I've been hyperfixation on btvs for a while w/o posting about aus so.....

BTVS Daemon au:

(haven't thought about this one In a while btw so there's a lot of stuff I'm probably still changing but I wanted to have it out there)

(Under cut cause it’s a bit long)

Buffy - either a toller dog or a mountain lion. His name is atlas, meaning "to carry" since she carries the weight of the world on her teenage shoulders. He probably settled almost just after she became the slayer. Or when she came back after death No1 in s1. Whether he's a mountain lion or a toller dog, he's very puppy-like and loves cuddles. She thought he was gonna settle as a golden retriever before she became the slayer.

Willow - a phoenix that looks like just a raven or a blackbird normally. I know people would say phoenix for Buffy cause she's died twice but the idea of rebirth in the sense of change suit willow a lot better concidering how much she changes over the show. Plus the idea of a bird that looks completely normal and harmless but when she uses magic or is just angry and stuff turns into flames is really good and works perfectly for someone who is capable of (and has) killing(/killed) people. Their name is aspen cause her parents liked the tree theme. They settled the first time she did magic obviously. And she had for a while suspected they'd settle for a small bird before, her number one suspicion had been a mountain blue bird.

Xander - I’m thinking squirrel monkey or some other type of monkey, possibly like an emperor tamarin. Based on vibe yk. Her name is xenia, which means “stranger, guest, hospitality”, that wasn’t really the reason I picked it though I just mostly thought it would be funny if the whole reason Xander uses Xander as a nickname instead of Alex is cause he wanted to match with his daemon. I’m unsure when she would settle, all of them so far has settled pretty late, and for him probably the latest, I could see it being at the end of s6 because of the yellow crayon speech cause that you know represents his rare moments of being good pretty well. (Edit: remembered that's too late since he's not a teen anymore, it probably settled in late S3 or s4)

angel - a Dobermann dog cause they look exactly like him. Dark, bulky, big, terrifying but puppy, it’s perfect. Her name is Lilith cause … The bible, idk. And since I haven’t talked about it yet I’m gonna take the opportunity to talk about daemons in relation to vampires. They don’t just go poof when someone becomes a vampire even if that would be logical cause that just makes it too easy to notice vampires but they aren’t exactly there either. Since there’s no soul in the daemon they are basically just empty husks and aren’t able to talk or act on their own like normal daemons. They do tend to also give people the wig because of it since most can notice something is wrong even if they don’t know what. When a vampire regains their soul, their daemon returns to normal, though Lilith doesn’t speak much to anyone except angel either way

Tara - a cat, don’t know which breed, cause you know the witch of the witches, his name is Salem cause Tara’s mom is also a witch. He settled before Tara met willow or the other scoobies. He mainly talks to Tara, willow and later dawn.

Spike - this was a hard one for some reason, but I settled(hah) on bengal cat, will maybe change it. She settled before he became a vampire to be fair though. I just felt like their little faces fit his pathetic bottle blonde vibe. Her name is eris, which comes from the goddess of strife and Discord, plus i thought it was a pretty name. And cause of the whole no soul thing throughout most of the show she doesn’t have much personality for most of it, but more than Lilith when angel has no soul tho. She's gets all jumpy and fast-y when he gets his soul.

Giles - a barn owl, cause yknow, owls. Her name is Anne which means “intelligent”, not that that’s always true for Giles lmao but it represents both his character and relation with his dad pretty well. Also Anne is a pretty old-y name that works well with - pfft - Rupert.

Cordelia - a peacock, cause yknow… everything about her. His name is Cyril which means “master/lord” which suits her plus the name sounded fancy. He also doesn’t speak much and pretends to be all cold like Cordy but he’s a softie.

Anya - a coral snake, matched the demon and also just her vibe. Her name is Ymir cause Anyas Swedish and old. Nothing really changes with her when Anyas a demon.

faith - a panther, matches with Buffys mountain lion, his name is Thomas which means “twin”. Cause well she’s the secondary slayer, the copy, the clone, and she has yknow …some problems with being second place. I’m unsure when he would settle.

Dawn - a fawn, it rhymes :)), plus it suits her really well in symbolism and just vibe. Their name is kito which means “precious jewel”. both because Dawn is seen as precious and something that needs to be protected. And jewel because of the whole dehumanisation and that it’s something so materialistic with the whole key thing. No clue when they would settle.

