Info Jeunes Montbéliard organise avec le CCAS (Groupe Solidarité Emploi) de Montbéliard le Forum des jobs d’été et de l’alternance le mercredi 5 avril 2023 à la Roselière de Montbéliard de 10h00 à 17h00. Ce rendez-vous annuel permet d’accompagner les jeunes montbéliardais dans leur recherche d’un emploi pour les vacances estivales en rencontrant directement les responsables d’entreprises et d’associations, dans les secteurs du commerce, de l’aide à la personne, de la restauration, de l’animation… Les agences intérim seront également présentes. Les jeunes pourront également s’informer sur la mobilité internationale, le bénévolat, le service civique… Des ateliers ponctueront la journée : pratique linguistique, création de cv et lettre de motivation, « réalité virtuelle » et présence d’un coach en « confiance en soi / estime de soi » pour aider les jeunes à se préparer à passer des entretiens professionnels en toute sérénité. Le forum des jobs d’été du 13 avril 2022 a réuni 51 entreprises pour 1008 visiteurs. Le guide Trouver un job – guide de conseils et d’informations pratiques – sera à la disposition de tous les jeunes présents le jour du forum. 63 companies in Belgian province of Limburg receive certificate for sustainability policy

Limburg-based companies are increasingly following a sustainability trajectory, according to figures from Voka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Limburg. One of those companies is Power Tools Distribution[1] in Hoeselt.
More and more companies in Limburg are following a sustainability trajectory within the framework of the Voka Sustainable Entrepreneurship Charter[2](VCDO). Last year, 63 certificates were awarded to companies that have committed to applying the so-called Sustainable Development Goals[3] of the United Nations. In 2018, 14 Limburg companies received a certificate. In 2020 they were already 43.
The Sustainable Development Goals relate to 17 themes, such as decent work, poverty reduction, climate action, education, equal opportunities for all, sustainable production and consumption, clean and affordable energy and health care for all. “The influx doubled in recent years,” says Cathérine Dreesen of Voka Limburg. “Moreover, it is not a voluntary process. The trajectory runs over several years and is evaluated every year. It requires therefore a lot of effort.”
Action plan
More and more companies are interested in sustainability. "But they don't always have the know-how," says Dreesen. "Via the Voka Charter for Sustainable Entrepreneurship, they receive a tailor-made action plan and we provide them with the tools to subsequently map out a sustainability policy themselves, so that they can green and optimise their business operations."
There are three types of certificates: SDG Pioneer, SDG Champion and SDG Ambassador. Nine companies have already reached the Champion level, three of them are currently in the highest trajectory.
Figures from Voka Limburg show that one out of five companies in Limburg is planning sustainable investments. “The energy and inflation crisis have made companies realize that sustainable entrepreneurship not only saves costs, but also ensures better processes, products and leads to innovation,” says Cathérine Dreesen. “Employees also increasingly want to know whether a company is working on sustainability, so the theme is also becoming more important in attracting people. Moreover, it becomes an important criterion in the choice of supplier and customer. Finally, it is crucial to prepare for the upcoming mandatory sustainability reporting.”
Atlas Copco
One of the companies that can now call itself SDG Pioneer is Power Tools Distribution in Hoeselt[4], the logistics centre of Atlas Copco. “As part of Atlas Copco, we attach great importance to sustainability,” says general manager Kurt Andries. "We put this into practice with concrete action plans for reducing our local energy footprint, reducing CO2 emissions from transport and our sustainable packaging strategy."
As part of the Voka program for Sustainable Entrepreneurship, investments in Hoeselt included rainwater collection, so that external water consumption was reduced by 34 percent. In addition, energy consumption was reduced, packaging was optimized and multimodal transport was chosen.
"In this way we have succeeded in reducing our CO2 emissions by 60 percent compared to 2016," says Kurt Andries. The company invested more than a million euros in sustainability. Power Tools employs 250 people. There are twenty vacancies.
Within the SDGs, a lot of attention is also paid to social involvement. This was translated into activities related to lifelong learning, engagement in sustainable projects, general well-being and cooperation with sheltered workplaces. "In recent years, we have realised more than 30 different projects," says Kurt Andries. “Many small initiatives together make a big difference. By starting small, but on various fronts, we move forward step by step.”
