CBSE Compartment (Supplementary) Exams 2024: Key Information for Class 10 and 12 Students
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the datesheet for the compartment (supplementary) exams for Class 10 and 12 students who are unhappy with their scores in the main exams held earlier this year. The compartment exams will be conducted from July 15th to July 22nd, 2024.
Who can appear for the compartment (supplementary) exams?
Class 10: Students who failed in one or two subjects and passed all others are eligible. Students who passed but want to improve their scores in up to two subjects can also appear (improvement of performance category).
Class 12: Students who passed the main exams but want to improve their score in one subject are eligible (improvement of performance category). Passed students who failed in only one subject can also appear in the compartment exam to pass.

Exam Dates: July 15th to July 22nd, 2024
Number of Students Appearing: 1,32,337 (Class 10) & 1,22,170 (Class 12)

Exam Timings
Most Class 10 exams: 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM
Class 10 Computer Applications & IT: July 22nd, 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Class 12 (all subjects except listed below): July 15th, 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM
Class 12 (Hindustani Music, Painting, Dance subjects, Commercial Art, Yoga, AI): July 15th, 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Additional Points
The syllabus for the compartment exam is the same as the main exams held in March and April 2024.
Schools need to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) through the Exam Sangam link for students to participate in the exam.
Students will get 15 minutes of reading time before the exam begins, similar to the regular CBSE board exams.
Results
The CBSE board has not yet announced the date for the declaration of the compartment exam results. However, based on past trends, the results can be expected by the end of July 2024.

Failed in CBSE Class 10, 12 boards? Compartment exams to begin from July 2

CBSE Compartment Exam 2019: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the official circular for CBSE Class 10 and 12 compartment examinations. The students who could not clear their Class 10 and Class 12 CBSE board examinations in the first attempt, stand a chance to appear again in the papers through the CBSE compartment examinations. According to the board's official circular, the CBSE compartment examinations 2019 are scheduled to be held on July 2, 2019 at 4,974 centres across India. Students who appeared in the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 exams and are placed in the 'compartments' category, can again clear the CBSE board papers to save their year. Importantly, students who want to appear in the compartment examinations need to contact their respective schools to apply for the CBSE compartment exams.

According to the official circular, the process for the CBSE compartment exam has already begun and students concerned started to apply from May 13. The respective CBSE schools are going to submit the lists of students who are going to appear for the CBSE compartment exams by May 22. If students fail to apply for the compartment exams, then they will have to pay a late fee of Rs 300. The last date to apply with late fee is June 5. The late fee is Rs 1,000 till 29 May and after that the schools will levy a late fee of Rs 5,000.

Jul 22, 2022 14:50 IST New Delhi , July 22 (AF): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday congratulated all the students who have passed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 exams and urged them to follow their inner calling and pursue subjects they are passionate about. In a series of tweets, PM Modi hailed students and said they prepared for these exams during a time when humanity faced a monumental challenge and achieved this success. "Congratulations to all my young friends who passed the CBSE Class XII exams. The grit and dedication of these youngsters is commendable. They prepared for these exams through a time when humanity faced a monumental challenge and achieved this success," he said. The Prime Minister further said there are innumerable opportunities that await the young exam warriors, who passed the Class 12 exams. Earlier in the morning, the CBSE declared the Class 12 board results in which girls have outshined boys by 3.29 per cent. Girls outperformed boys with an overall pass percentage of 94.54 per cent, while boys secured 91.25 per cent. Over 33,000 students scored above 95 per cent, while 1.34 lakh got above 90 per cent. The overall pass percentage was 99.37 per cent in 2021 as compared to 92.71 per cent this year. A total of 1435366 students appeared for the exam of which 1330662 have passed. 92.71 per cent of students have passed the CBSE 12 board examination. Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala has recorded the highest pass percentage at 98.83 per cent followed by Bengaluru with 98.16 per cent, Chennai with 97.79 per cent, Delhi east and Delhi West with 96.29 per cent. However, Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj has recorded the lowest pass percentage at 83.71 per cent. Meanwhile, 4.72 per cent of students have been placed in the compartment. This year, the board conducted exams in two terms, that is, Term 1 and Term 2. 30 per cent weightage was given to Term 1 exams and 70 per cent weightage to Term 2. This year, the board will issue the merit certificate to 0.1 per cent of students who have scored the highest marks in the subjects. However, as per the earlier decision of the Board to avoid unhealthy competition amongst the students, no merit list will be declared. In this regard, it is also informed that Board is not awarding first, second or third division to its students.
