and here's my last doll purchase of the year! at least he'd better be, I've already got to rearrange the shelves to make room for what's already come in.
anyway, this is a minifee spring 2017 head on a fairyline altis body. the fit isn't perfect, but it works. I'm thinking of going with a carnival/circus theme for this guy. he's got one hand perfect for holding a fancy cane, and I think he'd look cute with a tailcoat.

OC: Diana, aka Dani
Dani is a typical case of 'OC outgrew doll-form". So, she'll be reshelled! Her new form will, hopefully, be here within a few months. I still adore the Miyu sculpt though, very much so. So I'm definitely keeping this doll :)

~ Willow ~
Willow is the ranger of the Vert-Bolet Forest, as well as the guardian of the Gate to "L'entre-Monde". No doubt she will be around if you pass by, talking to the trees or smoking her pipe, her nose in the wind. Willow is friendly, very gentle, and curious about the world around her and its inhabitants. It was her love of nature and the flora and fauna of her world that pushed her to become a forest ranger, a mission that makes her very happy. She lives in a house near the hamlet of Vert-Bolet, on the edge of the forest. In addition to her mission as a forest ranger, she also enjoys cultivating her vegetable garden, picking berries, herbs, mushrooms... She is also an herbalist, a talent that could not be more important when it comes to creating remedies, concoctions and other poultices for sick or injured forest animals. She also likes to cook pies and tarts for her friends, or for visitors from other worlds who come to venture into the Vert-Bolet forest.

Earthborn Shepard who still had the gang tattoos.
Earthborn Shepard who woke up on Miranda's lab table and shrugged on the armor fitted for their exact proportions in a hurry to get out of the Cerberus station.
Earthborn Shepard who, when finally looking into a mirror on the SR2 Normandy, finds nothing but bare skin.
And if they'd ask about it from Miranda she'd explain, "We were meant recreate them, but thanks to Wilson we ran out of time."
How would that feel? Which is worse, the fact that enough of Shepard had to be replaced even their skin isn't original anymore, or the fact that there is a timeline where Shepard would have looked into a mirror and seen their tattoos, and maybe thought they're a little off? A little too bright and fresh in colors, and were the lines always so thick? But unable to really determine what's wrong for sure.

I thought I posted this here ages ago, but I couldn't find it to link in another post I'm working on, so I'm posting it now!
Regardless of everything else surrounding the First SOLDIER battle royale game, I'm always going to be delighted that the timeline established in its opening cutscene indicates that Hojo and Lucrecia were experimenting on Vincent for around seven years before Lucy ran off and Hojo put him in the box.
See, the thing that's always bothered me about the known timeline of Vincent's life as it existed up until this cutscene dropped is that it kind of implied that Hojo did all his scientific body horror work in about two months, and then Lucrecia took over and spent a couple months on her part. This is...utterly ridiculous, for so many reasons, not the least of which is Shalua being aware of Lucrecia's work with Chaos having subjects, which it didn't prior to Grimoire's death—this project wouldn't have been ongoing long enough for Shalua to refer to "subjects" in Dirge if it was only a couple months of work.
The implication with the timeline shown in the FF7FS opening is that Lucrecia and Hojo both moved to Project 0 after their part of Project S was complete, presumably leaving Gast with Sephiroth while they tried to make superhumans that would be deployable sooner than a literal baby. We know it's post-Jenova Project, because Hollander is there but Gillian isn't, so she's already in Banora with baby Angeal. The team is shown working on Project 0 until around 1984, with Lucrecia present.
Hojo working on Vincent for a year or two while Lucrecia first gives birth to Sephiroth and then recovers from that whole ordeal makes sense. Him going back and forth between Midgar and Nibelheim trying shit on Vincent that he thinks might work on Project 0 also makes sense, given that we know Hojo's work on Vincent was eventually repurposed for a couple of the Tsviets, who are the current iteration of what Project 0 originally was.
When Vincent's body finally gives out, Hojo just kinda leaves him there, changing his focus entirely to Project 0, while Gast still has Sephiroth. Lucrecia comes back to Nibelheim at that point, for whatever reason, and picks up where Hojo left off, trying desperately to do something to keep from being responsible for killing both Valentines.
Gast leaves the company in 1984, whereupon Sephiroth is moved into Hojo's care—not Lucrecia's—and we can assume that Project 0 as a whole is shuffled.
This is the point where Lucrecia reaches the end of her rope. She's never going to get to meet her son, she's never going to get anywhere in this damn company, she's still so sick from the Jenova infection she contracted during her pregnancy. She can't do this anymore. So she dresses Vincent up like his dad (because his eyes look just like his father's), puts on a wedding dress she never got to wear, and leaves forever.
Hojo comes back to Nibelheim, possibly looking for Lucrecia—he either finds her "dead," or he only finds Vincent. Either way, Lucrecia ends up in the Nibel Mountains and Vincent ends up in the basement. With nothing left to lose and nothing holding him back, Hojo proceeds to track across the planet to find Gast and shoot him in the face.
This is a much better story.
This also explains why the official Dirge guide says that Vincent was asleep in the basement for, very specifically, 23 years, and why all Ultimania material cites that he was in the coffin for "over 20 years" even though he was shot to death 30 years ago. It's not a retcon. It never was. It's a clarification.
Vincent was killed in 1977, 30 years before Cloud found him during the Crisis. But he was under the knife and in the tubes for seven years after that, until the two equally brilliant psychopaths trying for opposing reasons to make him into Something Else finally gave up and put him in a box.
That's fantastic.

