It's probably Mephistopheles being present in the background of the story, plus the fact that Durge and Gortash have been to Cania, but playing BG3 reminds me of Hordes of the Underdark, and reminds me that one of the delight of playing the other FR pc games and incorporating them into "your Realms" canon is that in mine Raphael gets a 3'2" svirfneblin "stepmother" to plague him.
