There a few things to look for during an attic insulation inspection and most of them have to do with ventilation. Bathroom fans need to be vented outside the home so that the heat and moisture don’t end up in the attic. Additionally soffit vents need to be clear so that air can move through the soffit vent and up through roof cans or a ridge vent. When roof cans and the ridge vent are buried under a foot of snow (like right now) excess heat from an under insulated attic transfers from the living space below up into the attic and with the upper vents being blocked it prevents the air movement is stagnant so heat builds up and causes snow melt. The snow melt then runs down the roof and refreezes once it gets to frozen gutters. Consequently the additional moisture in the attic makes the roof sheeting prone to mold or mildew and eventually rot. Typically, if you have cellulose, you don’t need to worry about mold or moisture because it contains a detergent that makes it mold, mildew, fire, and pest resistant. In some instances water is actually added to cellulose to do a wet blow for walls in new construction. The same is not true for fiberglass and because of the porous nature of fiberglass, mold spores actually spread quicker. If your fiberglass get wet it needs to be removed and replaced. The attic space above the insulation should be close to the same temperature as outside the home and ventilation plays a huge part in moisture prevention. #attic #atticinsulation #cellulosefiber #celluloseinsulation #greenfiber #spokanerealtor🏡 #spokanewashington #spokanereal #spokane #realtorspokane #realtorspokanehousehunter #spokaneassociationofrealtors #spokanehomebuildersassociation #spokanehomeinspector #spokanewa #spokanevalley #spokanerealestate (at Spokane, Washington) https://www.instagram.com/p/CmkEcKMPDkx/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Strictly cellulose That’s all we use and I love it. Such a great product. So little embodied energy. That’s important when making big material decisions. Pests don’t like it so they stay out of attics and cavities. Important when building homesteads. #cellulose #insulation #celluloseinsulation #blown #jovickbuilt_lb #jovick #jovickbuilt #contractor #generalcontractor #construction #newconstruction #remodels #residential #commercial #home #homebuilding #homebuilder #customhomes #custom #leed #usgbc #earthadvantage #netzero #oregon #roguevalley #ashland #carpentry #finehomebuilding #homestead #homesteading https://www.instagram.com/p/B8aNjLWAUc8/?igshid=cyacjeieo562

Cell-u-lose Good Times, C’mon!
Tumblr media
One of the most exciting revisions we made to Dave’s Home’s original construction details has been the decision to veto the Devil’s Cotton Candy (aka fiberglass batt insulation). Instead of donning head-to-toe protective clothing to save ourselves from itchy glass fibers, we were able to watch as skilled contractors from Central Alabama Insulation quickly sprayed in cellulose insulation.
Tumblr media
Cellulose insulation, made from about 80% recycled paper, was blown into the cavities of our stick-framed wall with a long hose and a nozzle with water added as a bonding agent. We decided to use cellulose instead of fiberglass or foam, because the combined cost and R-value were more efficient than other insulation options.
Tumblr media
After putting up some mesh over each cellulose-filled bay, we were able to prevent any cellulose from falling out as well as create a smooth layer for drywall to lay on top of. Later this week, Shane Price will come in and nail, tape, mud, and sand our drywall into place.

Please enjoy this photo of our site at sunrise!

FREE CELLULOSE FIBER ROOF INSULATION
New Post has been published on https://roofinsulations.co.za/cellulose-fiber-roof-insulation/
FREE CELLULOSE FIBER ROOF INSULATION#CelluloseFiberRoofInsulation, #CelluloseInsulation, #PupedInRoofInsulation, #RoofInsulation, #SprayInRoofInsulation
Anyone in need for Free Cellulose Fiber Roof Insulation please give us a call. Roof Insulation Cape Town removes loads of Cellulose Insulation from homes in the Western Cape region. We would not recommend installing this old Cellulose Fiber Roof Insulation in your home. However, it would be ideal for someone that needs to use the old paper as a binder. Unfortunately, because of all the chemicals in the paper insulation, we can only dump this insulation product at a hazardous chemical dump site. Obviously this cost money and time.  So if you are a business that has a need for this finely shredded paper insulation you are welcome to collect.