When the malleus keys were first introduced, I noted that "malleus" means hammer, such as in the word mallet and also the bone in your inner ear that helps with hearing. I know this because of a witch hunting book from a long time ago called the Malleus Malefacarum (or the Hammer of Witches)
I make note of this.
They are called "hammer keys"
So, I'm sitting there. Episodes pass. I'm thinking about the Aeor arc in campaign 2 for some reason, can't recall why. But I'm thinking about it, and suddenly, I recall something
The Mighty Nein uncover notes about something called the Factorum Malleus project, AKA the God Hammer. We know this to actually be, canonically, what Ludinus has been trying to replicate with his keys courtesy of FRIDA and their memory of protecting one
In those notes the M9 recovered, the project head is noted as a mage named Athodan. It is stated that this mage uncovered a relic, which turned out to be a Luxon beacon, and used necromantic glyphwork to unlock some property from it that pleased the overseers of this mage's work. What this mage was working on prior to (or in conjunction with) the Malleus Factorum project was rejuvenation
I believe that Ludinus Da'leth is an ancient Aeorian mage named Athodan who worked on the original project to free Predathos and kill the gods
When the gods (collectively, Betrayer and Prime) struck Aeor out of the sky, I believe Athodan somehow survived, but lost all of his work
Maybe he wasn't in the city at the time. Maybe he had some sort of contingency. Regardless, he survived. And, in order to survive the Calamity, he made his way to Issylra and hid out in Vasselheim, the Dawn City, the last bastion of civilization left after the Calamity ravaged Exandria
Once people began migrating out from Vasselheim again, he settled in a town called Ivaadel. Maybe this is where he developed his harness thing that allowed him to rejuvenate again, since he'd be approaching pretty old age (depending on what was done with the Luxon beacon and how old he was when he did it)
He rejuvenates and relocates. Can't have anyone back home notice that Old Ass Ludinus is a 150 year old elf again, right?
He settles in Molaesmyr, because in this post-Calamity world, he is working with figurative rocks and sticks when it comes to magic and technology. So, he needs somewhere that will
a) have a natural wellspring of powerful magic, and
b) have access to relics from Aeor. Molaesmyr has both
And we know Ludinus began hoarding Aeorian artifacts as per Team Wildemount's investigationHe attempted something. Either a shoddy replication of what was built in Aeor, or just an attempt at communion with Predathos and that wiped out the city and corrupted the surrounding woodlands
Ludinus then runs off to Bysaes Tyl for a brief time before showing up on the Eve of Crimson Midnight (interesting name, that) and is credited with stopping the violence between powerful Dwendalian and Julous Dominion aristocratic mages. This accord he is able to reach with them is the basis on which he founds the Cerberus Assembly
The Cerberus Assembly is named after a conglomerate of mages from the Age of Arcanum and predates with Calamity
Knowing that Ludinus founded the modern Cerberus Assembly is kinda suspicious considering how little information of the Age of Arcanum survived the Calamity
He also mentions Laeryn in his notes (Abriya's character from ExU Calamity) and literally no one remembers who she is. Him being aware of her is nuts in the first place, even crazier if you think he is just a modern-day elf mage
In summary:
Ludinus Da'leth is a pre-Calamity, semi-immortal mage from Aeor named Athodan who has been using his knowledge of rejuvenation to keep himself alive for, at the very least, 1000 years
Too many boxes of this theory have been ticked, and I wholeheartedly believe it

for the rabbit restoration project, were there many years/decades where springtrap was not yet active, so he was just slumped over?
i was wondering about whether afton would of been conscious during those years, or whether he was dreaming/having nightmares instead. did feeling return to him gradually (such as the feelings of pain, etc) or was it a sudden jolt to his system?
Once the springlocking was finished, Springtrap didn't 'wake up' until three full years later--and he remained awake the entire time, all the way up until he was finally being freed from the saferoom.
Upon waking up, the pain was immediately felt--like the very instant. It just never went away. Although... by the present, while it has gone down, it's still such a horrible feeling. Springtrap has certainly been trying to ignore it.
That's rather hard, though.