Then there’s a lot more characters but I’m stopping here for now

Caging the Mongoose Timestamp - (SPN) Dean fucks up. Bad. And on purpose for attention. So he gets spanked right in an interrogation room in The Post Office by Dembe and Cooper.

A Faceless Demon - (SPN) KinkDotCom fusion with Van helping Dean let go of some shit.

You Live Here Now - (Fargo/ST) Munch doesn't blind Gator. He drops him off at a ranch in Hawkins, Indiana instead where Hopper, Billy, and a few others help rehabilitate him against his will.

?Eddie & The Basketball Team? - (ST) Eddie gets into a bad situation at a party. Billy's there to pick up the pieces.

??? - (ST/HDM) Future fic with daemons where Billy is a firefighter living with an abusive partner but his daemon thinks that paramedic guy is a much better partner, and she also thinks his daemon is hot.

Billy Has to Ask - (ST) Max is sick of Billy's shit. El scares the shit out of him and from then on he mostly does what Max says. If he fucks up, she makes him go to an adult and ask for a spanking.

??? - (X-Files/SPN) Sam and Dean are undercover but so are Skinner and Mulder. Skinner doesn't like Dean's attitude or Sam's arguments, so he puts them under FBI care. Namely himself.

?Threesome Soulmate AU? - I don't even know what fandom I want this in but it's an idea that's been stuck in my head for years and wants to come out. An aro, an ace, and a demi are all very reluctant soulmates.

Long Distance Call - (SPN) Dean's an omega without an alpha until their newest roommate, Pamela Barnes, moves in.

Yes, most of them I looked at your idea and I immediately was like, “Yes! This is totally them.”

Buffy: I’m glad I’m not just trying to make her fit into an animal I really like. Ugh, almost all the bat analyses are for fruit bats and the few microbats they have done don’t fit. I may have to go look for one myself.

Angel: Yeah I agree. I mean he hung out in a pack of vampires, and he did much better when he had a group of people supporting him. That’s more of a canine thing than a cat thing. And you’re completely right about the wolf being fitting for all his personalities.

Doyle: idk, for some reason I’m thinking of some sort of rabbit. He’s a fast talker, knows who’s who (hehe, you could say he keeps an ear to the ground), and always tries to avoid conflict and stays out of the fight (except when it really mattered ;__; ). I might also be a bit influenced because of that once bunny in Watership Down that got visions (idek why I thought of it, my brain is strange).

Wesley: I was going to give all sorts of reasons why I didn’t like the idea of a hare for him, but the TFD analysis for them do fit really well. I just don’t get that vibe from him. My brain admits that hare is a better fit than a dog, but my heart wants to see him with a Welsh Corgi because omfg ADORABLE and British and I can just see his Dad being like “well at least it’s an intelligent breed” or something.

Yeah, bird soul/Ravenclaw seems right. Idk, Owls and Ravens are both closely related to knowledge and intelligence, and then I threw in primates mostly for Orangutans and Chimps (maybe Orangutans more than Chimps though, Chimps aren’t very stuffy).

Gunn: Ooog, I like the idea of a regular leopard and the Conduit playing on his darkside.

Sooo I realized I didn’t actually have a reason for thinking Jackal was such a perfect fit for Lindsey. I suppose I could break it down to them being cunning but I don’t see them as being as trick-y as foxes or coyotes, they’re ruthless but not as extreme as hyenas are, and they’re opportunistic. He doesn’t feel as sly as a weasel and he isn’t cold like a reptile would be. So really Jackal is just the perfect medium.

Lilah just feels very cat like. (Idk, maybe it’s because she gives me the same vibe as that cat from Babe)

Darla: You said polecat, but I was thinking of one of the mink, marten, fisher, sable, etc. Basically the ones with luxurious/beautiful coats that are clever and can be really vicious, since that’s kinda her thing. The TFD analysis for American Pine Marten and American Mink fit pretty well.

I like your angst for Connor, and I don’t remember much of Eve, but snake seems right. And butterfly seems fitting for Harmony (both personality and like you said about Cordelia not realizing she turned).

Fred: Yeah most of my picks are really more from mental images/gut feelings so I can understand. I just don’t like Gulls because they’re so common (which Fred is definitely not), don’t seem very smart, seem kinda mean, greedy, opportunistic, and they always run away when confronted. The only reason I picked raccoon is because I was trying to think of something intelligent and resourceful and cuddly (I really like your idea of Bobby being one). I don’t particularly like primates either, and the little I looked at the proto-primates seemed wrong.

