Every time I think of the Rise of the TMNT movie I get some kind of emotional response because how did they do that. How did they make a movie so full of angst. Like, look at the stuff it does:

- EVERYONE FUCKING DIES IN THE BEGINNING

- EVERYTHING about Casey

- "I'm the oldest. I'm responsible for keeping us safe, and making sure we can handle anything that comes our way. 'Cause if I don't, we could all end up dead"

- Raph's sacrifice scene

- All of the blood and general bodyhorror

- Raph getting Krang-ified and forced to attack his brothers (THAT WOULD BE LIKE HIS WORST NIGHTMARE???)

- Leo grappling with the fact that he killed everyone in the future

- The whole Leo Raph fight

- LEO's sacrifice

- CASEY being the one who's forced to lock Leo in there

- THE SCENE WHERE LEO GETS BEATEN NEARLY TO DEATH

- That good long scene where everyone thinks Leo is dead

Like literally how does this exist??? And how did they do all of it without it feeling like overly edgy torture porn. I've never watched anything that makes me feel the way that this movie does

So in one of the psychonauts servers im in I was talking abt the Doom family and how since the lipo doc mentions that her father found steady work and is considered a valuable employee there due to his precognition that Elka would probably end up being resented/hated for her abilities since it seems to be a pattern regarding the Doom family ( ie being loved/sought out and then resented/hated )

And someone mentioned that what if that’s why Elka is so dead set on getting a boyfriend so she’d have someone who wouldn’t resent her and now I’m like oog
