Happy Valentine’s Day! (part two)

Here is the second part of my mixed-media Valentine's project! 

For the second illustration, it felt fitting to use Chandra this time around as one vintage tradition I found said that in Italy, you would give a key to the one you like to unlock your heart. Again, I’m not sure how accurate this is but as France has the Pont des Arts, a bridge filled with locks placed by lovers, and Twisted Wonderland also uses a key motif when summoning cards, I decided to go ahead with keys as a theme. I wanted to use some gold ribbon to add to that Valentine’s day feel but the lace worked a lot better to fit with the lattice pattern of the bridge I made. It was also a stroke of luck that I found some “antique” key charms to sprinkle around the page to tie in that key theme a bit more! 

I hope to post the illustrations by themselves later because I really wanted to discuss the outfits a bit more if I could, haha!