……….. But then (while looking for a dae for Darla) I read the TFD analysis for a Sable and I almost flipped a table because it described Fred perfectly. I really want to be happy that I found a mammal to describe her, but she does not give off a weasel vibe at all. Argh, but I really wasn’t exaggerating when I said it fit her perfectly. I can’t imagine anything else matching her so well.

Oh gosh, it’s been a while since I watched Buffy all the way through (re-watching it now with my little bro, but we’re only in the beginning of season 3, and it’s rather slow going), I don’t remember all the minor characters so well.

Joyce: idk, Joyce is such an amazing character though, so I really want to think of one for her. But she’s more than just Buffy’s Mom (although she was freaking amazing at being her Mom), so I don’t want to just go for some sort of nurturing/motherly dae.

Jenny: I’m kinda thinking of some sort of bird, or maybe a proto-primate, or maybe even a feline (idk, something)

Dru: I like song bird for her. Something fitting of her craziness, and the fact that she was this nice, kind, fragile young thing before Angelus pushed her over the edge.

Kendra: Oooh, I like the Jaguarundi. She was only trained to be detached, but after associating with Buffy for a while, she realized that emotions did make Buffy a better Slayer. And I think that if she had lived longer she would have started thinking more for herself, and maybe that all slayers have that spark of fiery passion in them and the Jaguarundi would be much more representative of her true nature rather than the one that was forced on her. (I may have ventured into BS territory there, it’s 4:30 am… so I can’t really tell the difference right now)

Amy: I like your idea of her melding with her dae

Instead of characters I don’t know as well, here are a few more I randomly thought of:

Ethan: Fox, maybe a Coyote, but I prefer a Fox

Snyder: Frog

Mayor: He sold his soul to get immortality which I assume means he gave up his dae? But I like to think it would have been a Snake and that his ascension tied into that. (Also why I love Faith being a Mongoose so much. Besides the whole scrappy badass fighter, they’re mortal enemies of snakes. So her teaming up with the snake-y mayor would really emphasize just how far she’d fallen).

Groosalugg: Some sort of Mastiff

Hmmm Lorne. Lorne. He’d definitely be something flashy. But I don’t think a parrot is a good fit. They tend to, well Parrot other people and that’s pretty much the opposite of what Lorne does. But really, any tropical/fabulous bird that likes to sing would go well for him (although for some reason I could also see him having a flamingo).

so gonna come right out and say that some of these had me making embarassing squee noises

Buffy: I'm just really stuck on her dae sob. I'm going to have everyone perfectly sorted and I won't be able to write squat because I'm missing the main character. This shouldn't be so hard, there's mustelids and viverrids for small carnivores, and in the "different" department there's bats and marsupials. Basically anything else just doesn't feel anywhere near right.

ok quick question is Buffy an extrovert or an introvert? Beacsue she starts off as an extrovert but season 5 onwards she's more introverted. And true you can chalk it up to post-resurrection being an unhealthy state, but season 7 gives me more the feel that it;s because she's come to accept being the Slayer. It's like Buffy an extro and the Slayer's an intro but ??? ARGH

Angel: oh thank god I'm not nuts! \o/

Doyle: nooooo Watership Down feels ;A; But hm, because I can sort of see it. It's just with rabbit!Willow and hare!Wesley that might be a lot of lagos. Although you're thinking more rabbit!Doyle and dog!Wesley and I'm thinking more dog!Doyel and hare!Wesely...

Wesley: oh ouch Wes feels too. But yeah I don't know because I keep imagining his dae a lot like Hester and ouch. If I were to look at domestic dogs, I'd have no idea where to start. Not working dogs or small dogs or terriers... Corgi seems to be too energetic for calm and collected Wesley. oh hey wait what do you think of Irish wolfhound?

Lindsey: See cuz I read a jackal analysis and it didn't fit so I was sad. But when you but it that way, it really does seem to fit really well. Plus it makes a great visual :D (and just as added lulz: I want to give her a name fitting in with the Norse god Tyr, the god of war and justice. And then laugh at the irony that Angel who is a wolf dae takes off his hand ah ha ha ha)

Lilah: I feel like she's probably a domestic cat? Because I think she's too laid back to be a wild type. Wild cats are tense when people encroach on their space because they compete for resources, but a domestic cat wouldn't always worry because they could just think "I'm king of the house and no one can take my place", which fits better with Lilah's calm approach to dealing with Lindsey and Gavin rather than going for an outright attack to take them out.

