I haven’t had the time to draw digitally for the past week or so, but I have been doodling quite a bit on notebooks and papers in class :) have some Adrien, chat, Marinette, and Felix

The reason why ladybug lied to the world about Gabriel helping her defeat monarch was for a few reasons.

To "protect" Adrien from the truth

To actually protect Adrien from people accusing him of knowing his father was Monarch but doing nothing or worse willingly working with him. Which could threaten his safety

Would have been extremely difficult to explain away Gabriel coincidentally dying the same day Monarch was defeated without the implication that he was monarch, especially with the public being aware that the alliance Rings were involved in Monarch's final battle

The whole point of Season 4 was that Ladybug had to learn to stop keeping secrets from her allies, so why is it now okay for her to keep a huge secret from her boyfriend of all people? And you say it like Adrien doesn't have friends and family who can help him cope with his emotions and grow as a person.

So the public wouldn't even buy Ladybug's explanation that Adrien wasn't an accomplice for Monarch, even though she's in good graces with pretty much everyone in the world?

There were plenty of other ways to cover up Gabriel's death, like saying he was caught in the crossfire, or he was crushed by debris. Hell, just say Monarch was able to hack into the Alliance ring system behind Gabriel's back to tie up that loose end.

what i love about the oblivio episode is that its everything i wanted the show to be. ladybug and chat noir working in equal parts like the yin and yang instead of the spotlight always being on ladybug. Adrien isn't dumbed down and contributes a lot throughout the episode.

marinette not tripping all over the place (once or twice is fine) and she's able to speak normally to him. She's smart and brave while being marinette so it doesnt feel out of character when she's like that as ladybug. it feels like a natural enhancement.

while adrien is very charming and confident which leans towards him being as over the top as the usual chat noir. he is just as assertive of marinette's/ladybug's intelligence as chat noir. so that feels natural too.

This episode explores both ships adrienette and ladynoir and does a really good job. the reason being it's the most similar to marichat without being marichat. This is their progression as their true selves at the core without any masks or secret identity nonsense.

and somebody on youtube said that it feels like a post-apocalyptic episode and I love it because it really does. This episode is really about their natural chemistry. we don't even see nino and alya get akumatized but who cares!

The cat's meow!

So I started watching Miraculous Ladybug near the end of last year! I didn't fully get at first why people were so into this show, until I got to the episode with the umbrella scene where Adrien and Marinette first met, and the concept stuff and potential of this series made me get hooked.

I like this hero(?) magical boy(?) design a lot.

Since I also grew up on a ton of magical girl series and saw a lot of magical cat themed boys and girls back then as a kid too, I felt quite nostalgic by this.

Claws on the gloves, big cat bell, belt as a cat tail and really animated expressions. I love it! So this and that and this and that, I drew it and feel quite happy with it now.

The colours were quite different before I made a blue exclusion filter on it, I am not sure which one I like the most honestly.
