i love mertkaykay's videos she does such a good job of analysing how work (usually horror) screws up serious themes in a very constructive way that doesn’t just get mad at them for using those themes (which are completely fine and in fact very important to explore in a sensitive way) but breaks down why they were written in a way that doesn’t work.

#As someone who uses dark themes in my writing a lot it’s refreshing #Because I think it is important to handle them sensitively!#But people often bash that the themes exist at all and it’s very hostile to trauma survivors and stuff #instead of focusing on how to do them in a respectful way
