$12,500 Toyota Hiace Campervan Located in Auckland
We are selling our beloved Campervan Baloo, a long wheel base Toyota Highace from 1996. He is an automatic, rear drive and drives on petrol (ca 12L/100km). Sadly our time here in New Zealand has come to an end and now we are trying to find a new home for him, with owners that will love him as much as we do.
We bought Baloo in January 2017 and converted him into a self-contained camper van ourselves (I’m a certified carpenter).
After purchasing him we replaced the two front tires, brakes, suspension, exhaust, air filter and muffler as well as other maintenance like a break fluid flush etc and bought a new starter battery (530 CCA). So you will not have to worry about having to repair any of these during your travels through New Zealand. Baloo also does not have a cam belt but a timing chain, which means you will never have to worry about the cam belt breaking. We also did a oil change in the beginning of 2017 and afterwards never had to refill the oil again throughout the year.
During the conversion we completely insulated Baloo, including installing double glazing on all the windows. This meant that we lived comfortably in Baloo even during the winter in the South Island. For especially cold evenings and chilly mornings we bought a LPG heater (which we only needed to refill once in the whole year for ca 10$).
The double glazed windows also have the benefit of making Baloo more secure in regards to break ins. If somebody were to try to smash in a window they would not be able to get through the second layer as easily, because it is made out of plexiglass and does not shatter. For the further more general safety of Baloo we also bought a steering wheel lock, a small fire extinguisher and a LPG/gas detector.
The two rear windows as well as the one in the kitchen can be opened from the inside and are protected by extra fine mosquito nets which also keep a away sandflies.
We installed two solar panels on the roof (200 W) as well as a home batterie (deep cycle 100Amp) (which also chargers while Baloo is driving) and a converter. Which means you do not have to go without the luxury of electricity during your travels. With this system we had enough electricity to charge our two smartphones as well as our two laptops, cameras, kindles, power banks etc and turn on the lights in Baloo every single day all evening long all throughout the year and never had a problem.
We installed a kitchen in which you can comfortably cook inside the van or easily remove the stove and cook outside if you prefer.
Baloo is of course certified self contained (for two people, expire date: 2021) which means that we only paid for camping once the entire year and the rest of the time we were able to freedom camp all around the two islands.
The self-contained certificate also means that we equipped Baloo with a portable toilet (we will include a brand new and unused one) and 25L fresh and 25L grey water tanks.
We also installed three different table options in the van which you can set up with literally one movement (see pictures).
We deliberately decided against a foldaway bed that can be converted into a sofa, because we knew we would get tired of having to convert the bed every single morning and evening.
So we created a bed that is at a perfect height to sit on, not only to launch around but also sit up straight if you are working, reading, cooking, etc. We included removable sofa cushions at the head of the bed. So by setting up the cushions you can easily transform the bed into a giant sofa, much easier than if you would have to change the underneath structure of the bed every single morning and evening. Another benefit of this is that we created more storage space underneath the bed which can be very easily accessed from the inside as well as the outside.
For the lighting in Baloo we decided to go with warm fairy lights because they give the space a nice cozy feel and are bright enough to cook, read and watch movies. For the moments where you do want a brighter light we included a small magnetic lamp that you can move along the ceiling as you wish and that can be charged via USB.
All the windows in the back of the van have black out foil which means that from the outside nobody can look into the inside, but you have no problems looking out from the inside. For the nighttime we installed black out curtains which not only have the benefit of keeping the inside nice and dark (especially if you are camping in the city and there are streetlamp around), but also that from the outside you can not even see any silhouettes and you have complete privacy.
Of course Baloo comes with all the necessary kitchen equipment including two pots and a pan as well as everything else you need to cook and eat.
There is more than enough storage space under the bed and in the kitchen for all your things and more.
Baloo has driven ca 371,000km, which might seem like a lot, but the Toyota Hiace is famous for long lasting engines (there are some that have driven double than what Baloo has) that is why we choose him and we never had a single problem through out our long road trip.
