you have to kind of want to kill the woman character you are posting about. I just realized what im trying to say is I wish that fandoms focused on female characters had more actual enjoyment/analysis of the characters instead of just hornyposting and mischaracterized yuri fluff. Took me a minute to find the words.

why are lesbians so bad at posting. Start talking about female charaters the way straight/bi women in fandom talk about male characters. I order it.

#TBC the yaoi side of fandom if we’re calling it that has this stuff too #But its more like 60% shipping hornyposting fandomisms and then 40% in depth character analysis and genuinely engaging w the source #Whereas it feels like with fandoms about female characters its 90% fandomisms and 10% genuine engagement with the characters and story #And i feel like also we’re maybe too aggressive about defending morally grey / sympathetic villain characters who are women #And especially if theyre lesbians/coded (COUGHS Caitlyn COUGHS Agatha COUGHS)#And this isn’t inherently bad. I love those characters and I do like going “ummm actually she did nothing wrong” bc its funny #But lord