Obviously this cost money and time.  So if you are a business that has a need for this type of paper give us a call and you are welcome to collect.
Roof Insulation Western Cape are installers of only roll-form roof insulation products. In order for homeowners to install the roll form insulation, we need to remove the cellulose insulation.
We Remove Cellulose Fiber Roof Insulation With A Massive Roof Vacuum Machine
Roof Insulation Cape Town has a large vacuum machine that removes cellulose insulation. In fact, the roof vacuum machine stands outside of the home and the large vacuum pipe goes through the roof.
This machine sucks out all the cellulose including all rats that might have nested in the insulation. Any additional roof dust will be removed at the same time.
What is Cellulose Fiber Roof Insulation?
In fact, cellulose fiber roof insulation is finely shredded newsprint paper with a chemical compound of up to 25%. Is the Cellulose insulation as effective as normal roof insulation types?
The answer to this would be yes. If the product could be pumped in at the correct thickness across the entire roof space. However, this is not really possible as one relies on the human eye to be sure of the correct thickness.
The chemical compound in the cellulose is mostly fire retardants and rat poison or chemicals to reduce the impact of rats nesting in the finely shredded paper dust insulation.
Why are Homeowners Removing Cellulose Insulation?
In most cases, Cellulose Fiber Roof Insulation is removed because of water damage. In fact, because the cellulose is mostly fine dust paper. As you can imagine fine paper will absorb water if your home has a roof leak. This is not a good thing to happen. If there is a substantial amount of water falling onto the insulation this will end up with a ceiling collapse.
This is not a good thing to happen if there is a substantial amount of water falling onto the insulation this will end up with a ceiling collapse. In fact, water leak damage. And the fact that the paper will often shift to other parts of the home depending on the wind strength.
Other reasons seem to be allergy related. Coastal winds, as well as moisture, are a problem. As many homeowners need to have this removed in order to install Roll form insulation products like Aerolite Roof Insulation and Isotherm Roof Insulation.
Please note this is not a cellulose fiber bashing post. Rather this post is to find a solution. Hopefully, we can find a company that maybe be able to use this product rather than dumping. Recycling of anything is important and this is sad to see so much paper being dumped. If there is a way to use this cellulose that will be great.

We got to meet this angel of a border collie on a job we were doing for an Inland Power customer out about 10 miles south of Cheney. The home was built in 1947 and like most homes built in the time period it had just under 3” of fiberglass batt. We installed an additional 11” of Green Fiber blow in Sanctuary cellulose to just above an R49. Eligible Inland Power, Avista, Modern, Vera and Kootenai Electric Cooperative customers receive a rebate up to $2.30/sq ft so in some cases the insulation project is completely paid for by the power company. Call Pacific Insulation at 509-879-0496 for a free estimate or visit our website at insulationspokane.com for more information. #spokaneinsulation #insulationspokane #inlandpower #avistautilities #insulationrebate #spokanewashington #spokanehomebuildersassociation #spokanehba #spokane #homeownership #energyefficiency #bordercollie #celluloseinsulation #greenfiberinsulation (at Cheney, Washington) https://www.instagram.com/p/CmRuE_ppi45/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

John is heading up into the attic with the hose after installing baffles for the soffit vents. This home in Suncrest was built in the mid-90’s and the insulation depth was about 7” of blown cellulose which equates to about an R25. We added an additional 7” of Green Fiber’s premium Sanctuary cellulose to increase it to an R50 which should keep the heat out of the attic and the icicles off the front of the house. If you’d like us to take a look at your attic and just let you know what’s going on up there, give us a call and we’ll take a look at your situation and let you know so you can make an informed decision. #spokaneattic #atticinsulation #spokaneinsulation #insulationspokane #blowncellulose #celluloseinsulation #fiberglassinsulation #greenfiber #pacificinsulation #cdainsulation #sanctuarycellulose #icicles #icedams (at Spokane, Washington) https://www.instagram.com/p/CmNOGgTvI1z/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