We are selling him with a valid WOF (expire date: February 2018) and registration (expire date: February 2018).
We are currently still traveling and will be in Auckland in the early middle of November to sell Baloo. If you are interested please feel free contact us under 0hidden89 or hidden.

We have installed a second battery (leisure battery) which can be used for your appliances (laptop / camera etc) and has been a godsend for charging our devices when freedom camping in remote areas. We also have a spare powerbank that we will leave for you when you’re out in the bush :-P
We purchased Oobs in December 2016 from a couple who did an amazing refurb job turning him from a school bus into a unique home with lots of space!  He was made using a combination of quality recycled hardwood Rimu and brand new ply, every piece was sanded and oiled to make it beautiful. And, of course, there is a story behind every piece… Like the stunning wooden floor which was rescued from Christchurch demolitions, then sanded and coated in Beeswax and Linseed oil! Oh and a wonderful sink made out of a fruit bowl!
Oobs is fully self contained for 2, meaning you’re able to camp anywhere it says “Self Contained Vehicles Only”.  We have met so many people being fined $200 per night just for sleeping in their vehicle as they were not certified as self contained. However you would have the choice of stopping anywhere you like! The freedom is exhilarating  J
He has a full inside kitchen with a sink and a gas stove, designed to use where it is, with a full 3.5Kg gas bottle (This costs around $6 to fill depending where you are and lasts us 3 or 4 weeks). No pulling out from storage and cooking in the rain!! The fluffy stool gives you the perfect perch to prepare your meals.
Now the good stuff…. The boat :D  We brought our inflatable kayak with us from the UK and as having decided to continue our adventure onto South East Asia, sadly we’re unable to take it with us.  We purchased the Sevylor Madiason inflatable kayak new in July 2016 and have used it literally a handful of times so we can guarantee its worth!! The paddles and BA’s are not brand new but work as well. Same with the rash vests & water shoes.  To see how it works watch  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_lLEAJKpB4  We even offer a free 5 minute tutorial ourselves to show how damn easy it is to set up! J
Back to the van….. Ample storage space; four big 54Litre boxes under the bed, a full chest of drawers, a kitchen bench and shelving unit, a book shelf alongside the bed, a stylised top shelf, a spice shelf and baskets!
The bed is designed with an easy use extension giving you plenty of extra kitchen/lounge/floor during the day, and enough still when the bed is out. We’re both 5”11 and have never had a legroom issue. This design allows you to make the most of the space, like having ample room to sit on the fluffy stool to cook, or lounging on a rug on your wooden floor, watching the waves crash whilst drinking a cup of hot chocolate. Bliss J
During rainy nights - on the West coast predominately where sandflies can be rife we found the little buggers sneaking in all the windows and eating us alive. So we made some simple fly nets with magnets & tin window covers enabling us to have fresh air, no wet curtains & clothes, and certainly no sandflies. Genius invention :D
The price reflects the condition… bloody great! We have had the WOF pre-inspection this week and will be getting this certificate so it can be sold with 6 months. No worries for you. Tyres have loads of wear left on them too. Also just paid for 6 months REGO so its all up to date… till 6 months passes and its due again obviously.
To really appreciate this home from home, seeing is believing! We’re working in Kerikeri and will be driving to Auckland every other week for viewings.  If you are keen to go on an adventure with Oobs please contact Corrinne and Gerard by PM, whatsapp on 0211031987 (limited reception for calls) or email hidden

2002 Toyota Hiace 3.0L Diesel - Seats 6 Sleeps 2 Adults + 2-3 kids.
Currently in Gisborne, Can Meet in Auckland, Raglan or Hamilton from March 11th-18th.
$5500 ono 370140 km (these motors run forever) WOF till Nov 2017 Rego till Sep 2017
Automatic Long Wheelbase with High Roof Regular Maintenance Cam Belt Done at 306545 km, so plenty of kms left before even worrying about that. HUGE amount of storage under bed for Bags, Surfboards, Bikes, etc. Comes with Bedding and Camping gear if needed.