Darla: Hm ok so in your weasely weasels you have 3 types. Mink are swimmers. They're vicious, but they go with the flow. Polecats are diggers. They chart their own path and aren't afarid of getting dirty. Martens are climbers. They're not as vicious and sorta birdy in the way that they have their heads in the clouds. I think I like mink the least because Darla's not one to go with the flow. She chose to be a vampire. Martens don't make me think "super aggressive" (and darla could be a bitch), but I like them because Angel did say she always liked a view.

Connor: God I am going to be so mean to Angel when he first sees grown-up!Connor. Because he was a baby and his dae was shifting between cute floppy forms and now he's all grown up and he's just like his dad ah ha ha ha

Fred: oh damn you're right, sable is perfect. But damn I cannot see Fred as a mammal, she's such a bird. Her and Luna would get on so well because Ravenclaws/bird souls and oh. Oh! ... So I looked at forms people suggested for Luna and I got hoatzin and hummingbird. I think I'm still more partial to some sort of water-related bird but what do you think?

Joyce: That is my exact problem, I don't want to be just like "Buffy's mom", but she does a damn fine job at it. Some characters feel like their only personality is to be a parent, but Joyce just is a parent. argh. I honestly don't know where to start, mammal I think?

Jenny: See the only thought I really had was cat but idk, especially if Lilah's also a cat. I think bird could work well, but I'm not sure about primate-y things... they don't really mesh with the magic vibe in my mind.

Dru: Not sure about what type of bird tho. I do however remember reading a sparrow analysis that reminded me of Spike and a friend of Willow... so basically when provoked, sparrows can be nasty little buggers XD

Kendra: I honestly dunno bout jaguarundi, I just saw pics on Tumblr once and though hey this would be a good dae form and then Kendra gives me small wild cat vibes so *shrugs* So really not sure about which cat fits best. (but I do like your little analysis~)

Ethan: Damn I totally forgot about him whoops but yes! Fox would fit really well. I was thinking fox for Jesse but that might just be my retroactive bias from watching his actor in Haven (fox!Duke) :'D

Snyder: huh I have no idea on what a general frog analysis is (aside from big changes between childhood and adulthood) and the sparate ones are all prett different. I know I wouldn't pick rat. Something nosy, so something with a good sense of smell? I'm getting vibes all over the place though. I can see a bird constantly ruffling it's feathers in irritation, a small mammal being all sneaky, and some reptile or amphibian just being weird. urgh

Wilkins: Snake! yes! Maybe he could still have her thoug? Like souled vamps have the soul (conscience) without the dae, maybe he's the opposite? Because otherwise I don't see much of a way to bring his dae's form into the fic. It's easy enough to brush off his lack of dae seeing as he only ever seems to be surrounded by people who know he's not quite human. (AHHH the Faith/Mayor = mongoose/snake thing help I want to be able to actually write this fic already I just get so irrationally happy thinking about all these things)

I'm reminded of a headcanon I saw in the HDM tag ages ago but didn't reblog because I didn't want too read it beyond skimming because I was afraid of spoilers. But the person posted about how the Wolfram & Hart employees' daes could be wearing collars to show how their souls are owned by W&H~

Groo: I like the idea of big big doggy, but something also with a rather sweet temperment. Great danes are big mushballs, but they're too mushball-y. Bullmastif could work. (just imagine him seeing her for the first time XD)

Lorn: Oh man so many flash birds, and I dunno where to start. Something medium-largish, nothing small and nothing huge. Holy wow tho, greater flamingo kinda fits really well...

Ben: dunno, just know that when he switches with Glory, his dae poofs away and comes back when he's in control, and when he starts getting more control closer to the ceremony his daemon stays more and more corporeal even when Glory's in control

Alright, I agree 5000% with most of the ones you listed. So I’ll just comment on ones you seemed unsure about and the ones (well one) I disagreed with.

Buffy: This will be a little biased (fav animal), and I didn’t really see one that fit on TDF, but omfg BAT! I know you said fruit bat, but what about one of the Microbats? Misunderstood, spends the whole night getting rid of tons of pesty insects, acrobatic like woah, badass senses, and are very social animals.

Anya: Bird seems like a good fit for her, picking the right one however seems like a real pita.

