rolled my eyes.
“It’s more Jay than Silent Bob. Honestly.” I leaned against the counter. “He keeps wanting to hang out, smoke some weed. When I say no, he asks me out on a date.” Dante scoffed. “Where he then wants to do the same fucking thing.”
“How would you know that’s what he wants to do on a date?” Dante leaned over and bumped his shoulder against mine. I sighed and turned away from him so he couldn’t see my face. “You went out with him!” I shook my head. “Oh shit! You did! You actually went out with him!” He laughed as I turned back towards him, face slightly red.
“Shut up Dante.” I hit his arm and rolled my eyes. Dante smirked at me and continued to quietly laugh. “It wasn’t that fun and he’s been trying to convince me that the second date will be better.”
“it won’t be.” I nodded.
“Besides the only reason I agreed was it didn’t seem like anyone else would have been asking me anytime soon.” I shrugged and slowly rearranged some of the containers lining the shelf. Dante stopped laughing and gently pulled me into a side hug.
“The right person will come along soon.” He put his chin on the top of my head. I sighed as I leaned against him, tilting my head so I could lay it on his shoulder. “When you least expect it.” I pulled away to smile at him.
“Thanks Dante.” I whispered and let him pull me back into his embrace. “How are things with you and Veronica?” He rolled his eyes.
“Fucking non-existent.” He let go of me and leaned against the counter. “We broke up.” I mirrored him and raised my eyebrows.
“How come?” Dante smirked over at me.
“There was someone else.” I shook my head. “For both of us. It was amicable. She’s going out with the other guy tomorrow night I think.” A customer walked in and Dante looked over to see who came in.
“What about you?” There was a pause before Dante smiled over at me.
“You know she asked me the same question.” He paused while he rung up the customer. “There’s someone I’ve been thinking about a lot lately but I don’t know if I have the courage to ask them out.” He handed over the change and I waved to the person on their way out.
“Honesty is best Dante. Whoever it is will probably appreciate it a lot more if you just tell them how you feel.” Dante leaned against the counter and looked at me. “Fuck the consequences.” He smiled as he ducked his head. “But for the love of all things good please tell me it isn’t Randal.” I started laughing and Dante quickly joined in.
“No. It isn’t Randal.” He shook his head. “It’s you.” His expression changed slightly and his laughter fizzled out into a small smile. I tilted my head at him.
“Me?” The wheels in my head started to turn and suddenly the million little things we always did with each other made ten times more sense. It slowly dawned on me what I thought was love for my best friend was really me being in actual love with Dante Hicks. He stood there watching me, the smile still on his face.
“Yes. You.” He slowly stepped forward and gently tugged me into a hug. “It seemed like every time I went out with Veronica I was thinking about you. Either how you were handling Randal back here at the store or if you were doing ok in your classes or if you were going on a stress rampage or just completely crashing from it instead. Even when I was just sitting here alone or if Randal just wouldn’t shut up.” I laughed as Dante’s smile grew. “When I couldn’t get you out of my head no matter what I tried, I figured it was more than you just being my best friend.” I wrapped my arms around Dante’s waist as he talked.
“We’ve always been a little more than friends haven’t we?” I finally asked. With a smirk, Dante nodded. “I like you too Dante.”

YOU WILL BE BLOCKED AND REPORTED
Warnings: parents being dicks, language, suggestive language
AN: hi. Yes I feel like shit. So here’s this. Normally it would be metatron. But today here’s Dante hicks cuz I’m suddenly aware of how touch starved I am (physically and emotionally) and it’s just weird to make an angel into your significant other. I may do a snape one later idk yet.
I slammed the door to the Quick Stop and immediately climbed the counter. Dante stared at me like I had gone crazy.
“What the fuck?” As soon as I landed on my feet behind the counter, I hugged him. “I’m not complaining about the hug but what the fuck (Y/N)?”
“Do you want me?” I tightened my hug. “And before you answer I don’t mean in a take me behind the counter right now way. I mean in a as a human being do you…”
“Want you around.” Dante tightened his grip on me as well. “Of course I do. I’m madly in love with you. Why wouldn’t I want you around?”
“My parents added a new one.” I pulled away slightly to look Dante in the eye.
“A new one?” Randal made his presence known from behind me.
“Accident. Mistake. And now unwanted.” Dante quickly started to cover my face in kisses.
“Damn (Y/N). Your parents suck.” Randal deadpanned. I laughed a little, between the comment and the kisses, my mood was starting to shift. “By the way, I want you too. It’s not just this lovestruck idiot that would feel like shit if you weren’t here. I need someone to talk Jedi with.” I let out a full laugh as I looked over my shoulder at Randal.
“Thanks Randal.” He patted my back as Dante leaned down to bury his head between my shoulder and neck. “I know I shouldn’t let this shit bother me but it does.” Dante hummed as he pressed a kiss to my neck.
“You should know by now half the shit they say is just smoke blowing out their ass.” I reached up and started to slowly comb through Dante’s hair with my fingers. “I mean who would ever call you a mistake?”
“Randal’s right.” Dante murmured. “If you’re a mistake you’re the best one that’s ever been made.” I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to stop the tears I could feel welling up. "I know you feel like crying right now but I'm sure you've cried enough for the time being." I nodded and pulled away from him.
"I'm just going to hang out here for the rest of the day." I leaned against the counter, wiping my eyes and blinking away the remaining tears. "Has it really been this quiet all day?" Dante nodded as he took the spot next to me, his shoulder bumping into mine.
"Yeah." Dante propped his chin in his hand and looked over at me. Randal walked over to the cooler and brought me over a bottle of Gatorade. "Hockey game at 2. We're closing for the game. Wanna play?"
"Can I watch today instead?" I gently picked at a loose string on my sleeve.
"Don't see why not." Randal leaned back on the counter on the other side of me. "The guys are always giving Dante shit for getting you involved anyway. Aside from the whole my partner is playing with us now thing you're really good at this shit. They hate it." I laughed as I made a swipe at his hat. Randal grabbed it quickly. “Hey!” Sticking his tongue out at me, he left the store muttering something about checking on the video store.
“Looks like you’re starting to be a better mood.” I nodded and leaned my head on Dante’s shoulder. “Good.” He kissed my head and reached over to hold my hand.