New to camper circuit. We bought this van 6 months ago and have driven it all over New Zealand (from the top to the bottom and back) with 5 of us (Dad, Mom & 3 boys) with absolutely no issues what-so-ever. This is an amazing van! Wish we could take it with us. If you are looking for a van that fits a small, young family, this is for you. We had a very hard time finding a van with enough room to fit our kids and their child seats, and all our stuff, so we ended up buying a people mover and getting rid of the seats and added a queen size bed in the back. We also made a small bunk bed that can be set up pretty easily to sleep up to two kids. Tons of storage under the back bed to fit surfboards, and all your bags.
Don’t need the extra seats??? No problem. They un bolt super easy and add more room for a small table, lounge, etc. Bed can be removed permanently for work van, etc.
Message me on Facebook, whatsapp (+64 27 hidden), DM me on instagram @ourwildandfreefamily, or text/call 027 hidden (NZ) or hidden if you are calling from the USA. Happy to answer any questions. Please leave a message if I don’t answer and I will get back to you ASAP.

We only paid for camping 3 times in our 3 months, this has saved us a fortune and has been a lovely way to get around!
Used but very well kept and in a very good condition. The van is from 1989, has 380xxx km and got a new alternator and a new water pump in 2016. Speaking to mechanics about the vehicle they say it's not uncommon to see these vehicles reach over 500,000 Km as long as they have water and oil they run amazing. This has had very regurlar engine maintenance and has given us no issues in our 3 months! Ready to give another couple and epic vacation!

$6,300 Toyota Hiace Campervan Located in Auckland
In Auckland from 11 of February.
Hey lovely people (maybe future owners of Allan)!
Yeah you got that right, Allan is the name of this lovely van. He is strong and big but still so cuddly, what more can you ask for?
 Top 1 low milage: only 215 000km
Top 2: We are the second couple camper with him. It has been kept nice and tidy!
Top 3: He has personality. I promise. If I could I would take him home.
Top 4: He has 4 moon roofs. Not kidding you, 4 of them. Beautiful starsky!
Top 5: Fully equipped. You would not need to add anything except food and make new memories along the roads.
Top 6: Engine running smooth. Brand new battery!
Top 7: Tinted windows
Top 8: Good storage abilities under bed and in back.
So to some more interesting details for you guys. Allan is a:
- Black Toyota Hiace 1996
- Three seater ( 5 seats if you want to put the bench back)
- Automatic
- Diesel
- Engines size 3000cc turbo
- Tinted windows
- WOF until May 17
- Rego until 15.02.17 (cost ~100$ for three months)
- New big battery jan-17, former one to small for a diesel van.
- Power steering.
- 2 wheel drive.
We include a full bottle of cooling liquid from the first owners, we haven't been needing it.
When the interior was built it was made to be able to take it all out and redo it if they want. So it's easy to take the bed and kitchen out. All buildt with light weight wood.
The bed is a single bed with 4 wardrobes underneath (you can easily lift up the plywood that is split in to two parts). Allan also converts into a double bed if you want to sleep two people inside (ownersbefore us slept three!). Or you can take the seat out and throw in another bed.
The bed is built so you can sit on top of it (as in a livingroom)  without your head touching the ceiling. My husband is 1.90 cm and he was comfortable. With the table on the bed and us sitting around it, it turned out to be a awesome card area in the evening.
The kitchen includes all stuff you will need and gascooker. A extra chopping area is attached to the kitchen bench.
There are curtains around the windows. There is a big box in the back that fits all the cooking equipment.
Other details; you get a queen size blanket, 5 pillows, 3 chairs, table, a big coolingbox,  spices, solar lamps and so so much more.
So that was Allan. I would say he fits everyone, a lone traveller, couples, triplets, couple + third wheel or any other combination.
Asking price is 6300 or nearest offer.  For more info just call or text 0hidden92
Or email hidden (slower answer this way).
Hope to hear from you Elli, Olof and Sigge