Wesley: Oh my gosh, yes a dog. He starts out as a big floppy puppy that just wants to make everyone happy/do the right thing. And then everything goes wrong and he becomes this badass dog that will rip your arm off, but even then he’s ridiculously loyal and still just trying to do the right thing. And OMG, can you imagine how disappointed his father would be? I bet most of the watchers have owls, ravens, or primates and poor poor Wesley winds up with a dog.*so many Wesley feels*

Gunn: BOP and panther are both rather fitting (sorry, not helpful I know).

Your ideas for Lindsey, Lilah, and Darla are all perfect. No idea for Connor, Eve, or Harmony.

Fred: This is the only one I didn’t like at all. She doesn’t have much of an affinity for the water, and the fact that she’s awkward is such a minor aspect of her personality. But I have absolutely no idea what to give her. I can’t even decide between some kind of small mammal, a primate, a raccoon, or maybe a non BOP or waterfowl bird (and I’d have no idea which one to pick because there are just so many to pick from). So yeah, I’ll either have to do some massive reading or wait for you to come up with another brilliant idea that I like.

So you think almost all the BtVS characters I listed were good? :D I'm always worried I got too attached to some forms before giving a chance to find better fits @___@

Buffy: There is just so much irony in bats because while they are usually associated with vampires, vamps are more like the moquitos that bats eat ehe~ Thing is that I like the idea of Slayers having medium-large daes because I see them actually being able to help their person fight. If a vamp has no soul then the taboo doesn't apply :D I didn't really look at all the bats, but if you find one that fits, let me know. I just really want to stay away from big animals for Buffy, she's def a mammal but I can't see her with the popular lioness or horse :/ I think she needs something "different"...

Anya: I made a list of birds that could maybe aesthetically and geographically fit? Becasue I think she'd have something weird looking but that has to be known in Scandinavia in the 1000's (so like no parrots)... Woodpecker, ptarmigan, mockingbird, puffin, heron, goose, skua...

Angel: I've seen people suggest big cats and BOPs, but I feel like I can make a btter case for wolf with all his personalities...

Doyle: I looked at hedgehog buy it didn't really fit... I think I need to rewatch S1 at some point. All I can think of is maybe a small-medium dog? Like a beagle?

Wesley: Oh man oh man now I'm getting feels ;___; And digging around on TDF I found suggestions for lagomorphs and I think I might also like the idea of hare (when I compare him to Lee Scoresby I think it could work). And yes yes yes! You picked up on my vague idea that most watchers would have birds (it's a bird soul/Ravenclaw similarities thing). I kinda like it also because the Watcher's dae would be able to scout around and keep and out on their Slayer.

Gunn: aw hell You know what, leopard/panther actually fits pretty well so I can roll with the idea of the Conduit taking the shape of a panther on purpose because of Gunn's dae. Now the question is: melanistic leopard or regular leopard and the Conduit picked a melanistic one to play Gunn's shadow/darkside?

Honestly I have no idea what I was doing for Lindsey, Lilah and Darla XD I do think Lindsey might be a wild type of dog, he's got the sarcastic sort of humour, but he'd have to be something solitary because he's really not loyal. I just sorta threw in cat for Lilah because I suck at picking up on domestic cat vibes so I have no idea. Darla as a weasel was a random thought one day I think polecat sorta fits?

I really don't know for Connor but I kinda like the irony of him being so much like his dad that they have similar dae's (not that he'd know because he'd never see Angel's dae but Angel would know ah ha ha angst). Although maybe not an outright wolf, but something really close. We don't get a lot of Eve's personality but I think there's enough to maybe go with snake? Same with Harmony, and her having a small dae could brush off why Cordelia didn't clue in she'd been turned, small dae's could easily hide.

Fred: It's not so much that I want an awkward bird because of her personality, it's more because I just got this mental image once and it sorta fit? Plus gulls are really good at adapting and surviving so that palys in to her ability to survive in Pylea for 5 years... But I never actually looked at any analyses orz I'm horrible at sorting for primates because I have a bias against them (not a fan of monkeys and then looking at them in terms of daes was certainly not helped by the golden monkey yeesh *shivers*), but I think maybe some sort of lemur or loris could work? One of the proto-primates maybe. I would have to say no to racoons because I am really attached to Bobby being a racoon. He's one of the few SPN characters I've sorted and the analysis fits really well.

Other characters I skipped over because I really have no idea or they're pretty minor-ish:

Joyce: no clue

Jenny: also no clue

Drusilla: I'm thinking some small passerine? Possibly a songbird?

Kendra: Small wild cat, maybe something like a jaguarundi? Or maybe a BOP because of how detached she is?

Amy: I think rat fits her personality, and I can explain away her ability to take on a rat form for 3-4 years by it being a sort of melding with her dae (whereas when Buffy got tuned into a rat, her dae remained separate from her).

Warren: I am awful at this but maybe an insect? Something that doesn't have a hive mentality.

Jonathan: no clue

Kennedy: I'm thinking a medim wild cat like an ocelot, serval or margay?

Gavin: no clue

Holtz: I think I like some smallish BOP like a falcon or hawk?

Gwen: no clue

Knox: I was thinking maybe primate, some sort of New World monkey?

Nina: no clue either

Oh also! Lorn! I can't decide whether he just doesn't have a daemon (he'd have some sort of equivalent, just no physically manifested animal) or whether his daemon physically manifested when he came to this dimension, in which case I'm thinking some sort of flashy parrot or parakeet.

this is a thread I had going with Knacc and expalins how I got to some of the ideas below

Buffy: Honestly no really good idea. TDF like horse but I don't like using big forms for corporeal daemons, plus I really can't see it. I like viverrids (palm civet, linsang or genet) or flying foxes, but I know they don't really fit... Damn Buffy's actually pretty hard to sort because of how different she is from the early seasons to the later seasons... One thing I'm sure of is Buffy having a female daemon to balance out her more "masculine" personality. (this daemon AU is basically an exercise in meta and character analysis)

Dawn: Knacc once suggested magpie and I think it's really stuck. It works for her kleptomania issue and later fits with my Watcher!Dawn headcanon where instead of shiny things, it's knowledge she now picks at.

Willow: Right away liked the idea of rabbit and the European rabbit analysis seems to fit really well.

Xander: Big floppy dog! Thinking possibly lab or gelden retriever.

Giles: Some medium-bigish owl, European-native. Possibly one with ear tufts?

Spike: Corviiiiid I just haven't decided specifically which type... Thinking between crow and scrub jay. Also has a samesex daemon.

Faith: I think mongoose sorta fits? Plus it works as a nice symmetry if Buffy has a viverrid form.

Anya: The furthest I can get is "bird", and it would be a colourful and loud bird, but it has to be native to Scandinavia/Europe.

Riley: Working/police dog, it's just too bad there aren't many that are American breeds (australian shepard looks too fluffy and TDF lacks an analysis). The belgian malinois works well though.

Tara: Decided she's a dove, but not sure which type.

Andrew: Probably a rodent, I just haven't really looked at the rodent analyses yet because I have no idea where to start. (I did look at squirrel but it didn't fit)

Robin: I'm thinking bird of prey (BOP), just no idea which. Although he could possibly be a largish feline?

Angel: Seems odd, but I actually think wolf could work really well? Angel's just really difficult because of how different the Liam/Angelus/Angel personalities are, but I think wolf might fit best overall. Especially when you look at how operating alone is so unhealthy for angel, like how lone wolves can't properly function.

Cordelia: Some small dog breed, I've seen cocker spaniel suggested.

Doyle: I really have no idea.

Wesley: I used to think small owl but not so sure anymore. Later seasons of AtS make me think possible a wild tylpe of dog?

Kate: I think german shepard works well.

Gunn: Maybe BOP, but I want to give the panther analysis a look...

Lindsey: Not sure, maybe jackal?

Lilah: Also not sure, maybe a cat?

Darla: I think I like some sort of small weasel.

Fred: I really like the idea of some awkward waterfowl or gull.

Connor: I'm horrible but I'm thinking wolf just like Angel.

Eve: I think I am far too attached to snake.

Harmony: Maybe a butterfly I really don't know.

But quick little bit of general info:

Slayer daes settle when they get called

vampires don't have souls so ergo no daes

souled!vamps have the conscience aspect of a soul, but not the physical manifestation of their dae (basically we only see a vamp character's dae when they were human)

some demons have daes (tend to be the ones that can crossbreed with humans), some have something similar (like the bears have their armor) and some don't have anything (Anya lost her dae when she was a demon both times)

If a character isn't mentioned it's because I probably only have the vaguest idea on mammal/bird/reptile/fish/insect division and nothing more so feel free to suggest whatever for whoever. Also feel free to ask me any questions about "world building" or whatever *flops over and rolls into bed* but yeah that'll be tomorrow *dead*
